«Oldest ‹Older 801 – 942 of 942Hi. I'm making a baby quilt for a friend of mine and I hope it's ready for Xmas.
I've just discovered your blog and I love it! Inspiring.
Andréa
Lovely giveway. For Xmas I usually make my nieces and nephews pillowcases and I make the family raffle quilt. So far I have nothing done!
Congrats on 600!!!
I've already finished a quilt for my parents. I would still like to make a few table toppers for my grandparents and some zipper pouches and coffee cuffs for coworkers and friends. I'm glad at least my quilt is done.
I just finished painting wood snowmen ornaments for my son's pre-school class. I have also completed 1 of 2 sock monkeys.
tablerunners!
I'm making a baby quilt for my neighbor that just became a grandma.
Rhonda
Hello! I am making wool mittens for the younger ones and a quilted table runner for my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. I also have to make myself a stocking (made hubbys' and sons' last year, but didn't have time for mine).
Congrats on the 600th post! I used your blog to finish making my first quilt, and I am so grateful. I am happy you will be able to pursue teaching, because I think you are very talented at making quilting accessible.
This Christmas I am knitting my little girl a teddy bear for her first christmas and making my oldest a doorway hanging puppet theatre.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
The only Christmas gifts I am making are for myself - a couple of Christmas quilts!
Congrats on reaching 600 posts.
I guess giveaways bring out all the lurkers huh? :) I NEED to make a quilt with bag (like the picnic bag you made) for my friend Jenny. These FQs would be PERFECT.
this is my first time leaving a comment but i've been reading your blog for a very long time. you do amazing work! I tried to make it to the retreat but my husband worked that weekend, and there was no one to watch my 3 kids. maybe next time. as for what i plan to make this year...I'm making sock dolls, I dye the tube socks in tea and make it and all the clothes by hand, I'm making a quilt for my sister, she's been waiting for one for a long time. Stuffed animals for my kids and Jar gifts for my neighbors...i'm running out of time! happy quilting!!
I have a huge family (9 brothers and sisters) so I have been making Christmas gifts for months now. My siblings are all getting crocheted items; hats, scarves, and or gloves. For the parental units they are getting either an afghans or a quilt. I am sewing my grandmother a knitting needle roll in these beautiful aqua marine and chocolate brown fabrics. Wish me luck! I have quite a bit more still to do.
I am making several quilts and some candy tins for the kids teachers.
I am making flannel nightgowns for my three girls. We always give "Christmas Jammies" on Christmas Eve. I wanted to make a doll for each girl as well--but with 6dc including a very active 7mos old--I'm not sure that will happen!
I am working on a throw based on your Moda stacked coins pattern/tute. Thanks SO much!!
Wendy
I would ove to win these fat quarters
dear amanda jean
i´m a very "newly" reader of your blog - but i like it very much and i´m glad i found you here in the www.
for christma i´m planing to make some tissue-bags like these: http://pueppilottchen.blogspot.com/2009/11/der-1-advent-steht-schon-fast-vor-der.html, for my aunts in berlin and some sweets, too. my parents will get patchwork-pillows with an hand embroidered middle part. one of my daughters will get a hand knitted hat and the other one socks (her wish - mummy´s hand knitted socks :) )... and i think i´ll bake a lot of cookies for the whole family :)
best wishes from germany, nicola
I'm going to make some ornaments, and I'd like to make some flannel pajama pants using either Amy Butler or AMH's new flannel lines, but I'm still looking for the perfect pajama pants tutorial.
Since hubby is out of work and money is extremely tight, one home made gift that I will be giving to my 20 or so co-workers is plum jam which was made from our very productive plum tree. As for sewing projects as gifts, I haven't decided if I'll be sewing anything as a gift or not. Time will tell.
jcleveland03@comcast.net
I love those fat quarters- they are so pretty.
I forgot to answer the question- ha ha.
I'm making a diaper holder for my sister's baby, coasters for my aunt, a Dave Ramsey envelope style for my sister, a coupon holder for my other aunt, a table runner with nativity fabric for my mom, and hopefully a tree skirt for myself.
Oh and I'm helping my mom make 50 wooden plaques for her work staff!
Congrats, Amanda jean! 600 is a lot, I'm only around 200! But over 800 comments...whoa!!!!!
It's all about the grandbabes this year as far as hand-made gifts go. Each of my 5 'grands' will receive cozy/warm flannel pj pants from their MoMo and knitted scarves.
Wow! Thanks for a chance!
I am working on some tote bags for some family members along with a few quick fleece blankets. Quick gifts!
Love the colors of those fabrics!
I am currently working on a t-shirt quilt made out of a friend's daughter's clothes when she was little. Simple 4" squares, running in diagonal lines on the quilt. I am loving it.
Yay for 600 posts! I am making ruffly scarves and fabric embellished dishtowels for gifts this year.
600th post, wow, Congratulations, and thanks for share with everybody every one of them, :)
I made a quilt for a special Christmas gift.
Thanks for the giveaway! I'm crazy this year . . . I decided to give everyone hand-made gifts (I know, I know, get the straight jacket ready), so I'm making blankets and hats, etc. But my favorite is for my brother, I'm making personalized beer coozies with his picture on them! They crack me up!
Inspired by your blog, I am making lap quilts for my 2 girls. Shhh. Don't tell. It's a secret.
Hi Amanda Jean - I *love* your blog!
For Christmas I'm making pillowcases for nephews & neices, and some table runners too! (Hopefully I can finish them up in time!!)
Yeah for 600!!! I would love to find the time to make stockings for me and my husband. We'll see!
I only have one gift planned so far but I'm sure that I'll come up with some more as it gets closer....I'm working on a baby quilt for my cousin who just had a baby boy =)
Lovely set of fabrics!
These year I'm making little bags for everyone! And since I'm getting married I'm trying to do something for the guests.
Please pick me!
Love and Kisses
Congrats on your 600th post! I am a new reader, but you've got me hooked.
As for a Christmas gift, after I successfully completed my first ticker tape quilt, I am making one for my daughters friend. I really hope she loves it as much as my daughter does.
Thank you again for making quilting so fun and bright!
-Amy
I love, love love your stuff.
Please pick me randomly... of course!
Kari Lawlor
I am making a table topper and table runner, and a pencil crayon holder.
oh wow! 600th post! and you have well over 800 responses - that's equally impressive!
this christmas, i have or am in the process of making a knitted cotton and bamboo sweater for my littlest newphew, a farm scene mini quilt for my MIL, a knitted scarf for my SIL, a knitted scarf for my mom and hopefully a bunch of bird ornaments for everyone on my list.
Time flies! Congratulations on making it to 600 and 600 more!
I've decided not to make any Christmas gifts this year.... well maybe one and that will be a table runner.
I'm making a card table play house for my 2 year old nephew. He loves Thomas the train so I think I might make it into a train. I'm also finishing up a quilt that I made from store shirt samples. (It isn't a very cute quilt but it has cost me a total of $6 including the batting.)
I'm working on a few different things this year. For our friends and neighbors I am cutting up old flannel shirts, and creating heating pads with feed corn inside. I am also working on bedspreads for my 2 youngest boys... simple denim quilts. They love them, and I love that they never really grow out of the color or style!!
I'm making new stockings for my three new son in laws this year. Yes, three weddings. Whew! Also, 5 lap quilts. I better get started. P.S. Love this print!!
I have knit dish cloths and am now working on quilted potholders. Bonnie browne426@hotmail.com
I'm making my daughter a cross stitch stocking and painting a picture of homemade vanilla for my brother and his wife. Okay that last part sounds weird but he had seen such a picture in my sketchbook and has been asking me to paint one for him for a while now.
Congrats on your 600th post ! I love You fabric-colours. Every tine they are so beautiful !
I am planning on finishing a few UFO's - just planning :)
Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway! For Chanukah this year, I plan to make blue-and-white patchwork potholders and maybe a table-topper.
I just wish that fabric companies would make more Chanukah-themed fabric...it's slim pickings compared to all of the beautiful Christmas fabric!
I'm making photo suncatchers and photo coasters!!!
I'm making the rice filled microwave heating bag things for some of the grandparents
I'm planning on making some bread bags for my husband, a tree skirt for me, and some spa kits for my walking friends. I'm sure add in a bazillion more before December, though!
Cute fabric! I making an apron, book covers, crayon rolls, and some note takers!! This is my hope, perhaps not my reality!!
Wow look at all the entrees!
I'm making ornaments, a few quilts, a couple of baby dresses......placemats and miniquilt hotpads.
Happy Sewing, I look forward to all your posts.
Congrats on the 600 posts! And your welcome! I love reading you blog and you are the #1 inspiration and source of information for me when I began quilting earlier this year. My LQS wouldn't help me...but your blog did! So thank you!
I'm making an Advent Calendar (oh,Fransson!'s) and I've already whipped up 3 quilts as gifts!
Hi AmandaJean,
Thanks for all the beautiful inspirations. I am making some lapel pins using loops and shapes of heavy felt for holiday gifts.
I love these fabrics!
SaraBeth in Mass.
I love that you post so frequently! Your blog has provided me with a lot of inspiration and ideas over the past 6 months since I started reading it. For christmas, I'm hoping to finish 1-2 table runners, 1 quilt, a pair of pajamas and a handful of mini quilt block pin cushions. So far. I almost finished up a coin quilt top from your tutorial over the weekend. It's not a necessarily a christmas gift but maybe. I love it, it's my first quilt that I've made with sashing, so cute. Thanks!
I'm making an angel quilt for my angel of a sister. Love your blog and all the inspiration.

Happy 600th! I've made my sisters (2) both Birdie Slings (Amy Butler) and cozy scarfs (again Amy Butler) and I'm going to make one of them a business card case and the other one a key chain-and I'm actually finished with the big stuff already! :)
I'm working on a shoulder bag for my sister. I did some cute embroidery for the flap already and now I just need to sew everything up!
Hi, thanks so much for offering the nice FQ's! For Christmas gifts, I'm making chicken pincushions, grab bag purses, quilted tote bags, monogrammed pillowcases, and also some darling little stuffed kitties (from a Tone Finnanger book).
Congrats on reaching 600. I'm hoping I will get tehre myself!
For Christmas, I'm planning on making cookies & baked goods for my family, but for my husband's family I'm planning on making some crochet dish scrubbies that will last them all year. The scrubby scrubs your dishes instead of using the sponge or dishrag. For my friends, I hope to make knited hats or scarves but I'm running out of time. Also, I'm trying to make a quilt top using scrap fabrics to donate to "Give a Kid a Quilt". Wish me luck! (http://giveakidaquilt.blogspot.com/2009/11/thank-you-westminster-fabrics.html)
This year I am tackling 9 sets of pajamas for my kids and nieces and nephews. So far so good. You have inspired me to try machine quilting and at the top of my wish list is a quilting foot. I am very excited to try it.
I want to make stockings from an old white wool sweater. Fingers crossed or rather...busy hands would probably work better.
I'm not sure I'm making any gifts at all either! Other than maybe a couple of small things for friends...(oversized bag, hat, scarf, etc.).
Congrats on your posts!
congratulations - not just on your 600th post but (judging on the number of comments) on the gazillions of people who read your blog - that is quite an achievement.
(i'm not really making christmas gifts as such but am in process of making 2 bags and 2 quilts as presents for people.)
bueno yo no suelo comentar por lo del idio,a pero ahora si que igual me toca
Congratulations! this year I am making some bunting for my niece and nephew, and with the help of your binding tutorial, hopefully finishing my first "real" quilted piece, a potholder! Thanks for being such an inspiration to me, I love your work :)
Wow. 875 comments! Congratulations on such a successful blog. I am INTENDING to make colored pencil rolls for the nieces and nephews. And some of the older folks are getting tea wallets, which I already have done.
A quilt for my parents and dilly bags for my daughter's friends.
I am making a twin size quilt for my oldest daughter, a pillowcase for my youngest daughter and whatever other fun things come up between now and then :)
LOVE the fabrics and always enjoy your blog!
Kelly
I'm hoping to finish an afghan to give my grandma since she's the one who taught me how to crochet. Everyone will be getting storebought this year...I keep meaning to make gifts, but never can quite find the time.
Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us!
I am 90& done with flannel pillowcases for my friends' girls, a pillowcase for my son, and I'm planning to make cinnamon ornaments, pancake mix, and some hot cocoa mix to have on hand.
Congratulations on your 600th post. I'm giving quilted journals as holiday gifts this year.
I am knitting scarves for my Munchkins. I would like to do more, but I just recently went back to work full time....it's cutting into my sewing time!
not too late yet?
Your blog is SO inspiring. I made my first quilt using your zigzag tutorial and my dd ADORES it. It makes my heart happy everytime I tuck her in at night. For Christmas, I have already made several purses for gifts and doll clothes for my dd. I always make matching pj's for our family -- the kids love it.
Congrats on your 600th post. I appreciate the time invested to share your projects with the rest of us. For Christmas this year, I am accepting the fact that I'll be doing only a few small sewing projects...and I'm ok with that.
Congratulation for your 600 post.
Con esas telas haría unas tazas de te y unos platos que he visto en un blog, son divinas, me encantaria.
Bss y felicidades de nuevo
Adorable fabric! I'm brand spankin new to quilting and I am in the process of making a tablerunner for my dear mother for Christmas. It hasn't been incredibly hard, but slow going! I think I should have started out with something a little easier...but it's too late to turn back now!
I'm making table runners for my mom, the original Smith quilter, who is now too arthritic to sew anymore. i'm so pleased that she asked me to make them, and I'm trying to make them special for her, even though all she asked for was wholecloth with some binding.
trying to get some bags made...congrats on 600th post!
I hope to make Christmas stockings for my twins.
I'm making my first quilt ever for my baby girl. I've been coming here for inspiration and am finally doing it! Thank you for all your wonderful tutorials and congrats on your 600th post!
I hope I'm not too late!
I've really enjoyed reading your blog. Thank you for sharing your lovely quilts and etc with us.
I will most likely be making some sort of elephant for my daughter and am thinking of doing a fabric doll house for her as well.
Thanks!
Danna
I'm knitting a couple of Alan Dart toy patterns. A dragon for hubby and a Gromit for my dad.
Beautiful fabric! I am making pillowcases this year. Something quick and easy!
I've got three quilts down, one to go, and I'm also making some cute lunchboxes from a purlbee tutorial ... found here: http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2009/8/31/mollys-sketchbook-back-to-school-lunch-bag.html
I am making a baby quilt for my aunt that is due on Christmas with a little boy.
No quilts for gifts this year -- just no time. I'm thinking of making some embellished tea-towels and possibly tote bags. Nice and quick.

I have my own blog giveaway at the moment too for grandmother's flower garden by rosalie quinlan!

I made a "Partridge in a Peartree" wall hanging for someone who loves singing the 12 Days of Christmas :)
http://cuttingedgequilt.blogspot.com/2009/11/partridge-is-done.html
Cheers,
Christine
Congrats on hitting the 600 mark!
This year I am making tons of fabric shopping bags for my family (out of thrifted sheets), and hopefully a couple wallets for my mom and sister. However, I just got a gathering foot for my machine so I'm so distracted making ruffles!
600? You don't look a day over 525! Happy 600th!
This year we're only doing gifts for the kids among our family and friends, so that's made things a lot easier. I'm making knitted hats for most of the kids that live in wintery places along with a cool library tote. And for the babies, they'll get a baby quilt or a knitted toy. I've only finished 3 hats, though, so I guess I better get cracking!
How nice! I am making wool felt photo frame christmas ornaments, simply - I have a 2yr old and a 10 mo old!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi~ I am knitting wristlets for some special sisters-in-law as well as my own mom and sister. Also I quilted 2 doll blankets for my girls--my first quilting project ever!
What a crazy amount of comments. I plan to make ornaments for the little people if I can think of a good idea...and I can't tell you what else cause maybe it is for you.
I'm making a huge lap quilt (more of a couch potato cover up) for my Dad from the Cider Mill Road line, and a tree skirt for the church craft sale.
Love the green and blue! So cheery.
I am planning to make "Petal Pusher Tutus" that I found in the Land of Nod catalog.
http://www.landofnod.com/family.aspx?c=576&f=480
Congrats! I've been a reader for about a year and a half or so and I'm continually impressed at all of your quilting and your ability to make time for it with a family.
This year, I made fabric "paper" chains for my friends who are overseas this year - this way they ship flat and can make the holidays feel a little bit more like they did at home.
Congratulations on your 600th post!
Thank you for posting your quilting journey, it's such an inspiration.
I'm actually making a quilt for my dad for Christmas!
Happy 600th post!! This year I am "attempting" to finish two quilts, one for my mother and one for my brother. And at the same time, I am hoping to finish working on a blanket I have been crocheting for my mother in law (since June) LOL.
I am making candles decorated with dazzle stickers.
I am making punch needle ornaments, penny rugs, wood nativities and whatever comes to mind as I go;)
Debbie
I am making dress up capes for my two older ones. a Princess cape and a super hero cape... hopefully a few other things but not sure yet what!
I'm making my mother a lap quilt that's a screen shot from Tetris. I guess we know where I get my dork from!
This year the gifts will be either mittens or food only. I'm really cutting back. I'd given serious thought to doing none at all.
Congratulations on your 600th post, and thank you for being there! I am knitting some on hats and planing to make a couple of bags.
Congrats on 600! I look forward to 600 more!! My universal hand-made Christmas present this year are Moleskine notebook covers (tutorial on my blog). I made 24 of them! :-)
I just finished the final chapter of making a new grandchild/nephew/brother for my family. He's a week old and might prevent me from making anything that can be sent through the mail!
Congrats on your 600th post!! So far I have made pieced scarves and crayon rolls. I also plan on making hot mitts, an apron, a quiet book, a doll, picture frames, and a world clock w/my hubby. I better get off the computer and get crafting!!
I am planning to make cute little hand bags for all 4 of my sisters, I would like to include matching check book covers and change pockets as well. Maybe I will even find time to put together a lap quilt for my mom.
Congrats on 600, I look forward to reading your blog every day for inspiration!
Stacey P
I've made to many aprons and some of Amy Butlers new online free patterns for a Peace and love sign. It's been fun.
I'm making a sweater...for myself. Blogging blessings to you!
Perhaps I'm in over my head, but I'm making a tote bag, and apron/potholder set, a large quilt, a lap quilt, two crocheted scarves, and two little photo albums... hmmm. I should get to work.
:)
Some runners and fabric baskets, some pjs and pillowcases too!! Maybe even a couple of flannel shirts :) A very handmade Christmas for us.
I am hand knitting fingerless gloves for all my cousins and sister this Christmas--I have made hats and scarves in the past :)
Several "wows" here...600 posts! Amazing. 929 comments?! Uh-may-zing. I'm going to make flannel nightgowns for the granddaughters and hopefully flannel jammies for the grandsons. A pillow case for a son-in-law.
Thank you for the give-away.
I am working to finish a quilt for my cousin, but already dreaming of new quilts with this beautiful fabric. I appreciate the inspiration you offer me for my quilting!!
I just have been very productive this year. Scissor fobs are in the works for my quilting buddies.
Umm, well, I'm going to attempt a tree skirt. I found a mini pattern, and I'm going to attempt a larger size. I'm going to sew a hooded towel for my son, but my Christmas gift list doesn't include many sewed items.
What lovely prints!
At the moment I am furiously sewing for a coffee morning I am having to raise money for an orphanage in Uganda we went as a family to work in during the summer. After that I think I will just collapse and look at the pretty fairy lights!
Thanks for such a generous giveaway - I love following your blog
Merry Christmas!
.....oh, I forgot to say...I'm not making anything because I'm working on a quilt right now for my grandson, and I know it wont be ready for Christmas!
Amanda Jean- Love your creativity, blog and family. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Please enter my name in your drawing. Your fabrics are always fabulous put together. Great eye for colors and designs.
Congratulatiosn on your 600th psot. What a milestone.
Jane
Happy 600
I'm making 1 quilt, 3 table toppers, and apron, a wall hanging, and a few other misc. goodies. Love your blogs. Thanks for all the inspiration :)
For the girls, I will do purses and /or accessories for purses.
The other possibility is quilted journals or sketch books.
These fat quarters would be a welcome stash addition! It is always fun to sew fabrics chosen by someone else!
Congratulations on your 600th post!!! I am making a couple of throw type quilts and a few minis. Also -- I may make a scarf or two.
I just finished a pillow I made from a punch needle project. I also hope to start a table runner soon!
I am new to quilting. I have started a Christmas rag quilt. The quilt is one I got from your blog. You had said it was a great beginner project using 9, 6 & 3 inch blocks. I am seeing the addictiveness of the craft :0) Thanks for sharing your passion & know how.
Had the idea to finish my boys' Twin Size Tennessee Waltz Quilts (one top is done, other (in different fabrics) hasn't been started). Doubt I'll finish them in time, though I could surprise myself (and them)!
Knitting some fingerless mitts for my almost 5yo. Now, the 7yo wants some too.
7yo wants a notebook holder like mine (made of metal with a holder on the side to keep it closed by sliding a pen in), planning on in my head, out of fabric/leather for him.
Gave me GM some Sourdough Starter and Recipes to use with it.
Knit a Jayne Hat (Serenity/Firefly series) for a friend.
Will bake/candy-make/coo
For my oldest sister my mom bought fabric and I am sewing a quilt. It worked out nicely, cause I couldn't afford the fabric and my mom already has too many other quilts on the go.
Sneaking in at the last moment to leave my comment~~~ I love your blog. Thank you for 600 entries.
600 congrats!
I am making butterfly needle holders as christmas gifts.
Brenda C. (Texas)
I am making patchwork scarves this year and super hero capes with wrist bands for my neice and nephew for Christmas. I am so excited to see how they turn out!
949 comments? Get out!!! Boy, you told me you had a following and I knew it too, but 949 comments? I don't even have 949 people looking at my quilts let alone commenting to me. :) You are one lucky momma!
Congrats on 600 posts! Those fabrics are great colors! Hope I'm not too late for the giveaway!
I don't know if it counts, but I'm making myself some imitation LunaPad pantyliners - made two so far and love them - now need to make a bunch.
I'm also going to be making quilted coasters for my mom and maybe some for a few other family members.
Thanks for the giveaway.
I forgot to mention that I will be making a quilt for the grandson that was born today.
AmandaJean, so far I have made baby owl ornaments and I am working on stockings this week. Congrats on the 600th post.
Congratulations Amanda, you are such an inspiration and i love reading your blog. I am making pincushions at the moment for my sewing friends. Kind regards, Christine
I don't know if you've drawn yet, but I'd love to be entered! :D
I don't really even have my Christmas gifts thought of yet!!! This has been such a busy summer and fall. At this point, I probably won't be able to get much crafty, homemade stuff done...although maybe a small cross-stitch project for my sister would be possible.
Wow, almost 1,000 comments!:)hope I'm not too late, I've been in transit for 2 days! Blue and green are my favorite color combination right now! I'm planning to do some sweet embroidered dish towels for gifts. Thanks friend! Here's to another 600.
A quilt for my MIL.
