using up every last bit

This morning I sewed up these cards made up of fabric scraps and card stock.

They are so much fun to make.
I love how they use up the skinny strips that are too thin to use for anything else.

These pink ones will be making their way to a good friend who loves pink.

And a new puppy, Daisy, came to live at our house. We love her! Thanks Linda!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

How do you finish the edges of the fabric? Do you stitch it on or glue it?

The cards are VERY cute!

tara,

they are just sewn on with the raw edges exposed. much like the cards in denyse schmidt's quilt book.

I like the cards but what do you do with them?

Amanda Jean said...

sandyquilts,

write a note inside and send them in the mail. :) the strips of fabric are sewn onto a rectangular piece of paper, then I attach that piece to a blank card with double sided tape to hide the messy backing.

Hmmm. Thanks for the idea! I hate those skinny strips, but now I have a *real* reason to keep them!

I love the cards also! Can you please add me to the quilt-a-long? I am thinking about trying it in navy and red, but we'll see what I find at the fabric store tomorrow!
Thanks,
Amanda

I love that you use every last little bit of your fabric... and create such pieces of beauty with what others would toss away.

I love this blog and being able to see what everyone is doing. I am only a novice quilter so don't feel that I can do what you all are doing. I just finished my third quilt and it is because of you Amandajean and all who are noted on the right side of your page.

I love the cards! I made a few last night -- after midnight, I was so excited about them -- and I bought blank cards just now to make more tonight.
