My oldest WIP finally became a quilt top on Friday.
I started this one back in September of 2009!
Two yards of Kona in Navy finish it off to make it a more usable size.
The middle section is quite traditional,
so, I tried to shake things up with uneven borders.
A lot of this quilt's success or failure is riding on the quilting.
(No pressure there!)
The quilt top measures 60" x 72".
Happy Monday to you!

Great Idea. I am going to try that with some old UFOs I have.
Be sure to show us the quilting you choose.
My kind of quilt. Do the unexpected!
Que bonito y colorido!!

Nice work. I still have you beat with older wips. :)
Love the half square triangle squares! I've got to quit reading your blog getting soooo jealous! :)
Love the stars and HST's. The dark blue border is perfect
I would love to make this.It is beautiful. Do you have a assembly instructions?
I love the Stars and the HST's. With the navy border, looks very patriotic. Great job! I am always envious of how much you get accomplished.
What a great way to finish off an old WIP. good idea.
This one is NOTHING like the things I've seen before. It has a certain retro look to it.
Isn't it nice to break the mold sometimes?
I always love to see what you are up to, Amanda Jean! I miss you at at my LQS and it will NEVER be the same.

I just LOVE the uneven borders. Can't wait to see the quilting.
Gorgeous! I love the uneven borders, and wonder what it would look like with HST triangle shapes quilted in the border? Maybe even some of the star shapes mixed in just for fun…...
whoa! 2009! Good for you! shaking things up a bit huh?! Have fun with the quilting, it's going to be great!!
Wonderful idea with the borders! Congrats on an old quit top finish. You will do great with the quilting - you always do. Love it!
Do you know what you are going to do with the quilting? I can see mimicking the HSTs in the borders.
ha! so i am not the only one with old ufo's hanging out? way to finish it!
Congrats on a new and fabulous finished.Sure he will be delighted with it!!
Inspired and Inspiring. Your creative spark lights the way for so many of us; thanks very much. This is a stunning quilt-the off-setted-ness of it just makes it sing. Great job, Amanda.
I loved seeing this! I just did something similar with my rail fence for your quilt along. I am going to link it up in a few minutes. I wasn't happy with how it was turning out, so I added a negative space border on the top and bottom (but even, not offset) and then did some fun fmq. The results are awesome! The quilt has been rescued from the 70's and has a little modern feel to it now. I'm sure this quilt is going to look awesome when it's finished (you work so fast, it's probably already done! lol).
nice way to finish up a quilt.
I really love this one dearly!!
