So, my long time on-line friend Carolyn has too many scraps...and together we'd like to put them up for adoption. If you would like to win this stack of scraps, which would be perfect for a scrap vortex quilt, please leave me a comment in this post. In your comment, I'd love to hear what your favorite summer time activity is. This contest will be open to US residents only, due to shipping costs. I plan to pick a winner in a day or two. Good luck! :)
Happy, happy Monday to you!

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 452 of 452I love scraps and making scrap quilts. Another persons scraps will be my treasures. Our favorite summertime activity is camping.
My husband and I are currently empty-nesters with three kids in grad school. Our favorite summertime activity lately, here in Atlanta, has been going out for a soft serve ice cream late at night and driving around with the top down. It's our own mini date night, fun for a couple that has been together thirty years.
A favorite summer activity is setting up a tent in the back yard and letting the kids have an adventure!
I love anything on the water - canoe, kayak
sitting on the beach...with needlework in hand
taking hikes and horse back riding in state parks during spring thru summer. adding new fabrics to my two tumbler quilts. love your new ideas
I love going swimming.
In the summer I rotate between gardening, quilting (working on a scrap quilt from Sunday Morning Quilts right now, and relaxing.
Wow! What a nice array of scraps! My favorite summertime activity is sitting out on a beautiful day, under the shade of a big tree, with a great book. Too hot for that? Then my favorite is sitting at my sewing machine in the air conditioning!
So far this summer my favorite thing to do has been taking my older grandkids to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We play in the surf and then go on the rides and eat hotdogs....perfect!
I'd love some scraps! My favorite summer activity is sitting by the pool while my kids swim.
Family vacation with my whole family!
Who doesn't like more scraps, especially if they are from someone else's stash! Thank you for offering this opportunity. My favorite summer activity is to have my 5 year old great grandson come to spend the night, then the next day we go to the dollar movies. 24 hours each week of special time with him. Priceless!
Gardening and I do a lot of hand sewing sitting on our screened in porch.

We love to take our kids fishing with my parents in the mountains of Utah above their home.
My sewing room is called The Scraphaus, and I prefer scrap sewing. My room cat is called scrappycat, when not there, I like to travel 300 miles to the beach, taking scraps with me for blocks.

Those scraps look so fun!
My favorite summertime activity is when my kids and grand kids come over for bon fires. We roast hot dogs and make smores.
New at quilting and would love the scraps, for the summer I'm learning new things such as swimming and quilting. I am in a guild that donates what we make so this would be great.
A favorite of mine in the summer is taking leisurely walks after supper! renae1225@gmail.com
I love drinking a glass of wine with hubby in the gazebo that he built.
I love to spend time with my husband walking on the beach. In San Diego, we have so many beautiful beaches to choose from!
My favorite summer activity is watching fireflies. I'm from a part of the country that doesn't get them, so it's still absolute magic to be able to watch them. Meanwhile, I'm collecting scraps to finish a quilt my great-grandmother started. It's made up of the tiniest grandmother's flower garden blocks that you would ever want to try to sew.
I wanted to be commenter #445! :) in the summer I love sitting outside in the sun to relax. Also eating dinner outside or eating breakfast on the porch. Thanks for the scrap giveaway. Have a great summer!
Watch the flowers bloom!
Your scraps are pretty!!
My favorite summer activity is when my kids and grand kids come over for a bon fire to roast hot dogs and make smores.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I love to take walks on the beach and capture the sunset in a photo! I am obsessed with sunset photos!
I would love to adopt the scraps! I like to be outside and play in the garden.
Our favorite summertime activity is when our daughter and grandson come to visit. They live in Tucson and we live in Atlanta and we are so happy to have them visit for 3-4 weeks.
Hello, actually my favorite summer past time is a few things all the fun stuff going on at my church and enjoying watching the children learn, quiet time which mine has become all quiet time as I am going deaf we just found out for sure yesterday but reading inspirational books or Christian Novels but absolutely most of all I love making quilts for chemo patients and the NICU and children's ward at a local hospital except I am running out of fabric and with so many doctors appointments to try to come up with so.e reason why I am going deaf I just cannot afford to buy even the smallest amount of fabric right now. I would use these scraps to put together the best looking patchwork quilts and stretch it out to help as many patients as I possibly could. I don't believe in waste and you rarely see anything except extreme selveges go into my trash can. May God Bless You and the person that is gifted with these wonderful scraps.
Walking the cliff tops and along the beach with my dogs. also drinking sangria my son makes for me whenever he has a BBQ x
dare I comment? do I need more scraps? oh, well! my favorite summer time activity? rocking on the front porch, and resting after a long day in the gardens or farmer's markets.
My favorite summer activity is doing anything inside where it's cool and air conditioned! Thanks for the chance to win some scraps.
Screen porch and dock sitting at the lake.
My favorite thing to do in summer? Hang out with family...driving to swim team, camps and sharing some ice cream with my son and husband! Thanks for asking....
Hands down camping...trying to visit as many of the state parks as possible
in my lifetime!
Anything BUT the deep cleaning that I always need to do every summer! 3305school@gmail.com
Reading! But then its a favorite of mine no matter what the season ;)
Thank you both for sharing.
Oh WOW - I would love these!! Summertime is our favorite time of year. I think like most, swimming is our favorite, but teaching my 6 yr old son to sew is a close second. He already has a fabric stash building even though I haven't let him sew with fabric on the machine yet. He does love to hand sew!
Taking my sewing kit into the car and making tons of hexies while we drive to our vacation location!
Going to the beach or walking by the water anywhere, followed by ice cream. Or going berry-picking and eating farmstand veggies for dinner, followed by ice cream. Or minigolf, followed by ice cream. (what, is there a theme?)
.
well.... if i'm not too late to join in, i'd like some new scraps to add to my own vortex or hexagon scrappiness fun.
my favorite summertime activity changes with the years. this year, it's kayaking! but it's always spending time with my favorite redheaded kid with lazy evenings not working on schoolwork.
I guess right now my favorite activity is quilting in the air conditioning. I don't care for the heat. But going for ice cream is high up on the list, too.
My favorite summer activity this year has been bowling. Our local bowling alley does $1 games on Thursdays. The kids and I have had a blast every week!
I love going to the beach in the summer! Thanks for the giveaway.
My favorite summer activity has to be playing outside after dinner until it gets dark. I just can't seem to get my kids inside before 9:30 because it stays light for so long here!
staying inside in the air conditioning and reading a book - I am not a summer person
This time of year I enjoy the bounty from the garden
I would just love to win this group of scraps. I take care of my mom. SHe is 91 and I am 60. She is suffering advanced Alzheimer's and I have had her in my home for 12 years. I went to her house and cared for her a few times each week for the 5 years before tha. Normally I would tell you all the great summer experiences we enjpy but recently she has had a few falls she is recovering from. I love my quilting and sewing offers me real therapy to be able to survive the difficult issues involved with caring for such a patient. It is by far the most difficult thing I have undertaken. She lives in my townhome dining room and Ican see her face on the pillow into the wee hours while I peer over my machine. Not only would the scraps help me enjoy the projects they hide within their edges, but financially I am burdened by no longer being able to work. I would love to enjoy the fabric and sit with my mom as the stitches line the miles through them.
It is summer when the lighting bugs come out to play. Thanks Darlene

Grilling dinner outside with my family.
