scraps up for grabs

So, my long time on-line friend Carolyn has too many scraps...and together we'd like to put them up for adoption. If you would like to win this stack of scraps, which would be perfect for a scrap vortex quilt, please leave me a comment in this post. In your comment, I'd love to hear what your favorite summer time activity is. This contest will be open to US residents only, due to shipping costs. I plan to pick a winner in a day or two. Good luck! :)

Happy, happy Monday to you!

My favorite summertime activity is driving fastfastfast home because the traffic is so good (fewer college kids on the road means noticeably better rush hour traffic). :D:D:D

Produce prices are good, when I don't have a garden I take advantage of the sales, and I love being able to take advantage of free fruit. Crab apple season is happening at the moment and I've already canned 2 batches of jelly for Christmas giving; plus I have enough juice to make a 3rd batch. My two favorite activities are cooking and sewing :O)

  170. The Vortex Scrap Quilt looks like an easy (relatively) way to use up scraps. I've seen a few of them, based on your Quilt Along, online.
My favorite summertime activity is our family reunion. We each take turns planning it at different locations but the best part is just catching up with everyone.

  171. Other people's scraps are always so much fun!! My favorite summer activity is eating and sharing all the wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables that taste so much better from the garden. We had fresh corn on the cob last night and blackberries with ice cream tonight. Yum!!!

  179. Oh, random scraps are almost better than a brand new FQ bundle! So many surprises await! Summers for me are very hot here in Texas. I love to be outside, but it's difficult when it's 100 degrees. I like to travel to cooler spots and visit out of town family to enjoy that.

  189. It has been so hot & dry this summer & the air quality so poor so much of the time that I have been staying indoors most of the time. But it gives me a lot of time to quilt & read, my 2 favorite activities. I've recently been doing a lot of scrappy quilts & am running out of scraps, so I'd love to win. Thank you for the opportunity.

  190. Oh how I would love those scraps! I just bought some EPP templates in both clamshell and coffin/lozenge that I would be so excited to use on the scraps! We put an above ground in pools and a deck in our backyard at the end of last summer, so this year my favorite activity is to care for (skim, vacuum, chemical) the pool and enjoy it with my home-from-college kids and husband!

  194. Water skiing under the midnight sun in Fbks., AK. I raised my kids now in their late 30's and early 40's at the lake. My son went to college in Greely, CO. His fraternity thought they'd take the little Alaska(Igloo) boy out one weekend and teach him how to ski.....boy, did they learn a thing or two. LOL We actually beach started, which takes a bit of skill...don't think you can do that in the lower 48 with so many rules. I don't have time this yr to ski, but I did last yr at 62 yrs old. lol

At the present Time, it is so hot on our place ( Alsace , east of France ) that my pleasure is to stay quitte and make hexies with crochet for a "weekender blanket" from the blog of Cherry Heart ( UK). Easy and fun to do.
    Thank you

Riding around in the jeep with the top down with the addition of a 7 eleven Slurpee!
I too have a scrap pile that is not exciting to me since I have used the materials on other projects. Have you ever done a scrap swap? Everyone could receive a new pile of scraps!
