Welcome to finish it up Friday!
Just a few things to share today....
I made a pair of pincushions (for gifts) using the tiniest of feed sack scraps. No fabric,
especially feed sacks, should go to waste!!! :) The smaller pin cushion finishes at a touch over 3". These were made using a "quilt-as-you-go" technique and then I filled them with crushed walnut shells. They have a nice weight/feel to them and they could double as bean bags if you were in a pinch. (Because that happens every day, right?) They are scrap project #93/101.
My trees! pattern got a facelift! These patterns are now in print (available for wholesale orders) and the shiny new PDF version is available in my
craftsy store, as well as my
big cartel shop. This is the last of my patterns that needed major updating, so I'm thrilled with this finish! It's been a LONG journey.
And while this is not a finish, it's one step in the right direction! A pieced quilt back for a long time WIP. I LOVE how it turned out and it may cause me to start yet another quilt. And so it goes....
Since I'm nearing the end of my 101 scrap project challenge (only 8 more to go!!!) I am wracking my brain for what my next crazy challenge could be. I'm open to any suggestions!

I don't remember seeing placemats as part of your scrap projects. Seems like that would be a good scrap project.

I love the pin cushions! And if you're looking for a "crazy" challenge, you could make a crazy quilt to display for each holiday. - I'm slowly working on that myself.

Your scrappy little pincushions are super sweet! Somehow I can't imagine you ever running out of ideas... Or scraps, for that matter. Would you like to try making some Little Blooms blocks? They incorporate both solids and prints and are really cute. I will send you the info in case you are interested!
Those are really cute, and the crushed walnut shells make for a nicely weighted piece that helps the pins stay sharp.

Aw, those pincushions are so darling in all their scrappy glory. I just love knowing that I'm not the only one that can't bear to part with the tiniest bits of pretty fabric. :o)
Oh, how fabulous your updated pattern looks! That's a lot of work, but congrats on finishing that task. One of my favourite patterns of yours - totally smitten by your fabric choices + design on this one.

i'm not sure if you've done placemats with your scrap challenge, but i love doing them for my nephews and nieces (and unborn grandchildren, haha)

The crushed walnut shells are actually lizard litter and are found at larger pet stores. I hope that helps!

Wow! You're almost there! Amazing! How about some scrappy lined drawstring bags by In Color Order? I've been having lots of fun making lots of different sizes. My grandkids love them.

You should make one of those Scottie Dog cushions. When I think scrappy, they come to mind! I am pretty sure Denise Schmidt offers a free pattern on her website.
Oh the pincushions are so tiny and utterly gorgeous, that really is letting no scrap go to waste! I just can't imagine working with pieces so small!

Those pin cushions are teeny tiny! I LOVE your pieced back (and look forward to seeing the front!). As for your next crazy project, what about 'same colour' quilts? And to make it even crazier, start with a quilt made entirely in brown (okay, you can add white and/or black if you must!). Or even crazier...finish any WIP's you have!!!
Next scrap project for me is some Journal covers, great xmas pressies for teenagers.
My crazy challenge is a Dear Jane. I only have ten (blocks) to go too. Too crazy?
What challenge can you set yourself that uses up the bag of thrift-shop zips or some other similar collection in your stash?
A scarf? A fabric bowl? A Christmas ornament?
