quilt-a-long week 6
Welcome to week 6 of the quilt-a-long! Here are my first 6 blocks. (They are not sewn together.) I wanted to lay them out to see how they look, and I am thrilled with how pretty they look when they are together. I can't believe that I have waited this long to make a quilt with 30's fabrics...I'm loving them.
for this weeks block:
cut 8 squares 2" from your background fabric
cut 8 squares 3 1/2" from your background fabric
cut 8 squares 2" from a colored fabric
cut 4 squares 3.5" from a second colored fabric
layout as shown

Thanks, another great one. I'll start sewing as soon as I can.
oh, i love this amanda. it looks great! i may have to join in here.
thanks so much, Amanda Jean! I have REALLY felt myself grow in this 6 week period, and I truly have you to thank.
This has been SO much fun.
And your fabric choices are really great - it looks great together.
I've made some fun choices, but each block is a different color scheme entirely, so it will be curious to see how I mesh them all together!
Ooohh..I like this one!
It realy looks great Amandajean! I’m glad I switched from my Moda summer in the city to the Beginnings fabrics from the 30’s! The new block looks great. Thanks again!
oh I love this block!
and your colours too.
pretty! Been following along and thought of you when I saw this post with new stamps quilt squares (not sure if you're a stamper, but I thought it was worth passing on since you're a crafter for sure)

Do I even need to mention that I'm not half done. Next week I'm catching up.
Looking great! I love 30's fabs, but haven't used them much. I'm afraid I'm behind again since I'm trying to finish Christmas presents up! I'll catch up after Christmas... How are your holidays coming?
I love how clean your quilt looks. So bright and springy!
Oh, no, I'm falling behind!! Maybe I'm not the only one this week before Christmas. Our family gathering is the 23rd so after that I can sew, sew, sew. Thanks for the great blocks.
So I am behind also, but the plan is to start with this weeks and work backwards until I catch up. And I am SO guilty of buying new prints for this! But I am trying to use the backgrounds I have. Fun to see it come together!
Your squares are looking lovely together - I love how you've used different colors throughout but how they all compliment each other so nicely.
Amanda Jean, thanks for the blocks , I finished mine a few minutes ago. Hope your family had a wonderful Christmas
Your quilt blocks are looking lovely together AmandaJean! :)
I have finally caught up and am ready after a Christmas and New Year's football watching break.
This quilt is so much fun to do week by week.
Thanks
Thanks again Amandajean! This block looks fun and simple!
