retreat weekend

Welcome to finish it up Friday!
I don't exactly have a finish to share today because I have been busy getting ready for a big weekend. I have a very special house guest visiting, which caused a cleaning frenzy in my daughter's room. I guess I can count that as a finish. It was no small feat.
It's retreat time, again! I'm headed to Gruber's for the weekend.
I've packed up my gear and enough projects to last 6 months. Ha!
I'm looking forward to a weekend of laughing until my sides hurt with some awesome ladies. Oh, and I might do a little sewing along the way, too.

Thanks for all your kind comments on my last two posts. You guys are so sweet! I appreciate your encouragement as I delve into a new level of crazy with my scraps! It should be a fun journey.

Please link up your finishes of the week. Thanks for joining me for finish it up Friday!

Enjoy the retreat - plans for our 2nd annual one is underway and it's so exciting. How will you ever choose what project to work on with all those choices?!

One of my favorite quilts in the first pic!! Can't go wrong with classic scrappy IMO.

Have fun this weekend! I will miss you all terribly! First time in 3 years that I can't make it to Grubers. Looking forward to seeing pictures of everyone's projects.

I am here as a new follower - and because of you and your friend Cheryl deciding to write a certain book (Sunday Morning Quilts) you have now found a person who can't seem to put it down and LOVES THIS BOOK!!! And I am telling everyone about it, and why I love it and why they should get their own!! ;) and they should - Honeslty, I went through it, page by page - that was alot of reading, good information, but I wanted to 'know' who wrote the book - and it's also more anticiapation for what comes next... and you did not dissapoint!! When I was done, I went back and marked off my most-likely-to-make; but since looking again, and again! I have more marked on this every growing list!!

Thank-You so much for the work you put into this book!! I love it. Did I already tell you that?? And now, you go have yourself a super fantastic weekend and have a blast!! Can hardly wait to hear about your retreat!!

I dont have a finish this week as we have actually had some really nice summer days here and I have devoted my time to reading instead of sewing.

That packaged iron seems very interesting though. Where can I find one of those carriers for the iron? If you have that information I would be really happy. Seems very usefull tbh.

I wish you a very enjoyable retreat. I'm sure you will have a great time. Thanks for sharing.

What do you use to carry your Juki?

Have fun! I have been going through your book SMQ. Such inspiration! Have made three of your projects in as many weeks. I bought your book last year because i have always loved scrappy and loved the idea of using scraps. This early spring I came to the reality that my scraps have the same monetary value as my FQ or yardage. Yikes. It is exciting though to think of the possibilities. Sometimes my brain cant handle the inputs. Hahaha. So glad I had your book ready and aiting for me to get a clue! Happy Scrappy 101!

Patrice,

This time I just carried my juki without any covering. When I travel with my juki on a plane, I put it in a suitcase. You can see a post about it here:

hope that helps!

Kristy Lou and Smultronbo,

I have a cordless Panasonic iron that came with the clip on carrying lid/handle. I posted about my iron here:

hope that helps!
