That little cutie pie deer is a favorite! I left a 1" border around the edges this time and I like how it gives the patchwork a little border. I also like that it gives the binding a little breathing room.
So many scraps used...so many scraps leftover. I could make 20 of these, easily! If only I had more time! That's always the trick, right?
Isn't that a sweet backing? It's the perfect match for this quilt. The quilt measures 16" square.
I used my basic sock pattern, which is available here, for free!
See you tomorrow with scrap project #101!!!

Beautiful socks and some doll is sure going to enjoy her new quilt with the beautiful fabrics
Love that extra white background around the outside edges. Looks great!
What an adorable doll quilt. How did you come up with the name ticker tape?
Love your socks. Have wool and working up the courage to start my first pair.
I love those socks! I so wish I knew how to knit but it's probably good that I don't. Like I need another hobby LOL!
The doll quilt is delicious. Love that backing and binding. So perfect to go with those little ticker tape pieces on the front. And the socks do look cozy and warm! Nice work, Amanda Jean!
Such a cute idea for a doll quilt! Might have to steal your idea for my granddaughter! Congrats on scrap project 100!!!!! Can't wait to see your finale!
I love that little ticker tape quilt. I think I'll look into making one with some of my smaller scraps, but first I really should finish a few of my other projects.
Oh how I love the ticker tape quilt. Must have a go with my scraps now I have some time with holidays from school.
Oooh! Your ticker tape doll quilt is SO CUTE! I love these. I made a table runner a few years back in this style. That black and white binding sets off off perfectly. Happy New Year!
I was working on a slab tonight and your ticker tape quilt from Sunday Morning Quilts was open on my cutting table. I thought how it looks so deceptively simple it looks. I know coordinating all those scraps into a pleasing arrangement and color scheme is a real challenge! Love the baby quilt and love the socks!
Number 100!! You are nearly there - can't wait to see project number 101. I admire you for knitting 11 pairs of socks!!
What a sweet little quilt! Your socks are great, I as well love knitting accessories!
You're right--there is nothing like hand-made socks I have one pair--love them!
100 lovely scrappy projects! Hurrah!
I confess to never wearing my hand-knit socks for fear of wearing a hole in all my hard work.
That's probably the best idea for a quilting pattern for me, I think I could manage doing it that way lol
Its a delightful quilt and a perfect scrap using project!
Id love to knit my own socks but haven't the tenacity to make a second sock, so would have an assortment of odd ones - and I doubt they will become the vogue any when soon lol love your wool choice, yours looks snuggy and smart
your toes will be so warm and cosy in those socks. Such a cute doll blanket. Wondering what yo will do when your 101 scrap projects are done, maybe another 101?
Beautiful quilt as always Amanda Jean! And being a knitter, I love the socks!! What's the yarn if you don't mind sharing? Thanks!
Thank you for all your lovely posts! The dolls quilt is such a great idea for scraps - I've just started foundation paper piecing and have been a bit shocked by the amount of scraps it generates. Perhaps I'll be making a dolls quilt quite soon...
Congratulations on reaching #100/101! I stumbled upon Sunday Morning Quilts at my local library and instantly fell in love. (I'm working on Grass right now.) And from there I found your wonderful blog. Thank you so much for sharing your creations with us!
I agree the 1" border frames your ticker tape quilt beautifully. I've been saving trimmings to make one of those in the future, though from trimming up flying geese I have mostly triangles so I can't wait to see how that looks! Congrats on making it to 100 scrap projects, can't wait to see #101!!!
I've never tried the ticker tape method but it sure is cute!
Amandajean,
As I looked at this Ticker Tape quilt I thought man she has a "good eye" because you "Nailed" this lovely quilt especially with the binding. So pretty & who would think this is from scraps.
Motivating me tho get in the quilt studio & look at my "leavings." I used to throw them away---oohhhhh, no more.
Oh so cute! Hope to make one sometime. You have a great blog. Thanks for sharing. Your motivation and inspiration is amazing . Happy New Year.
Your final scrap finish of the year is so cute. Love the socks too. I don't knit so am always impressed with things like socks which seem hard. Do they stay up?
LOVE the quilt. The colors are like candy for the eyes. I adore the backing fabric. What is it? I want some! The stripe ... what can I say except perfect! Lucky doll!
love tickertape--made a pillow from some last year
Cute quilt! Love the binding.
Hugs and Happy New Year
I tried and tried to link to your sock pattern! Would love to know how to and what I'm doing wrong...I did click on "here" and it didn't take me there! Help! I'm knitting socks and would love to see your pattern! The doll quilt is precious!
Adorable, I love your quilt!
LOVE the socks! LOVE the little quilt!
Oh I love the new socks - they're such a gorgeous colour! And the ticker tape quilt is so sweet, I'm sure the dollies love it!
I love this ticker tape doll quilt!!! I'm in Montana right now where my cowboy/cowgirl themed ticker tape mini is hanging which makes me very happy! Thanks for sharing your tutorial. Love the socks too.
