I'm quite excited that this quilt top is finally finished. I am no where close to running out of solid scraps, but I was growing tired of adding "just one more row". I think that happened about 3-4 times before I felt like it was done. The quilt top measures about 70" x 90". That is one big lap quilt! It makes me wonder if I should trade in my king size design wall for something smaller? Hahaha!
It was definitely a labor of love and perseverance. But totally worth it! (The quilt is sideways in the photo, because my quilt holders are only so tall, (ha!) but you get the idea....)

This is just awesome. I don't use solids often enough to have much of a scrap collection but I think it would be fun to start collecting blocks. Sooo lovely!

and, yes, i know what you mean about your quilt holders being only so high. haha! my daughter wanted to hold her quilt sideways, too, but she's taller than i am so i made her do it properly. =)
I am in love with this quilt. It inspires me to do something with all my solid scraps. I had thought of sending them to you, but maybe I should try something like this myself?

(Oh, and I am now obsessed with making quilts at least 80'' wide. Three new double beds in the house and most of my quilts end out about 72''-75'' wide and I wish they were just a bit bigger.)
