I finished my quilt! This one took me on quite a journey. It feels so personal and like such a milestone for reasons I can't express. I will say, however, that I am absolutely pleased with how it turned out. I think the amount of photos to follow prove that. :)
The top is made up of 100% scraps. Mainly Kona cottons, but several other brands make an appearance including a few shot cottons and a few Oakshott scraps.
Spiral quilting was done in a light gray Aurifil thread (color 2600).
Binding is Kona Pepper.
Finished size approximately 70" x 90".
Heavily inspired by Gee's Bend quilts. (Obviously, right?)
This is scrap project #90/101!
Now it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Thank you for joining me for finish it up Friday!

I love this quilt! My last two quilts have been solids and I'm thinking of making 2014 the year of solids. They are just so much fun to play with.
I used Kona Pepper in the quilt I am finishing now and just love that shade. It's not grey and it's not black.

I am going to try your circular quilting method soon :)
Wow. Really great. Starting mine today!
Such a gorgeous quilt - and what a great way to use the IKEA fabric on the back. It's my absolute favorite fabric they make, but I'm always running out - this way I can stretch it further!! I really need to make one of these, too - I've got lots of solid scraps!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh my, this is soooo gorgeous. What a finish! Just flipped through the newest Keepsake Quilting catalog and was happy to see "your page". That's awesome! Happy TGIF & cheers!

Beautiful quilt - they just get better and better!!

Love the colors and that spiral quilting.
Wow, stunning! I love all that gorgeous color, the improv blocks and the way you used different size blocks. It reminds me of the work of my quilting idol, Gwen Marston. I've been saving all my solid scraps to make one like this. Yours is beautiful.

Oh so gorgeous! You must be so pleased with this! And you are getting SEW close to that 101st scrap project aren't you!!!
You spiral quilted it! It must have taken you AGES!!! I absolutely love it. I'm going to have to think less about the potential trickiness in shifting a large quilt around and spiral quilt a top that shouldn't settle for anything less.
This quilt is fabulous!!! Love the spiral quilting too.
Wowzer! It's gorgeous ~ love the colors and especially the quilting!
those little strips of tiny scraps totally make my heart skip a beat! I love you! this is gorgeous and if I had seen it just out in the wild I think I would have known it was yours. Your artistic voice is so clear!
As I viewed the pictures, I must have said Wow like 5 times. I love that it's mostly made from solids. Color contrasting with other solid colors like new crayons fresh from the box.
Oh so pretty. All scraps is amazing. I don't have that many solid scraps at all. This is beautiful! I love the light when you were taking the photos. Morning or evening?
No words - just - wow!
I have no solids in my stash, scraps or whole, because I've always found them boring, but no longer. Your quilt is earth shaking for me--I love the piecing, the colors, and the spiral quilting. Brava!
Beautiful!! Great job! Can't say enough awesome things about this stunning piece of gorgeousness. ;) And I think I will never tire of circle and or spiral quilting. I have two quilts that I spiral quilted and I just love them. I hated to give them away. lol The next one will be mine! All mine! Now I sound just plain seflish. lol But, I digress.....you have every right to be proud of your quilt.
All your hard work, talent and patience has paid off - fandabbylicious indeed :)
This qualifies as a prize winning quilt. Sit back and smugly admire your work. Actually, sit under your quilt and admire. That way you know where it is. Someone might want to abscond with it when you are not looking. Someone like me.
Beautiful - a true inspiration for me to start working with more solids - thank you!
You've outdone yourself - very cool.
Love the quilt and your photography - really shows off all those fab colours!
This just might be your most awesome quilt ever!
This is amazing. Breathtaking. I love it!!
LOVE IT!!! The spiral quilting is perfect and inspiring me as well since the machine quilting is the part I shy away from. As always, thanks for sharing more inspiring work.
This is so Gwen Marston, one of my favorite quilters! She, too, has been inspired by Gee's Bend.

Love, love, love this quilt! I do have one question...can you tell me where you got the fabric with the writing on it (on the back)?
Thanks, Sharon

Wonderful quilt. Love the front, love the back. Can't believe you spiral quilted it ... that's hard! ... and I mean physically hard!! Makes my shoulders ache to think about it.

So clean and crisp! I do love solids, and this proves that you don't need a lot of prints to make a beautiful quilt.
You have seriously knocked my socks off with this one. Your talent and inspiration are never ending.
Love the use of colour
~gasp~ even the back is adorbs :) Good job!!!
GOREGOUS -- and #90 of your scrap projects! What an accomplishment. Thanks for sharing them with us.
So, so, inexpressibly beautiful. I have almost no solids in my stash, let alone enough to make a quilt from them! But I'll have some after I'm done with birch trees! I'm demoted to make a black and white version? Maybe heavily black and white, but still some color... Anyway, I love your inspiration!
Amazing! Lovely work.
Awesome quilt, love the colors!
BEAUTIFUL Crazy Mom!!!
Wow. It's so stunning. This may be my fav of your quilts!
C'est magnifique!!!
Was wondering if you would share some of the process of making this quilt.....
This Quilt andere the quilting is just gorgeous
This quilt is awesome and beautiful to me! Your spiral quilt is its crowning glory. Thank you for sharing this lovely accomplishment with us.
This is an amazingly beautiful quilt. I am a big fan of the Gees Bend quilts and was fortunate to see some of them at an exhibition in Milwaukee. You really evoke the spirit of those quilts in your design and the fact that you used only scraps. Fabulous job with the quilting as well. Thanks for continuing to inspire me.
This is my favorite thing you've ever made, and I have loved SO many of the things you've made that is really saying something! Such beautiful work - it just makes me happy to look at it :-)
Just love your quilt. Meg
