this is my 600th post. i can hardly believe it. as a little thank you to you, my dear readers, i'm giving away a fat quarter of each of these prints. i'll pick a random name on monday evening, november 23. one entry per person please. since i like to leave a question for you to answer when i do a giveaway, i'd love it if you let me know what kind of christmas gifts you are making (or meaning to make) this year.
thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading, commenting and following along with me as i quilt. it means so much.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 600 of 942 Newer› Newest»Congratulations! I'm making button wreathes.
Your blog is one of my very favorites! I just put down your (printed off) binding tutorial and started working on binding my very first quilt. You've inspired me beyond measure! Thank you!
I am also working on little quilty coasters for Christmas gifts.
Stacey :)
This year I am making lavender sachets from my own handwoven fabric. I am going to fabric tags for each gift sachet.
I making a photo quilt for the grandparents (if the backing fabric ever turns up!) and a molly monkey from mmmmcrafts'pattern for my neice. Congrats on the 600th post!
I am making me a christmas quilt, it may take a while and may not get finished this year but I am doing some hand embroidered panels and am going to team it with some machine embroidery on my new machine and put it together in a small quilt, maybe even a wall hanging.
Cute fabric. I would like to make something new but if I don't make my traditional fudge and caramels, people become very unhappy.
Congrats on your 600th post. I am making lap quilts for both of my nieces.
Thanks
Stacey J
i made my mom a quilt! Oh, and actually i used your Coin Quilt tutorial at Moda Bake Shop! Thanks!
Congratulations!!!! 600 posts!! We've loved them all!
I've actually been working today on some of the Christmas gifts I have planned. I've been doing the quilting on some placemats. I'm also doing matching hot pads and then adding some matching fabric to some dishcloths.
I have a number of other projects to complete, some sewn, some knit. One other project is bedding for my daughters American Girl Doll Bed and an apron for her.
So much to make and so little time.
Congrats on 600 posts! Bet when you first started, you never imagined this is where it would take you!
For Christmas I am making fabric-trimmed flour sack towels (moda bake shop), and I hope to finish a vortex quilt my nephew asked me to make for him.
I am not sure if I will actually get anything hand made this year done for Christmas. I usually like to try to do handmade gifts, for at least some of the family, but nearly everyone I know is pregnant this year, and I signed myself up for several donation projects, so I am guessing the Christmas list is going to be non hand made this year. I sadly don't have enough time! I would like to do one for my mom (a quilt) but I am not counting on that being a reality!
I'm planning on making pj's for all the kids, dh and I, and some dresses for my 3yo. Beyond that, I'm not sure, but I better get to work soon, or I'll have no hope of finishing!
Congratulations on 600.. Wow it might take me awhile to there.
I'm going to make some pin cushions for my quilty friends, cloth grocery bags for relatives and maybe some wallhangings time permitting. Thanks for the chance to win the fat qtrs. Glad I came to read your blog today. What I could make with these beauties. :)
wow you have a lot of readers!!
i love your blog!
i'm hoping to make some quilted coasters and matching table runner for my SIL.
Why, a quilt, of course! I am finishing up a Christmas quilt for my brother and a baby quilt for a friend.
Congrats on 600 posts! I love your blog and the fabric on your giveaway. I'm making superhero capes, eye spy bags, and even changing a nightstand into a play kitchen for my daughter!
Wow!! Congratulations on 600 posts. That's amazing. I love your blog. You are so inspiring. I'm planning on making some Christmas ornaments, bags, and mini quilts as gifts this year. I'm going to attempt to make some PJ's too if I have time.
600 posts and I've loved every one of them and am looking forward to more in the future! For Christmas I'm working on a doll quilt, doll diapers, felt food and some chef hats for the kids. And if there is some time I hope to finish my quilt along quilt.
Congratulations on your 600th. I am running out of time but, this year I am making flannel quilts and assorted pillowcases for the small people in my life.
Have a great Thanksgiving and thank you for the giveaway.
I am a cut out cookie queen. I make them.....lots and lots of them....pop them in the freezer then pull them out to decorate little at a time for giving. I am giving knitted dish cloths withe KrisKnits cute designs on them in wonderful colors. Also making potholders that are lovely.
Your site is wonderful and so inspires me. I look at white fabric in quilts much differently now since following your blog. LOVE using WHITE...and all your creativce ideas...thanks....Judy
I made some stuffed Bunnies for my nephews and niece, and I think I'm going to make some zippered pouches for some other family members
I've been making baby doll blankets with matching pillows with the little girl's initials on it for my nieces. They are turning out sooooo cute! Love using all my funky, girly material!
This Christmas I'm hoping to make washcloths and homemade soap for our friends and family...Though plans have been hamstrung by a lay off. Not sure if we'll have a Christmas this year :(
i'd like to say i'm making all kinds of cool christmas presents, but i think my recent little drawstring pouch obsession will mean everyone is getting small japanese trinkets (candy perhaps?) in cute little bags.
My biggest "must be done by Christmas" is a love quilt with cross stitched squares (from ladies I have been on a cross stitch board with for almost 9 years). This quilt is going to our board's founder who has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
I'm making a couple of buttercup bags and trying to finish a couple of quilt tops. Yikes--time and motivation is difficult, but the desire and hope is there.
Lots and Lots of cookies for work! :) And a few Christmas doorhangings.
I am making Christmas stockings for my grandchildren and we are drawing names for the adults. I don't know if I will make that gift or not. Hope you have a very Happy and Blessed Holiday Season. Nancy
The pleasure is all mine when I read your blog. Congratultions on such a big milestone. This Christmas, I'm making soft toys and a covered box.
you crazy mom you! 600 posts?! That's amazing! Congrats!!! And thanks for this give away! Every year I make my 2 sisters a gift and this year it is quilted purses!!! I hade to make myself one first (for practice) and what I've made for them is awesome!!! I'm so excited!!! I'm also going to make a little bag or wallet for that something extra :) I hope they love them!!
-candace
Congrats on 600! I'm working on fabric baskets (from Pink Penguin's tutorial) right now. In them I'm gonna put little things like bookmarks and maybe vinyl pouches from your tutorial. And hair accessories, for my nieces.
Happy 600th! I'm making quilts, bag and marshmellows -
Thanks for being here for all of us -
Sew on -
Wendy
Currently I am quilting a nine patch made from Moda Posh line for my not so new neice. Darn move, etc, has been a couple months behind.
I purchased tiny walkie talkies that look like cell phones and am making them cupcake purses to put them in. At least for the girls. For the boys, I am making a little belt holder for the walkie talkies.
I always make a quilt for the child's name I draw, that hasn't been started yet. YIKES. Oh if I were like you, that would be no problem, you could whip out at least 30 by Christmas, but for me, it is a BIG deal, I hope I can get it done. . .
for my sis? A flannel nighty. She has drooled over the long white one I made mom for several years, so I guess that is next.
do I have time? YIKES better get off the computer and sew instead.
:D
love your blog Amanda.

Congratulations! I've made lots of tissue holders from Polka Dot Pineapple's design, and fabric baskets following Pink Penguin's pattern. Also felt gingerbread men from my own design.
Thank you for all your inspiration,
Fran

Congratulation to the 600th post. This year I hope I can finish a quilt for my niece, and table runners for some family members.
i am making a scarf and a tote bag and some jewelry.
I am actually making all of this year's Christmas presents. They include etched glasses (wine, pilsner, etc), knitted items, and also my very first QUILT (but so far it's not quilted).
Not sure what I'm making for Christmas yet, but I am making lots of stuff for a craft show in a couple of weeks. Checkbook covers (yours!), fleece baby hats, wire star ornaments, and maybe a knitted spiral scarf or 2 if I have the time. :)
Thanks for such a great blog! You inspire me!! Congrats on 600.
Wow - 600 posts! I love your blog, your work is just fabulous. I'm making a baby quilt, table runners, and a few handbags. Have a great holiday, and thanks for the giveaway.

I'm working on a table topper, table runner, stockings, tree skirt, place mats...
Amanda, congratulations. Your blog has come a long way!
I have a question for you. I saw some advice on someone's november post how to be productive in quilting with small kids in the home. Did you read it? If not do you have any tips you could share?
Your Russian friend, Maria, a mother of 3 boys.
How nice with a give-away!
I already made a tabletopper for my mum. And I´m gonna make small totebags for my MIL and SIL. Maybe I´ll make a small totebag for myself to, the one I have is almost broken :) Have a great day!
What pretty fat quarters you've picked out for your 600th post. I am trying to finish a quilt for my daughter from fairy fabric. I've already finished the pillow case, so in case I don't finish it she'll get something from Santa. I also want to make some journal covers for my sister and cousin. I also make a Christmas snack mix only once a year to give to everyone.
Wow 600! Congratulations! I intend to make a couple of aprons for my Mum and maybe the slippers for my 2 girls from Heather Ross's Weekend sewing book.
Oh my you have so many entries! I am making appliqued Christmas tea towels at the moment.
Congratulations on 600 posts - you really put me to shame!! I am hoping to make a few log cabin style scrappy cushions for my neices and nephews and with any luck I'll hopefully finish a quilt for my brother. Now I have discovered simple machine quilting I can get things done soooo much faster!!
Congrats on 600 posts. That's a lot when you stop to think about it! Love the fabrics you are giving away, too.
For Christmas I am making a few table runners, and at least two quilts (one more if I have time), and some small sewing projects for the kids - bags, doll clothes, pencil rolls.
Congratulations on your 600th post! I am planning on making table runners for my parents.
I love those colors! I was planning on making my husband a blue and green zig zag quilt for christmas, my son is wanting a "cowboy" quilt,so I've got some Alexander Henry fabric, and my brother-in-law is getting an American flag on one side of his quilt and the Canadian flag on the other side... I just have to quilt it! Whoohoo! I love quilting!!!!
I'm working on pillowcases for my nieces and nephews, and aprons for my mom and sister.

Congratulations for your 600 and thank you for your blog.
I'm now crocheting a scarf, knitting a jacket and sewing a quilt as presents.
Gifts for Christmas! I am in panic mode. I have begun a wallhanging for my Parents & plan on some simple bags (the nearer w get to Christmas, the simpler they become!). I have a family quilt made & sandwiched - need to quilt it this afternoon if possible. Also 'helping' my son make table mats.

I've just finished a lap quilt for my nanna. It will probably be the only handmade gift this year because it was such an undertaking and time is running out. http://thequiltedhen.blogspot.com/2009/11/cats-finished.html
Christmas quilt for my hubby!
At this very moment i feel that i'll try to make only one present myself, and that one's for me! It finishing my thesis before Christmas.
If I would have time though, I would probably knit socks. No matter how boring they seem to me, they always seem to be a hit amongst non-knitting friends!
-Sanna H.
I have nearly finished "Holiday Morning" from Material Obsession book 1, for a very special quilting friend. I also hope to finish a Fish wall-hanging for my brother and his wife, AND a wall-hanging for my mum!!! Do you think I'll get them done?! I can see late presents this year.
Happy 600th post !!! I love read your blog... fine fine fine !!!
congratulations for your blog!!! and happy christmas :D

For my friends at work - Sock Bags -originally designed for knitters - but really cute drawstring bags with a zippered pocket on the front. I added linings to the original pattern and used my batik scraps. For family - large pleated tote bags made from corduroys.
Keep on blogging
Congratulations on your 600th post. For Christmas I'm knitting 5 pairs of socks, a hat and mitten set and making three elephant toys with Christmassy outfits - if I finish it'll be a miracle!
Congrats on 600! Your blog is an endless source of inspiration.
Christmas: I just made some terry cloth shorts for DH, ala 1980's. Planning an apron, some bookmarks, a superhero cape and an advent calendar (better get on that one lol). I have grand plans for a foam board castle with towers and a drawbridge. Don't know if that will happen. I still need to dream up somthing for mom.

Congratulations AmandaJean! What beautiful fabrics they are, and they'd go so well with my stash!!!! LOL
This year I am making a new bed quilt for my Mum, very subtle soft taupes and creams. So far I've got it cut, I need to get a move on! Also a few little giftie bags for friends, and maybe a couple or three journal covers for coleagues at work. We'll see if I get it all done in time LOL.
Thanks for all the inspiratation on your blog, I love it!
Congrats!!!
For Xmas I'll do diary-cover. I'll give all my quilt-friend a patch diary, so we can write every day about quilts of us!!!!!
You inspire many.....my gifting this year includes monetary gifts to Heifer Inc in honor of my recipients.....give a man a fishand he eats for a day.....teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime!! I am also knitting fingerless mitts.

I guess 477 might be my lucky number.
Amanda, you are so very loved by us all. Look how many people want to win a yard of fabric touched by you!!!
Andi :-)
Instead of sending christmas cards this year I am doing a bit for our planet, by making christmas decorations instead, each person who would normally recieve a card will recieve a hand made decoration for their tree, something they can use year after year!
I'm making my son a quilt...almost finished.
and the quilt group is having a covered coathanger swap for the gift this year...so am in the process of making it.
great giveaway...would be fun to win
This year, many are getting custom designed table runners. Each year it is something different (getting harder the more I love to sew!!)

Congratulations with your 600th post. I am making tablerunners and potholders.
Congratulations on 600 posts. WOW!
Beautiful fabrics.
hmmm...for xmas I am making Christmas ornaments and a few homemade slippers for charity and a friend and I are making a quilt for another friend. We used some of the designs from the Gail Pan BOM 'Christmas Wish'. Top is pieced. Back is pieced (yikes had to piece because we cut wrong) and so we will have to sneak in here and there to get it quilted in time for xmas. It's really a pretty quilt and I will have separation anxiety.
Hi!! I`m a big fan of your blog and your quilting!! I`m knitting long stockings for my oldest daughter- because my youngest got a pair for her birthday, and the big sister said. Mom I want a pair for Christmas, and mom could not resist that cuestion......Anne-Oslo, Morway
I am ambitious this year. Found an old crazy quilt I started decades ago, and finished it out for a large pillow cover for Son 1. It was 3 dimensional at one point! Darts and reuse made it flat! Good thing it was a crazy! Son 2 ASKED for a quilt! So make my first big quilt, a coin. Needs pillowcases yet. With scraps from it, made a hanging that Son 3 actually liked! (He doesn't like anything!) Decided to make DIL a quilt, and used the selvages and trimming scraps to crochet up small rugs for her bathroom, to match. Daughter wants a purse, which is next on the agenda. Friends are getting potholders and pincushions...some done and some to do. Mostly practice pieces. DH? I have the fabric for a summer quilt, but no time for it this year. He got a bathroom redo! I started in June, maybe May.
Those fabrics are gorgeous! I am making aprons and pillowcases for several people this year.
Congrats on your 600th post!
This year I think I might have bit off more then I can chew. I'm making tons (too much) handmade soap for friends and family, and for my two kiddies I'm working on finishing (mostly still starting) a quilt for each of them.
Congratulations! Sounds impressive - 600 posts. With me it is more like 6, but definitely more to come.
I love the modern looking quilts you make. I am yet to try one like that. As for Christmas - I was hoping to make some sashiko placemats and pot holders.
Hoping to make some makeup purses, not sure if I have left myself enough time. xo
those are gorgeous fabrics and congratulations on doing 400 posts!
for christmas i am making - some bags of beanbags for kids, some knitted christmas decorations, some photo calenders for family, some little girls dresses, some bags....phew! i think i best stop blog browsing and start crafting lol
Here in The Netherlands we celebrate Sinterklaas instead of Christmas with presents. That will be on the 5th of December. I am busy making 4 Magoo's from Melly and Me. Presents are only for the family...
I love the colour of your fabrics! 600 posts ... that is a lot! Congratulations.
For Christmas I am making lots of things ... 2 x handbags, 2 x ballerina outfits, clothes for Christmas day for the kids. I might also make some tea towels, if I have time!
i'm making mittens and journals from felted wool sweaters this christmas. love your quilts and am amazed and the amount you get done!
Congrats on the 600th post. I am a new reader as I have just started quilting. I am trying to finish a quilt I am making for my little girl for Christmas. Although I have done a few paper craft gifts too. I love handmaking presents.
This Christmas, I'm working on some baby gifts since so many of our friends have added little ones this year
This year, I'm making my father, aunt and father in law throw pillow covers with fabrics that remind me of each of them: FIL was a chemistry professor, so he gets molecule fabric, and dad/aunt get old time label fabric (I saw some fabric with an Edgeworth tobacco can label, and had to get it -- my late mother had an Edgeworth tin collection). Husband already got a "Sunday in the Park" throw pillow as a just-because gift. I'm also trying to make a baby quilt from charm squares, but lining up all those seams is tough!
Actually, I will be making my very 1st quilt -- a baby quilt for our first grandchild. She will not be making her entrance until March, but, I want to start my baby projects now. I will probably make a few burp cloths, too!
Love your blog!
Congrats on your 600th post ! I am making everyone christmas decorations and new stockin's My son has requested a quilt. So I really need to get busy ! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the chance at your giveaway.

I'd like to make my son-in-law a Notre Dame quilt but can't find any fabric! I may have to get creative with that one.
I love your blog and congratulations on your milestone!
Congratulations on 600! Wow! Those FQs are lovely! I am making a Hunter's Star quilt in batiks for my boss, 6 fabric baskets, a Holiday stitchery wallhanging for me, and hopefully I'll get to start one of the 3 Christmas quilts I have kits for (not with the thought that I'll finish by THIS Christmas though!
Congrats on #600! Let's see - for Christmas I'm making a few things - but my favorite is 'the year of tablerunners' for my Mom. I started in February and made her a table runner for each season/holiday - I'm finishing up # 7&8 and will give all of them to her on Christmas. They're all different styles and sizes. I tried some different things and had fun making them. I also wanted to thank you for the little scrappy doll blanket. I've started one of those as well. Keep on blogging - looking forward to reading 600 more - at least! Piece...
Wow, lots of comments...I'm not making any Christmas gifts this year. Decided to try and work on some Christmas quilts for the comming year...see how it goes...the best made plans...etc! lol
What a lovely blog. You are so inspiring. I am making napkins and placemats as well as pajama pants. Thank you for sharing your creativity.

It is so fun for me and inspiring to see the work that you do. Because I don't even have a blog, I just READ them, I look to yours first among others for the "eye candy" I need to get through the day! I am making my kids pillow cases with some great Heather Ross fabric and making them each a stuffie.... maybe coasters for teachers and friends?
congratulations on your 600th post, and thank you for the give away!
I am making christmas walhangings from the Among the Gum Trees designs.

Congrats on 600 posts!! What a milestone.
The only thing I'm working on that I'd like done in time for Christmas is a tree skirt. I have been saying for years I'm going to make one and I'm hoping this year is the year I can say it is done.
I'm making a table topper for my in-laws and hopefully something (haven't decided what yet) for a friend who is going away to teach in Mongolia for two years. I hand-sew so my progress is a little slow, though! I've been enjoying all of your recent finishes!
Wow! 600, that really is amazing - especially to a blog-phobic person like myself (i can't seem to get into it but I love reading about what everyone else is up to). I've already started my christmas crafting (a baby quilt and matching pillows and an art caddy. But I still have loads more to do - a complete table arrangement, stockings & yet another quilt.
Congratulations on your 600th! What a nice milestone. I already made sets of drink coasters in Christmas fabric to give away at Thanksgiving time and now I'm working on a crazy nine patch quilt to give to someone.
Love your blog, love reading the comments from everyone! I am a mom of 7, who loves the family part of Christmas, HATES the commercialism, yuck...LOVE how my kids squeal Christmas morn...mostly my girls and I bake goodies for family & friends, breads, cookies, peppermint bark, for my girls something handmade each year, this year, daisy chain necklaces, swirly skirts for the 7&8 yr olds, for a best quilty girlfriend, a pillowtop I designed with the applique shapes cut out and ready to stitch on, threads included - she's going to love it!

I'm knitting six pointed stars for Hanukkah, and the little ones (both family and friends!) are going to get a scrap color book (as seen on Sew Mama Sew - a great way to use up some scraps!).
Congratulations!
I'm making a few quilts and a table runner for gifts. Normally I'd have time to make more but we're expecting our first baby in April and I have been busy sewing for her :)
Very pretty Fat Quarters .. I have to comment!
I am making a bunch of knitted fish hats for my nieces and nephews, and also knitting socks for most of the women in the family (men have big feet and aren't much fun to knit for!), and I am also doing a bit of sewing - I am making one of my nephews a cuddle quilt (polar fleece on back and red and black squares to compliment the tractor fabric I found -- he's a 3 year old tractor fanatic, so he'll go bananas for this tractor quilt!).
I'd like to make more, but will probably run out of time!
Wow, 600 posts is incredible - congratulations! Even though I may not have read all of them, I keep on coming back for more.
As for Christmas gifts: I have already finished a flower table runner ( Sweetwater contest a while back) and a Scottie Dog quilt is waiting to be quilted.
Thank you for the give-away and have a nice weekend.
I'm working on 2 quilts for Christmas gifts. One for my DH to use on our living room chair, not much of a surprise. Am quilting it now. The 2nd is a gift for me:) A XMAS quilt. I wanted to make a quilt for my son...quitar themed, but am still waiting for all the fabric to arrive, so it'll be a birthday gift next July.
thanks for all the inspiration you share with us amandajean! i'm only making two presents this year. quilted placemats for my mom and a quilt for my sil. and you?
i'm making quilts and wonder wallets as gifts this year!
Congrats on 600!
I dont think I'll be making any gifts this year. I live in a tiny apartment and its a challenge for me for find space. So sadly I won't be making any gifts.
Congratulations on your 600 posts! I love reading your blog.
For Christmas presents this year, I've knit 7 pair of gloves for my in-laws. 7 pair!! I'm also making my daughter a felt playhouse. Hopefully I can get it all done. :o)
Congratulations on 600 posts! I enjoy following you and love your tutorials. I have barely begun my Christmas projects yet 'cuz I have to finish a quilt for my FIL. He had his colon removed in and he is always cold so I used a super warm batt and flannel backing and that sucker is heavy! I am trying not to start the table runners, fabric gift bags, stockings, and some machine embroidery gifts until this quilt is done. I am about half way with the quilting, then bind and whew! I can start others. Ok better get to it! Happy Thanksgiving!
Lisa in New England
I am making the usual pajama pants. I am also making little bags for my daughter and capes for each of my kids with their initials on it.
Wow, 537 comments! I'm not sure what I'm going to make for Christmas presents. I was thinking of making the sewing machine covers from Spool sewing for girl friends that sew. thanks and happy Thanksgiving.
I have the best intentions of making some lap blankets. We'll see how far I get on that!

With the odds firmly against me, I can tell you that I will not so much be making Christmas pressies, I will be making stockings for Saint Nicolaus, which is on Dec 6. The kids put out their booties the night before and get little pressies in them. Used to be tangerines, nuts and such and a lump of coal if you'd been bad. Nowadays it's what you Anglo-Americans also consider stocking fillers. This will work especially well for my British godson who is moving before Christmas and spending the Holidays at the Grandparents in the US. All sent, unwrapped and put into storage before the Big Fest!
this year for christmas i am going to make quilts. I have three quilts to finish. I better get started.
I just started quilting this summer and now I am hooked. I love reading your blog because it inspires me to keep working. I'm making some quilted napkin sets, I'd love to make a throw sized quilt for my mom to put on the back of her couch. I'll have to really get working if I want to accomplish that.
I'm making a queen-sized quilt for my parents, it has approximately 3000 pieces. Knitting hats for three of my siblings and I've got a basket of jewelry-making supplies for my youngest sister (who already has a hat :P).
What is a joy to you is an inspiration for all of us. Thank you for being such a fabulous blogger.
Making for Christmas???? Bags, mini quilts, stockings and pjs. I HAVE started!!!!!
I have made 4 quilts, which you inspired me to finish. I stippled 3 of the 4, one didn't turn out so great...but oh well. I also made two little quilts with tiny dolls, that look like they are sleeping in beds. One Raggedy Ann doll. I also am going to try and make an apron for a girl friend. If I win I'll send you the pics. Love your blog!
Congratulations on 600 posts! I'm making checkbook covers and coaster sets for Christmas.

Pillowcases. Also finishing up a Christmas quilt.
I plan to make bigger, warmer blankies for my two kiddos. a tinkerbell tutu for the girlie, and a cape for the boy... i think. i hope.
Way cute fabrics. Do you want the whole list - I am making tote bags for my nieces and younger nephews and putting a coloring book of pics of their cousins in it. I am also making quilts for those who are older (but they still get a colorng book.) I am half way done with most of these projects.
I'm making my Christmas cards does that count? My machine is broken and I can't afford a new one, or I'd love to make everyone a quilt or apron for Christmas. I love reading your blog, your quilts are beautiful!

I am trying to do a handmade holiday. I am making capes for my boys and nephew, a bible cover, rice bag, and apron for my mom, a purse for my sister in laws and nieces, and a quilt for my dad. Oh and little peg people to put in the house purse I made for my niece. Thanks for the chance to win.
I am making my sister an americana flag. I just need to find the right stars to put on, baste, quilt and bind.
this year i'm not making the gifts. i'm teaching my grandchildren to sew and they will be making totes for their moms and rice bags for their dads. if we have enough time, i'll show them how to make fabric postcards that they can send to their families. it's been alot of fun to watch their faces as they concentrate and how excited they get once they are done.
thank you for being such an inspiration to us and taking the time to blog.
I'm working on patchwork scarves for everyone. I'm also making an extra special table runner for my mother in-law since she's hosting the event this year :)

This year I'm making my two boys Christmas blankies, my mother a quilt (top is done, ws going to send it to be quilted, but you have inspired me to try to quilt it myself), and the boys and I usually make ornaments for the Grandparents and great Grandparents (yet to be decided).
Well where do I start - fabric wise, I hope to put together the batik birthday blocks I received this year and make a quilt for my nephew, I've got a couple of smaller things to make - like purse/bag organisers and then there are the yarn crafts, I've a couple of homespun yarn crafted into scarfs and shawls, and more spinning to do. Why does inspirtiation hit so close to Christmas?
Am hoping to make game quilts for my nine grandchildren...six paper doll ones, one tic tac toe, and two I spy...wish me luck!
600 posts.. and almost 600 comments. congrats on an amazing achievement. as for holiday gifts.. i haven't even started thinking about them yet!! give me another week!
I'm making quilts for each of my 4 kids. One is finished (woohoo!!), one needs to be quilted, and TWO need to be started (oh, my!!). The daughters will also get Christmas skirts (gotta get on that one this week!). The married girls in my family are getting an assortment of monogrammed coffee/water bottles, quilted coasters, and scarves. Hubby wants a leaf blower. I'm not that handy with mechanics, so that one will come from the hardware store ;-0
What a lovely fabrics! This year I don't make too much hand made gifts. Only some stitching and little things, like pouches... I hope that next year I will start my Christmas gift preparing sooner!
Thank you for the chance,
Edit from Hungary

For Christmas I'm planning on making loads of things but it's my mum's 50th birthday on the 8th too so lots to do. I'm making her a waterproof apron for ceramics as well as a tool roll and the tools to go in it. I've even made her some glaze brushes from (ethically sourced) squirrel hair! If I can make a fabric covered sketchbook in time, I'm going to do that too. Everyone else's presents can wait!
Congratulations on your 600th post! I hang on every word, I'll have you know. You're an inspiration and a posting from you on my dashboard feels like a letter from a good friend.
I'm probably making some gem trees that I saw demonstrated at our rock club show. Sewing wise, I need to finish a quilt for each of my sons. Probably some Xmas pillowcases, too.
A fleece blanket for my middle kid and possibly for my husband, mom, and brother, finishing up quilts for my daughter and middle kid, maybe pillowcases for all.
Congrats on the 600th! I have only been reading for a short while, but you have already been such a great inspiration! I am hoping to get some tissue-cases done for my kids' teachers, and I would love to have a quilt under the tree for my hubbie and me.

Paige
First of all, those fabrics are gorgeous!
I'm making purses and craft bags for almost every woman in my life...Let's just say I'm going to be busy! :)
Congratulations on your 600th post! I love your blog Amanda Jean! Thank you so much for sharing all your creations, it is inspirational!
I'm making my son a frog quilt. A very simple one, I just had a baby a week ago, and I'm not feeling very good yet. I'd love to make a hutch for my daughters kitchen (with my dad's help of course), and my little man got a very time intensive quilt when he was born (tradition!).
I also had a contest on my blog for my friends to guess date, time and weight of my baby, the prize is something handmade by me, so now I've got to come up with something to match the winner. Those fat quarters could come in VERY handy!
Congratulations on your 600th post, that is quite an accomplishment. I wish I had you discipline my blog postings are very sporadic.
I am going to make some pillowcases for some young folks. They are simple to make and always well recieved.
Congrats on your 600th post! For Christmas I'm hoping to finish knitting my husband a pair of thick slipper socks and a cabled vest and a sweater for me. His will get done first though.
Love that fabric!
In January, my entire family of in-laws are headed to Disney World, so for Christmas I'm making them all personalized fabric luggage tags. I had also intended to get some quilts finished for my boys' beds, but they probably won't be done until their birthdays in the spring . . . ;)
I have a stacked coins Christmas quilt 2/3 thirds quilted. I hope to have time to do a matching pillow. Thanks so much for each and every one of your posts! Love your work!
In our family we draw names for Christmas. On my husband's side, I drew my MIL and made an Irish Chain quilt (http://caroline-thinking.blogspot.com/2009/04/progress.html) that I finished a couple months ago. In my family I drew my mom, and I'm making her an Amish style quilt (that's what she asked for!). I'm also making Doctor Who scarf for my husband. :)
600 posts! Congrats! I have enjoyed following your work for a long while now.
I am planning to give 15 small tote bags to all of the little kids on our list- daycare friends and young cousins. I am using store bought denim bags and fusing the first letter of their name on the front- using some fun fabrics from my stash.
Looking forward to the next 600 posts!
I don't comment often, but I do read every post on your blog. Congratulations on #600!
I'm making cross stitched ornaments for my three children and for one of my nieces. I also made quilts for my sister and aunt and one for each of my three children. My sister's is done except for the label. I'm waiting to get the other four back from the quilter so I can get the binding done. My aunt's will go in the mail and the quilts for each of the kids will be on their beds Christmas morning.
