sewing for sanity

After drooling countless times over Kirsty's log cabin blocks, I decided to join up with the scrappy log cabin challenge on flickr. Timely, as my scrap buckets are starting to overflow.

Love this pattern. Love your use of colour and fabrics. You really have a knack!

The last two posts are so impressive to me. Last year, when I thought I was going to buckle down and learn to use my hand-me-down sewing machine, I tried to make a log cabin pillow. Who knew this stuff wasn't as easy as it might seem? Your work is flawless!

Fun colors. Makes me want to make a non-bright quilt.

I've been eyeing the log cabin blocks at Melly and me too... and my huge scraps bucket... should I bite the bullet and do it?

Found a pattern here http://www.stonecottagequilts.com/newsletter.html that I think you might like... I like it anyway.

Simply gorgeous!! I would tell you that you're crazy for working on this right now, but I completely understand this is the only way NOT to go crazy! So, quilt away!! Plus, you better empty out that scrap bucket - mine is filling up begging to be sent to you!

I like how the Freshcut prints mix with the others, especially the orange. (My stuff is too varied for that kind of project...)

Very pretty! I always love the colors you choose. I may have to have you eye up my scraps one of these days and tell me what to put together because to me, non of mine work together that well. Maybe I should just send them all to you! I might need a u-haul, though. ;)
There is something to be said for sewing for sanity. Something about the creating order from chaos that is very theraputic.
