It seems silly to make a Christmas quilt in the middle of a heat wave, but that's exactly what I did. I certainly don't need another Christmas quilt, but this fabric is waaaaay too good to pass up! I love that there is ORANGE in the line...so FUN!
Pattern: A twist on the bento box pattern
Fabric: Technicolor Tidings by Connecting Threads
Size: 72" square
I must really love the bento box pattern, as this is my third variation. You can see the first one here and the second one here. I LOVE all of them that I've made, but this might just be my favorite yet!
The quilt is absolutely stunning! Great work :)
ReplyDeletePsychodelic! I love that line from Connecting Threads and love it even more now!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the quilt, love the colors, love the design!!!!! Gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteThat is a great quilt, although it makes me a bit dizzy to look at it. :) g
ReplyDeleteps - I'm so not a quilter, but I adore quilts. Your quilts make me want to quilt.
I love bento Box too. Will check out your other ones but this one is great.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! Love the colours! it's wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat! I think it might be my favourite of your bento box quilts, too. I'm with Heather D. on the optical illusion-ness of it - it looks as if the middle was closer to the viewer.
ReplyDeleteThe huge blocks are so fun!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour Bed Bento Box inspired my daughter's bed quilt she fell in love with the picture of yours.
ReplyDeleteA. This is psychadelically gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteB. How do you find their fabric compares to other "big names" like Westminster or Robert Kaufman? I've never touched it, and I'm a very tactile person, so I'm curious. Also, how does it wash over time? Does it hold up really well? I think their prices are DEFINITELY worth looking at, and that Christmas line is adorable! :)
C. Thanks for always being such a wonderful inspiration. I doubt my WiP list would thank you, though, as it keeps growing and growing and growing... :)
I LOVE this quilt. Even better, but 2 tween/teen boys LOVE this quilt (do you KNOW how rare that is? LOL). Love the optical illusion-ish part of it!! Did you plan that?
ReplyDeleteThis is too cool! :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome!!! I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteWow what an amazing quilt! The style really makes your eyes spin =D

I love how trippy this looks! I wouldn't have even known it was a Christmas quilt if you hadn't said so. I'd say it's great for any time of year!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Reminds me of a kaleidoscope.
ReplyDeleteTotal stunner! Just wondering... what is the length of the outside of a block? It looks like a half log cabin and since I have lots of jelly roll strips on hand it might be the perfect project for me right now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAt first, I didn't know if my cataract surgery had gone amuck.......but alas, it is your darling quilt that had me all squinty and googily eyed! Love it! Fun!
ReplyDeleteCool project! I love the effect this pattern makes, giving this quilt so much movement. Kinda reminds me of a kaleidoscope.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love it! I'm glad I'm not the only one that never tires of Bento boxes... big, small, no matter what way you make them, I adore them.
