Meeting so many other bloggers was certainly a highlight. I got to meet Anna, Kellie, Bonnie and Camille, Anita, Lissa, Vanessa and Heather. I can't say just how neat that was. (And plenty intimidating, too!)
I got to see quilts made by:
3 of my favorite quilts there were old (or antique) quilts...made with teeny tiny pieces.
Each piece in this quilt was only the size of a quarter. Stunning.
Same size squares on this one, but pieced with triangles. It's quilts like this that make me wonder why I call myself a quilter.
This one was from the 70's. It was done by a woman who made it while her dad battled some sort of illness. It was beautifully made and intricate. All hand pieced. Amazing.
I was good and only bought one FQ bundle the entire day. Over the weekend I came up with a quilt along idea to use it for. More on that next post!

It looks like you had a wonderful time! I would love to go sometime... I can't believe you had so much self-restraint to only buy a fat quarter; I don't think I would have done so well. I love that triangle quilt picture!
Ah, wish I could have meet you there. I was up on Saturday and hung out with Vanessa. I was extremely intimidated by all the talent there.
Oh a quilt along?! For us?! YAY! I really love those antique quilts, that is what I am normally drawn to also! They are so pretty. I plan on making some of those with my scraps when I have a big enough pile. I haven't been quilting long enough for that pile to get big enough yet.
My envy is strong. How fun for you! Gorgeous quilts too. Another quilt-along? You know I'll have to join. Even though I probably shouldn't. = )

I can understand the small pieces under stress phenomenon. I am finishing a small quilt started under stress and I wonder now how I made 3/4" triangles? And WHY?

Thank you so much for sharing. I am a sucker for antique hand-pieced quilts, too. Especially the ones with such small pieces. My mother-in-law has a doozy of an antique: each 7 inch block contains a star made up of NINETY pieces. NINETY.
I could lie and say that I'd like to do something like that someday. But I won't. It's easier to just admire. :)

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the Japanese lantern quilt. I just finished a similar quilt. I googled Japanese quilt images and came up with my design. My quilt is a wedding gift for our first Japanese exchange student that stayed with us 16 years ago. All the quilts pictured are amazing.
Nice to be visiting your blog again! I love, love that 70ish triangle quilt. Looks like just random color choices but looking closer I noticed a diagonal color pattern. And then the solid triangle borders. It is really a nice quilt to look at. More and more I am loving these types of quilts. Thanks for sharing.
