soft kitty!

Welcome to finish it up Friday!
So, I turned my little embroidered pieces from yesterday's post into a pillow. (Be sure to sign up for the book giveaway if you haven't yet.) I had plans for a zip pouch, but the pieces were a little big for that. Turns out they work nicely on a 20" pillow cover. Sometimes my projects take on a mind of their own. (That never happens to you, right?) Turns out I really like it as a pillow.
The words of the song come from the Big Bang Theory.
We like to sing soft kitty at our house.
I enjoy making envelope backed pillow. Such a simple finish!
It looks pretty good on my daughter's bed, but I have plans to send it off to a friend. My husband was relieved. He seems to think that a bed full of pillows is a little much for my daughter. I say, what's the problem with her sleeping at the end of the bed? ;)

There are a few little things I'd change if I made this project again, but I'm not going to pick it apart. Literally OR figuratively. Ha!

Now it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Happy Friday to you!

I love embroidery and quilting together. Your pillow encouraged me to dig out the blocks for a Bareroots Sweet Dreams Angel quilt which I have not completed for my granddaughter who will be 4 this year. But pillows are looking like a great alternative. Thanks for the inspiration as always.

We don't have many pillows around here. A few nights ago, I stayed in a friend's house and the bed that I was using had 6 pillows. I didn't know which one to use for sleep,so I used the one that's simple covered with linen cover. The kitty pillow looks so cute!! :) I don't have any sewing project finish this week, but I pass my citizenship test, interview and oath in became an American Citizen on Tuesday morning. :) Happy Weekending~

Your pillow is so cute! I'm always getting that song stuck in my head. My husband thinks there is such a thing as too many pillows too. So silly! ;)

What a simple and sweet pillow. After seeing Yesterday's post about the "S is for Stitch" book I decided to buy it. I love that there are original and dedicated embroideries for girls/boys and some really neat framed pieces to make - like the tutu colors. Thanks for the link-up party once again this Friday. I always love linking and seeing what everyone else is working on!

OMG, I'm now an even bigger fan of yours! LOVE Big Bang Theory, and I really would rather sew than watch TV. It's one of the few shows I watch! LOVE it!

I'm kinda bummed that that pillow won't be on the bed when I sleep there in July...

I lost a good friend to breast cancer at the end of January. She loved Big Bang and soft kitty. Some of her gifts she gave this Christmas were soft kitty presents!! Whenever I hear this I smile and think of her

I used to be a fiend for counted cross stitch, but set it aside years ago. I've dabbled in embroidery lately and would love to improve my neatness and stitch repertoire!

SuperMomNoCape said...

The pillow is adorable... just the perfect setting for the embroidered blocks.

And thanks for hosting the link party again this week. I love seeing everyone's finishes. It inspires me to get my own projects finished.

That pillow does look adorable on your daughter's bed. She could definitely sleep on the end. Love the spots!

I had a giggle when I read Camille's comment about Sheldon being so proud (as long as the cushion wasn't in his 'spot'!)! I love polka dots and love your cushion.

That is fab, I was very inspired by your embroidery that I got my own kit out at the weekend to start on a small patch, that funnily enough will go onto a quilt or cushion.

Quite cute, but I won't be able to look at your blog for awhile until this post drops down the post queue a bit. Every time I see soft kitty here the song gets stuck in my head for the entire day.
