It seems silly to make a Christmas quilt in the middle of a heat wave, but that's exactly what I did. I certainly don't need another Christmas quilt, but this fabric is waaaaay too good to pass up! I love that there is ORANGE in the line...so FUN!
Pattern: A twist on the bento box pattern
Fabric: Technicolor Tidings by Connecting Threads
Size: 72" square
I must really love the bento box pattern, as this is my third variation. You can see the first one here and the second one here. I LOVE all of them that I've made, but this might just be my favorite yet!

The quilt is absolutely stunning! Great work :)
Psychodelic! I love that line from Connecting Threads and love it even more now!
LOVE the quilt, love the colors, love the design!!!!! Gorgeous!
Wow! I love it!!
That's so cool! It's very optical illusion-ish. Love it!
Wow, it really tricks the eye!
That is a great quilt, although it makes me a bit dizzy to look at it. :) g
ps - I'm so not a quilter, but I adore quilts. Your quilts make me want to quilt.
I love bento Box too. Will check out your other ones but this one is great.
Love it!!! Love the colours! it's wonderful!!!!
Great! I think it might be my favourite of your bento box quilts, too. I'm with Heather D. on the optical illusion-ness of it - it looks as if the middle was closer to the viewer.
The huge blocks are so fun!
Beautiful quilt!
Your Bed Bento Box inspired my daughter's bed quilt she fell in love with the picture of yours.
A. This is psychadelically gorgeous!
B. How do you find their fabric compares to other "big names" like Westminster or Robert Kaufman? I've never touched it, and I'm a very tactile person, so I'm curious. Also, how does it wash over time? Does it hold up really well? I think their prices are DEFINITELY worth looking at, and that Christmas line is adorable! :)
C. Thanks for always being such a wonderful inspiration. I doubt my WiP list would thank you, though, as it keeps growing and growing and growing... :)
I LOVE this quilt. Even better, but 2 tween/teen boys LOVE this quilt (do you KNOW how rare that is? LOL). Love the optical illusion-ish part of it!! Did you plan that?
This is too cool! :)
That looks awesome!!! I love it!!!
Wow what an amazing quilt! The style really makes your eyes spin =D
It is awesome!!!!! Very head spinning--in a good way
I LOVE this!
It really does make your eyes pop...rather, the material looks like it is popping. Does it look that way in person too?
love this! Super Fun!!
Wow, that really does a number on the old eyes! Not sure I'd recommend it for someone who suffers from vertigo! Fabulous design and what fun fabrics!

I love how trippy this looks! I wouldn't have even known it was a Christmas quilt if you hadn't said so. I'd say it's great for any time of year!
Gorgeous! Reminds me of a kaleidoscope.
Total stunner! Just wondering... what is the length of the outside of a block? It looks like a half log cabin and since I have lots of jelly roll strips on hand it might be the perfect project for me right now. Thanks!
At first, I didn't know if my cataract surgery had gone amuck.......but alas, it is your darling quilt that had me all squinty and googily eyed! Love it! Fun!
Cool project! I love the effect this pattern makes, giving this quilt so much movement. Kinda reminds me of a kaleidoscope.
It is beautiful and you do it so well, why not do another? LOL
I like this one too, the colors are great and I love the big big blocks!
Oh, I love it! I'm glad I'm not the only one that never tires of Bento boxes... big, small, no matter what way you make them, I adore them.
I had been eyeing up that very fabric line. lol The bright colours are what grabbed my attention. Looks fantastic!
this is so pretty, Amanda!
I LOVE it!!! You can never be too early for Christmas :o)
Wow! I love it!
Amazing how it plays tricks on my eyes and it appears that the middle block is boinging out to me!!!! Love your book, mom bought it last time she was visiting me!!!
Gorgeous. Almost 3D. xx
Trompe l'oeil!
Awesome.
Wow! June is the perfect time for a Christmas quilt. By the time Christmas rolls around, you will forgotten how wonderful that quilt is until you unpack it.
Love your big Bento Box blocks. (try saying that 3 times) haha I'm in the process of making one too and my fabrics are also from Connecting Threads (Riviera II). This is such a fun pattern. And the brighter the fabrics the better.
I love how this pattern really plays with your eyes. It's like an optical illusion.
Wow, it's a beauty!
Love love love the movement in this quilt.

Best i have seen. Now into my stash to find the fabric to make one.
Tis a fun one.
Love this quilt! I am actually working on a Christmas quilt right now as well! Kind of funny, but I figured that way it will be finished in time for Christmas (hopefully :).
Love it. Love that it doesn't scream Christmas. Glad I got to see it IRL!
Love the fabric line. I had no idea that they sent catalogs to the house. harder to resist the urge to buy that way! love this supersized version of the quilt.
Missed this post somehow, but found it today. I really like this quilt! It's fabulous!
I love the effects this quilt has on the eye! 5 min. after seing this bg entry I was alread cutting fabric strips to make one for a little boy. And it's almost done. So much fun making it, I must make one for myself too :)
