So, my long time on-line friend Carolyn has too many scraps...and together we'd like to put them up for adoption. If you would like to win this stack of scraps, which would be perfect for a scrap vortex quilt, please leave me a comment in this post. In your comment, I'd love to hear what your favorite summer time activity is. This contest will be open to US residents only, due to shipping costs. I plan to pick a winner in a day or two. Good luck! :)
Happy, happy Monday to you!
In the summer I love to take walks with my husband, without our phones, so we can chat without any distraction. It's my favorite part of the day!
ReplyDeleteMe, me! Your scraps are bright and cheery, and I have a LOT of dull stash! My favorite summer activity is hiking although right now it's too hot for that here. ;-(
ReplyDeleteOur favorite summer activity is swimming! It's also basically the only thing you can do outside here in Georgia during the summer. My kids are fish now!
ReplyDeletein the summer I love to read on the beach!
ReplyDeleteI love reading in a cool room!
ReplyDeleteReading, hand piecing wuilt blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love taking the kids to a nearby slow-moving, very shallow river so they can play in the water. In second place is heading up to Lake Michigan!
ReplyDeleteI would love to adopt these scraps! Just starting my stash. Favorite summer activity? If I HAD to choose just one, it would probably be hiking! Haven't done much this summer though, as most of my energy has been going toward growing a baby! :)
ReplyDeleteMy summer obsession is watermelons from the farmer's market. Perfect snacking while sewing.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite activity is relaxing with friends. My scrap bins need some replenishing.
ReplyDeleteMovies in the park!
ReplyDeleteOh would I love these scraps. I love to stay in my air conditioned house and sew and crochet. I live in Texas and believe me it is too hot outside!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on my scrap vortex quilt -- it's monopolizing my design wall!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summertime activity is driving fastfastfast home because the traffic is so good (fewer college kids on the road means noticeably better rush hour traffic). :D:D:D
I am going to take some Summer time to re-explore some our county's museums and sites - many of them I haven't seen since my kids were little (in their 30's now).
ReplyDeleteWatching grandchildren in the pool. These so need to come to my sewing room.
ReplyDeleteSprinkler trampoline!!! I sprinkler flung over the net surrounding the trampoline. Kids love it, and I get such a kick out of watching them!
ReplyDeleteLong walks after dinner. Love the fresh air after being in an office all day.
ReplyDeleteLovely scraps!!!
Dianne
Ooh - I just cleaned out a scrap drawer and would love to fill it again. In the summer I love all of the extra time and sunshine with my kids - riding roller coasters and water slides, long bike rides and especially camping =)
ReplyDeleteFavorite daily activity? Sitting on the beach at the end of the road, reading a book or sketching quilt ideas while my two littles amuse themselves! It's quiet time for Mama which makes everyone happy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite activity is spending time with family!
ReplyDeleteI never seem to have enough scraps! My favorite thing to do during the summer is anything with my kids. My oldest is 22 and my youngest is 13. I love spending the extra time since they are out of school for the summer.
ReplyDelete-Kristie
My favorite summer time activity and barbecuing with my family
ReplyDeleteFav summer time activity: sitting outside after dinner enjoying Popsicles or ice cream while the kids get out the last of their energy for the day.
ReplyDeleteOne person's scraps are another person's treasure! I love watching my dogs play in the lake during the summer. And quilting of course :)
ReplyDeleteI seem to only make quilts from scraps. I make a lot of zip bags and purses so I use the scraps for quilts. This is a great idea! Thanks
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do in the summer is sew. I have asthma and allergies and the heat gets to me. So I stay in and sew.
theturquoisebutton at yahoo dot com
Beautiful scraps! I love to eat barbecued food!
ReplyDeleteThis summer is all about babies.
ReplyDeleteGrand daughters are now just 1 month old.
When not watching their older brother who enjoys
hours being out walking and playing, its time reading
and pockets of stitch time.
My favorite thing to do is sit outside and read a good book while I watch the kids play in the sprinkler.
ReplyDeleteI'd just love those scraps!! My sister loves scrappy wonky stars and I would love to increase my scrap stash to help get her quilt started!! I am not a summer person and I'm melting in this TX heat. My favorite thing would be half price slush happy hour at Sonic. That's an activity, right?
ReplyDeleteI have two favorites this summer - rereading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and quilting. Working on my first quilt after doing a lot of table runners and small items.
ReplyDeletemy favorite summer activity is sewing with my BFF on her enclosed deck at our camp - we have been seasonals at the campground since her daughter was in pre-school (she is 25 now) and we set up our Sewing Central each summer to make quilts and have fun. The scraps would be much appreciated in sewing central by us both.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is to nap on a raft in my backyard swimming pool. I'd gladly give it up the next hot day to work with the scraps!!! Heehee
ReplyDeleteSwimming with my little boy! It's the first year he's LOVED swimming so we're soaking it up!

ReplyDeleteSuch a great pile of scraps ! Summer is travel time for us - going to Alaska in a couple of weeks - fun, fun ! But, always, quilting.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summertime activity is heading to the beach. The sound of the waves is so restorative, it makes up for all the gear that must be lugged when bringing the kids!

ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch! Staying cool is always a top priority.
ReplyDeleteI love long walks with my hubby. I just started quilting and enjoy that too!

ReplyDeleteSame as any other time of year, I like to sew and craft.
ReplyDeleteI plan to make a scrap vortex and these would be my jump start. I actually blogged about your quilt and that it is a must do. (the dogs don't mind my off key singing).
ReplyDeleteI love to bike down to the beach, take a break while listening to the waves, draw a little and then bike back home again.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bunch of scraps.
My favorite summertime activity is canning! I love it and seldom tire of this amazing fun activity. Although I can year around, in the summer I can the most. Produce prices are good, when I don't have a garden I take advantage of the sales, and I love being able to take advantage of free fruit. Crab apple season is happening at the moment and I've already canned 2 batches of jelly for Christmas giving; plus I have enough juice to make a 3rd batch. My two favorite activities are cooking and sewing :O)

ReplyDeleteWater skiing under the midnight sun in Fbks., AK. I raised my kids now in their late 30's and early 40's at the lake. My son went to college in Greely, CO. His fraternity thought they'd take the little Alaska(Igloo) boy out one weekend and teach him how to ski.....boy, did they learn a thing or two. LOL We actually beach started, which takes a bit of skill...don't think you can do that in the lower 48 with so many rules. I don't have time this yr to ski, but I did last yr at 62 yrs old. lol
