Welcome to finish it up Friday!
Today's (start) and finish is a cute little project that you could probably make in less than an hour. Be warned, you MAY want to make about 100 of them. I know I want to!
There is a tutorial for the pixie basket here. Thanks, Heidi! This was the perfect project to brighten up a rainy day.
I used scraps to make this basket, of course, including the measuring tape pieces. They are actually from the selvage of the fabric. I couldn't bear to throw it away, so I'm thrilled it came in handy today. Hurray for saving everything! :) This is scrap project #127!
I can't wait until my daughter comes home from school so we can squeal over the cuteness together!
It feels like another giveaway week. I will randomly select a few winners (from the comments and the links) to win their choice of 3 of my PDF patterns from my pattern shop, just as a thank you for reading and joining me for finish it up Friday!
Now, it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Have a great weekend! xo

Oh, how cute! I love the measuring tape handles!
Wouldn't those be cute used as gift boxes? Need to figure out how to close them, but it would be fun to give a useful little box as part of the package!
What a cute basket! Did you stitch fabric to the reverse of the selvage? Wondering how you avoided the raw edge and couldn't tell from the photo.
I had so much fun making mine yesterday! Love the selvage!
That is so cute!!! (every time I open or close my box of clips, I grumble about what a positively STUPID design the box is ~ so a sweet little basket to hold them is perfect!)
Super cute! I have 4 quilted placemats ready for binding to finish them up- better get to it!
Super cute! The handles are adorable!
Very cute little basket. I have to say I really llok forward to Fridays because of your Finish it up Friday posts. I love looking through all the links.
Cute! I'm in the middle of some very dense quilting, so nowhere near a finish to post. Maybe I'll break off to make some adorable baskets or drawstring bags just so I can feel like i accomplished something!

aj, I just wanted to thank you for the time and effort you put into this linky party each week. We just lost one I used a lot for Wednesdays, and it made me realize how much I rely on linky parties. They are the lubricator that keeps my quilting moving along. I'm sure this community feels the same way, thank you.
Oh this basket is great! I need something to collect my bits and pieces that are flowing around my sewing machine (you know spools, pincushions, scissors, clips, ...) and this looks perfect!

Yep you did it. I was thinking about these baskets but went "No I've got other things to Finnish". Now I give in and I'm going to try out my new sewing table and make a quick something just for me. Thank you.

These baskets are really sweet. I make a similar one for friends as gifts which I then fill with whatever I feel like. Almost all of my friends have had these, or even a set of matching ones, but it occurred to me the other day that I don't have any myself so I need to rectify that soon as they are are fun and useful.
Oh that is cute!! And how fun to count your scrap projects!
I'll be making some of these, they look perfect for just about everything that is laying around in a big mess on my table right now!
These are cute and I was thinking they might be a good favor for a wedding shower that I'm going to for my niece. I can so totally relate to 'squealing with your daughter'.
Really like the little measuring tape loops! How cute! I don't like to throw anything away at all. Thanks for the ideas.
Magnifique !! Est-ce possible d'en faire 100 !! Essayons avec 1 et puis on verra.
Merci pour le lien et l'idéé.

I bought some cloth tape measures off Ebay. They were cheap but until I started using them I didn't realize that the scale was wrong. 1" on the tapes actually measured 1 1/4" in reality. So I have a bunch of tape to use for handles. I might need to make a bunch of these just to use them up. :)
that is so adorable! I would squeal too :). definitely going to make me one.
ooooh how cute! Going to have to make a couple of these - thanks heaps for the tute! <3
I love this little basket but even more, I love that you squeal with your daughter!! That made me smile!!!

Great idea to use the selvedge. I will have to remember that!
I finished my text quilt this week; really happy with the results.
Howdy, miss creative spirit! Thanks for brightening my morning. I have been feeling the AJ love. I pulled out one of my oldest wips and it Originates with you. It's part of my bigger project but now I find myself running upstairs to get one more seam sewn. Care to venture a guess??? Xo
Such a cute wee basket! I can see where making these would be addicting. I haven't even made one and I already want a dozen!

I'm squealing along with you. It's so cute!
Oh this basket is soo cute!
These look brilliant and perfect for lots of bits and bobs.
These look like so much fun to make and an added bonus - practical.
I just might have to sacrifice my cloth tape measure for this.
Cute basket. I will have to make some this week.
A very squeal worthy finish to be sure!
I have a little basket like this, but more square, next to my machine. I use it for all the sewing garbage that accumulates like threads and trimmings.
I agree--total cuteness! I've checked out the tutorial and can see making several of these, too. I tend to make piles of things like basting pins and thread all over the place--so these are really going to clear up space. Thanks, Amanda Jean!
The little bitty containers are so cute! I'm going to be making a few (100?)too! Snowing here today. Thanks for doing a giveaway too!
Your Pixie basket is so cute!! It will be fun to make one, too. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

Really cute. You always inspire me to sew.
Thanks for a chance to win. Love the little basket. The measuring tape handles are just so cute.
Adorable! Something else to add to the "to do" list!
Beyond cute! Love that you used selvedge for the handles - totally see why you couldn't throw those out.
Thought I might make it pass the weekend without making a pixie basket, but now I think resistance is futile. :o)
I am going to run and make my first Pixie Basket. Then I'm going to build a Pixie trap, trap myself a Pixie, and fill my home with Pixie magic! I think I'll name my Pixie Amanda Jean. Then I'll be able to sew at Pixie lightening speed!
That little basket is eat up with cuteness. You have many patterns that I would love to possess and make. You know the age at which I can quit quilting is growing by leaps and bounds- I am up to 250 yrs, I think. poladydwd(at)yahoo(dot)com
Love the little basket. I can see a lot of those in my future (when I find the time).
