Welcome to finish it up Friday!
This weekend I'm hanging out and sewing with my friends for our annual Gruber's quilt retreat. This is year 7 (!!!) and it keeps getting better and better. I've appreciated having the time to sew and laugh with my friends and sew some more. I'm super excited, because it gave me time to finish up my "dot your i's" quilt top! I started this project exactly one year ago. I'm thrilled to have it in quilt top form. Already!
Carolyn Friedlander's needle turn applique method that she shares in her book Savor Each Stitch. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of making this quilt! It measures about 63" x 77". It's an instant favorite! I'm looking forward to spending more time with it (hahaha!) as I hand quilt it. I do love a good long term project!
Now, it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Thank you for joining me for finish it up Friday!
This looks some lovely and will be perfect hand quilted.
Love this one!
It is beautiful!! Enjoy your REtreat
This is simply wonderful. It's simplicity and the pretty use of color make it. So glad you had another sewing retreat. Perfect way to spend time with friends.
Happy Friday Amanda Jean!
I have linked up and I also gave you a mention in my post with your simple summer quilt.
Thank you again for hosting ~
I can see why it is an instant favorite. I love it! Have a great weekend with friends.
Lovely! That is really a lot of hand stitching--396 squares! It was worth it, though, because the quilt turned out great. Have fun with the hand quilting!
It is beautiful! It looks like there are so many beautiful fabrics in there :) Enjoy your retreat. It sounds fantastic.
Your quilt turned out beautifully! I love that they are squircles...a soft, lovely and unexpected shape :)

thanks for letting Eric and I crash your sewing time!!
This is just amazing! One of my most favorite of your quilts ever! I applaud your perseverance. Excited to see your hand quilting!
Great to see your 'dots' finished - it looks awesome! Have a great weekend!
A beautiful quilt made all the more special by the length of time it's taken and the memories sewn in.
Wow. Gorgeous. I used to do hand applique. The eyes aren't what the used to be. Love yours. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the party!
What a great quilt, and you are SO a better "man" than me! That's a lot of work.
Oh my gosh, this is adorable!
I love it! And I must ask...WHAT is your quilt top hanging on? It does not look like normal pickup gate...
That quilt is gorgeous. I've been seeing some of them around the internet. Everyone seems to want to make them in mass like yours - and I agree it's the best look. Thank you for sharing it...I'm inspired to make one!!
The quilt is just fabulous, I love hand sewing and can see one of the in my future. x
Congratulations on finishing your hand stitched squircles quilt top. It sure is pretty! Looking forward to following along as you hand quilt it, too. Have a wonderful time sewing with your friends!
The quilt top looks amazing and you will have many happy hours quilting it. I love the word you've invented---squircles! So apt!
I LIKE this top ! Great job !
LOVE it CrazyMom! And I'm so happy you're hand quilting it -- a quilt with that much hand stitching totally deserves hand quilting!!!!
TOTALLY totally fabulous! Enjoy every minute of the wonderful company of this creation!
It looks amazing. You're going to miss sewing on it. Have fun with the gals.
This circles quilts just look amazing, what a great job you did with those little circles, love it!
Love it. It's gorgeous
This quilt looks like the perfect hand sewing project for me to work on while hubs & I are on our 95 day US road trip. I have ordered Carolyn's book so I can learn the technique. Would you tell me how large your circles were at the start? I'd like to get them prepped. I leave Monday. :)
Have a great retreat!
It's an instant favorite for me, too. I love it! And it's a perfect take along project. I may need to add this one to my list.
You get to retreat at Gruber's! So very, very, jealous :-)
Congratulations! You inspired me to start two Dot Your i's projects! One is a quilt, the other a crocheted afghan for my fourth grand baby! Thank you!
Very cute and I know exactly where that picture was taken, too. :) I don't have the patience for needle turn appliqué. I commend you.
