big, big bento

It seems silly to make a Christmas quilt in the middle of a heat wave, but that's exactly what I did. I certainly don't need another Christmas quilt, but this fabric is waaaaay too good to pass up! I love that there is ORANGE in the line...so FUN!
Pattern: A twist on the bento box pattern
Fabric: Technicolor Tidings by Connecting Threads
Size: 72" square

I must really love the bento box pattern, as this is my third variation. You can see the first one here and the second one here. I LOVE all of them that I've made, but this might just be my favorite yet!

That is a great quilt, although it makes me a bit dizzy to look at it. :) g

ps - I'm so not a quilter, but I adore quilts. Your quilts make me want to quilt.

Love it!!! Love the colours! it's wonderful!!!!

Great! I think it might be my favourite of your bento box quilts, too. I'm with Heather D. on the optical illusion-ness of it - it looks as if the middle was closer to the viewer.

Your Bed Bento Box inspired my daughter's bed quilt she fell in love with the picture of yours.

A. This is psychadelically gorgeous!

B. How do you find their fabric compares to other "big names" like Westminster or Robert Kaufman? I've never touched it, and I'm a very tactile person, so I'm curious. Also, how does it wash over time? Does it hold up really well? I think their prices are DEFINITELY worth looking at, and that Christmas line is adorable! :)

C. Thanks for always being such a wonderful inspiration. I doubt my WiP list would thank you, though, as it keeps growing and growing and growing... :)

I LOVE this quilt. Even better, but 2 tween/teen boys LOVE this quilt (do you KNOW how rare that is? LOL). Love the optical illusion-ish part of it!! Did you plan that?

It really does make your eyes pop...rather, the material looks like it is popping. Does it look that way in person too?

I love how trippy this looks! I wouldn't have even known it was a Christmas quilt if you hadn't said so. I'd say it's great for any time of year!

Gorgeous! Reminds me of a kaleidoscope.

Total stunner! Just wondering... what is the length of the outside of a block? It looks like a half log cabin and since I have lots of jelly roll strips on hand it might be the perfect project for me right now. Thanks!

Wow! June is the perfect time for a Christmas quilt. By the time Christmas rolls around, you will forgotten how wonderful that quilt is until you unpack it.

Love your big Bento Box blocks. (try saying that 3 times) haha I'm in the process of making one too and my fabrics are also from Connecting Threads (Riviera II). This is such a fun pattern. And the brighter the fabrics the better.

Love this quilt! I am actually working on a Christmas quilt right now as well! Kind of funny, but I figured that way it will be finished in time for Christmas (hopefully :).
