I finished the 5th and final quilt for my quilts of valor project yesterday.
Aren't they pretty???
Thank you to those of you who contributed blocks, sent fabric, thread and batting. What an amazing response! I wish I would have kept track of each person who contributed, but you know who you are. THANKS a bunch!!! I'm so glad that I didn't have to make 150 maverick star blocks myself!!! :)

They still need labels (and a pillowcase for each, as requested) and then they will be dropped off at my LQS.
A special thank you to Diane, who volunteered to quilt two of the quilts on her long arm, thus saving my arms. :) She did a beautiful job!!! If you follow this link you can see some photos of the quilting up close.
Each quilt measures 60" x 72". That was a whole lot of binding, but I enjoyed sitting under each quilt and admiring the handiwork of so many of you all at once. It was great fun for me and it gave me something to do while visiting with the in-laws over the Thanksgiving holiday. :)
Again, thank you for your help. I couldn't have done it without you. xoxo

They are indeed beautiful. What an amazing job you have done. There is something so warm and comforting about a quilt. Nothing bought at a store has the same magic as a homemade, handmade quilt. Congratulations to you and your group.

BEAUTIFUL!
Amandajean thanks for letting me join in the fun. There is nothing like a 'real' scrap quilt. It was a pleasure to help out.
They are all fantastic. As a military spouse whose husband has deployed numerous times, I can tell you that each of these quilts will mean a lot to whomever receives them. Thank you for supporting our troops.
You are so wonderful Amandajean! My husband is currently deployed and these pictures bring tears to my eyes! Thank you, thank you!
Those are awesome! You should be so proud of yourself! Kelly Gallagher-Abbot Of Jukebox Quilts is on her way over here to the inn because she wants to teach a cless here in Feb. Very cool quilt with no straight lines! We might just become a quilting mecca!

They look incredible - you have done an amazing job sewing and co-ordinating these quilts!
I've followed your blog since I started teaching myself to sew back in May and I love it. I just had to comment on this post. Quilts of Valor has expanded who they're giving quilts to (not just wounded and not just from this latest war/conflict, whatever it's called). My father, a Viet Nam vet, just received a QOV last week and it is beautiful. I can't tell you how much it meant to him! He truly is proud to have served his country many years ago and was so very touched by this token of thanks. Thanks for participating in this program!!!! It will mean so much to the recipients!!!
THANKS!
-Susan

Really Amanda, you are the most generous person I "know". The time you spent doing these quilts, not to mention all the knowledge and help that you share with us. Our hero.

AmandaJean...I am in awe of those quilts...they look so awesome! I am honored to have been one of the participants, though making one block was not any kind of a hardship for me. You did a wonderful job and I applaud you. Also, I looked at the quilting Diane did...I was blown away! The recipients of these quilts will be so very thankful. Great job to everyone involved!
The quilts are fantastic and I almost missed them. I just read the latest blog on the sidebar of another blogger, but somehow I missed this post. Thanks for talking about this very deserving and wonderful project in your next post so I was prompted to look at the post. I am sorry some spammers exist, but you were very gracious in your discussion of them. A lady's greatest revenge is good manners. The troops and their families appreciate thes quilts.
AmandaJean - thanks so much for coordinating the effort and all of your work in assembling, quilting, binding, and documenting! You made it easy to be part of something so amazing. I, too, am moved to tears.
You are AMAZING! As a soldier's wife, a soldier who's day-to-day is working with wounded warriors, THANK YOU for undertaking such a project and THANK ALL of you who participated and provided a block.

Your QOV quilts are SOOOO BEAUTIFUL on so many levels!!! And I LOVE the photos of them, especially the top one!
Love the colours in the book - they remind me of Terry Atkinson's fabric collection Neutral Territory. Turquoises and warm colours.... yum. Amazing what we find in our day to day lives that inspire our creative sides!
your quilts are amazing and to see them all next to each other it's beautiful!
I envy your talent and patience,
well done
