My craft room is looking quite "worked in" and I need to clean it up before my husband evicts all my stuff. He's a patient man, but even he has his limits! I plan to post some after photos if/when I see this cleaning project through. It might not look THAT bad, but that's the beauty of photography vs. real life. Ha!Sew Organized for the Busy Girl by Heidi Staples at market over the weekend. I LOVE the cover....I would have bought the book just for that! I started reading through it this morning and I have a feeling that it is going to help spur on my craft room cleaning. Hurray for perfect timing! It was great to meet Heidi, too. She's super sweet!
hopefully I'll get some hand quilting done on this baby, too! This is the one time that it's handy to have a lot of works in progress. :) All in all, not a bad way to spend a blustery Monday!
For all of you who were asking questions about pin cushion construction in the last post, I can certainly do a post about it at some point soon. Stay tuned!
Happy Monday to YOU!
so many of us have to have hand work in our hands if we are trying to sit still - relax and hope you feel better soon. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about your trip to quilt market
I can't sit with my hands idle either so there's always something on the go - usually knitting for me but I have plans for some butterfly appliqué soon!
Your "galaxy of six-pointed stars' is amazing! One of my favourite pattern :)
I hope you feel better soon. I can't imagine Market (and all it entails for the pros) on top of all the end of the school year May madness! I have ambitious list of garden and sewing projects that I am not going to get very far on due to all the concerts, field trips, track days, awards ceremonies, etc!
In the same vein--I cleaned my studio and posted about it! Then I was sick this weekend, but didn't feel quite like working on ANY project. Feeling better now, hope you are too!
My craft space/extra bedroom is in desperate need of cleaning, I need to jump on the cleaning bandwagon! Lol. Your craft room looks so fun to work in. :)
You definitely need some R & R. Get well!
Glad you are home and able to rest.
What a great cover of a book! I look forward to hearing what you think.
And I think your sewing room looks very organized - I bet you can find stuff in there!
Hi! You're right about the photo because your room doesn't look very messy to us. I love the crochet rug! and of course all your quilts! I'm also just starting to clean and put my sewing room in order - that book looks engouraging! Greetings from GREECE! x Teje
Great to have you home again! And, no, your sewing space doesn't look that bad in the photo!! I love Heidi's blog - lucky you, meeting her in person.
Your craft room looks delicious! Very spacious and airy. You can clean it up, but bet it looks the same in just a couple of weeks. That's the nature of the beast!
Get well! :)
AmandaJean, I hope you are resting again today; spring colds are a beast as you know. So cool to feel your energy tho from Quilt Market! I too have been following and eyeing Heidi's book!
Total organization is needed in my sewing space/shared room. I'll take any tips you have or glean from Heidi until I can get my own copy. Thank you so much , always, for sharing the funny and sunny side of life:)
I spent the morning picking up the remains from my craft swap and several other projects. I have a clean slate to work with and a Wip to get back to. I was so pleased with myself that I went back in later to just drink in the zen. Hope you are feeling better soon.
I took the liberty of looking really closely at your sewing room photo....and all it did was make me want some time alone in there with all your various stacks and piles and stuff!!! How do you ever emerge??? What a great room!!!! :)
Hope you are quickly feeling better but in the meantime make satisfying progress with those hand stitch projects.
Love your EPP stars quilt...can't wait to see the finished thing. Good luck getting your craft room all tidy...and then making a big creative mess in it all over again :-)
Sorry you are sick but now you are home and can rest and get well. There is an old saying - A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind. I think an untidy studio is a sign of a creative mind. Only tidy what you need to and keep creating.
My energy was zapped by a cold at the end of last week. Not fun.
I hope you get plenty of rest so you feel better soon.
Which room is the colorful rug for?
Hope you feel better soon. That book cover reminds me of Jane Jetson. It just looks space age.
I love your pretty little star quilt -- I'll have one of my own someday LOL. It was SO fun to see you at market. I'm beat from all the excitement -- I'm pretty sure I fell asleep several times while driving home. Will send your e-mail when I get caught up -- hopefully before the end of summer LOL!
good to read you are home with your other halve for a while. Hope the cold clears soon but enjoy your time relaxing before you tackle the clear up, how lucky are you to have such a big work room. Hand work looking good
Did you meet my friend Jodie Ric Rac at Market and did she tell you how much I love you!!
I was so exhausted from Quilt Market that today's the first day I've sat down to read my blogs -- and aren't you the sweetest to post my book on yours! I hope you find some helpful stuff in there. I can't tell you how much I loved meeting you in person at last!!
Hi - I am hoping you'll give us a market report. I go to fall markets but not springs markets, so I am wondering if you could summarize the latest trends and share your overall impressions. Thanks!
Feel better soon.
Love this quilt! The color lines are super cute.
Hope the cold clears soon; they're never fun. I always feel like I'm moving through a swamp whenever I get one.
I've never been to a quilt market- is that like a farmer's market, but for quilters?
