bright birch tree kit giveaway

I put together a little bright birch tree starter kit that I'd like to send to a new home. I've collected a huge variety of small pieces (and they are small) but they are perfect for my bright birch trees pattern! The great thing is, most of the pieces are ready to sew up...very little trimming will be required. The kit includes a copy of the print pattern and a tall pile of small scraps...just add the background fabric of your choice! If you don't like small scraps, please do not enter. (Seriously!) :) If you do like small scraps and you'd like a chance to win, please leave me a comment on this post. In your comment, I'd love to hear what quilt project you are closest to completing. (I'm anxious for a finish, can you tell?) I'll pick a winner in a few days. US mailing addresses only this time, please! Thank you!

We use to have birch trees in our front yard and I've always thought they would be a great incorporating into a quilt. Your scrap pile is inticing and I'd love to make the quilt. I always look forward to opening your message. Thanks for all your inspirations. I'm just starting a new project---an airplane quilt for a friend.

I would be thrilled with your pretty scraps and Birch Tree pattern! Your scrap projects are so fun. I hope to finish a Dresden Plate quilt I'm making my daughter who will be married the end of August!!! The Dresdens are all made of scraps from her Grandma's stash. I finished binding it last night and today I'll quilt the negative space around the plates. Does anyone else bind early? It sometimes really works well for me. :D

Funny you should mention completing projects since I JUST (last night) cleaned off my WIP's shelves. 16 projects waiting patiently for completion. This looks like a really fun quilt! I am finishing up on a quilt I call Stunning Universe. It is the first quilt I designed. It uses a 90 degree ruler - stated this as a class from Andi Perejda - making the circle it looks like an optical illusion. I am a scrap person so all material came from my stash.
I enjoy your blog - you are quite the prolific quilter. I have made elephant quilt - it is sew cute. Next your doggie quilt - wan't wait.... but I could change my mind and make this quilt. Wish me luck. Fingers crossed.

Oh, I just love scrappy stitching, Amanda Jean! I'm so disappointed not to be part of your draw as I am in the UK! But I just had to comment as I'm green with envy of the lucky winner!
I'm stitching along with a year long SAL - The Splendid Sampler - at the moment, but other stitching hasn't stopped. Most of my "makes" are tiny patched, quilted, or embroidered items. I started a pink, green and gold quilt by Pat Sloane (Cottage Garden Beauty) some years ago, but as I wanted to use fabric from my stash, and not buy specifically for the quilt, it has slipped into the UFO pile. I have will probably carry on with it soon now, as I have more suitable scraps!
Most of my scraps are quite subdued colours and I would have loved to make a quilt using your bright scraps.
Love your pretty pattern, too, Amanda Jean.
Good luck everyone, and have fun with the scraps whoever wins!

This would be a great win. how lovely that pile looks. I just moved and I desperately need to get my "NEW SEWING ROOM" unpacked so I can complete anything.

This quilt is why I started following your blog, Amanda. I fell in love with the trees firts, then all the tiny bits and pieces. I have been saving scraps to one day make this quilt, but to actually win the pattern and bits from your stash is heaven.....Thank you for a well planned giveaway to someone who loves teeny bits of cloth....

I love scraps!! I am in the middle of a scrap bag challenge with one of my quilt guilds and I am having so much fun. I received a bag of scraps from an other quilt guild member in exchange for my bag of scraps. So far I have made a quilted handbag, a quilted pillow, and a bookmark. I am working on a zippered bag and I will be making a sewing machine cover. This has been so much fun! Thank you for the chance to win MORE SCRAPS!!!

I have really started to love scrap quilts the last couple of years and this pattern is on my want to do list so this would really get me motivated to make it! I love your stuff AND your blog. Can't wait until you come to St. Cloud Heritage Quilters again:-) Thanks for the chance to win

A wonderful giveaway - I just love the Birch Tree Pattern and with some ready-to-use-scraps too!

I'm sewing the binding on a lap quilt for my sister - it was from a kit using a fabric line called Melodies designed by Sarah Campbell.

Next in line to finish is my Red Bird and Berries quilt - just needs a little bit more quilting in the border.

I would love to win this! :)
Unfortunately, I have nothing on the sewing machine right now! I finished up a couple of commissioned quilts a few months ago, and have been taking a break while doing some knitting. So that's my WIP at the moment...knitted mittens! :) At least I would be able to jump right in on the birch quilt if I won it! heehee

every time I see this quilt I want to make it - would love to work with your pattern and scraps! I am getting ready for my youngest daughter and her family to arrive next week - they are coming to celebrate the triplets 5th birthday on the 9th. I have finished sewing all the blocks for a "chainlink fence" quilt (moda bake shop) and will finish the pressing then will set them aside until after they leave to assemble. I also hope to get the binding stitched to my "little trips" quilt I made with morris fabric leftovers - I may have some time to do some hand stitching and I do enjoy stitching bindings on.

The closest to being finished is a princess castle panel quilt. The borders are ready to go. I had carpal tunnel on my right hand Monday so I'm taking a short break for maybe another day. Love the pattern and scraps.

Well I've actually taken a short break from quilting because I'm working on a sun hat for my grandbaby girl. But I do have two table toppers waiting for me with just the binding to be hand stitched to the back!
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I actually just finished a wall quilt for my oldest granddaughter who will be a senior at the University of Alabama this next year. The quilt showed a red elephant on a gray background. I named the quilt "Allie." I have a picture on my iPad but I don't know how to add it here. Now I am starting a lap quilt for her graduation gift which features a large red A. I'm accumulating a lot of scraps and love it! I recently finished a beautiful quit for my niece's baby - she loved it because it was handmade. I love your birch tree quilt! Actually I love all your quilts and projects. I'm currently in the process of planning a quilt for my nephew's baby due in November. Planning is one of my favorite parts of the process. I love taking ideas from several patterns and making them my own.

I am closest to finishing an appliqué wall hanging from several years ago, picked up and put down repeatedly. But I always come back to it. Hopefully it will be completed this summer.
But there is always time to work on a new project.

And I STILL have tons of scraps. Right now I am working on a patchwork of 4 inch squares. Somehow they are my favorite size to work with. Thank you!

I just finished a big one (that I can't blog about yet!) so the one I'm closest to finishing is still in early stages. It's a design celebrating 100 years for the local library.

I love small scraps and would love to see someone else's collection of them. Each one is unique!

The birch tree quilt is my favorite! I love scraps and and was inspired to sort my smallest pieces after reading your method in Sunday Morning Quilts. I'm collecting modern prints for a scrap vortex, but in the meantime, I have two baby quilts, each using one charm pack, that are ready to quilt, so those would be my closest to a finish. Of course there are lots of quilt tops and quilts in progress, too. I loved the dish towels with the mini-charms and made some for gifts. Now I just have to finish the two for me--a nice quick satisfying project. I get so many ideas from you--thank you for your constant inspiration! I would LOVE this kit!

I really like using scraps and have bought scraps on eBay to add to what I generate. Your birch tree blocks are special to me. I grew up in Northern Vermont in the midst of many birch trees. Our Christmas Yule Log would be a length of a birch limb with holes for candles drilled as the Dining table centerpiece with greens and Christmas balls around it. Thank you for the chance to win.
