ticker tape cards

Welcome to finish it up Friday!

I should really call this post "down the rabbit hole". :) I had a lot of little scraps of fusible web (I use Lite Steam a Seam 2) leftover after making my waiting blocks. Since I have a hard time throwing anything away, I thought I'd use them up by making ticker tape cards.
It was great to attach the scraps with fusible web rather than to sew through the card stock. I used a pressing cloth when I ironed, to protect both the iron sole plate and the paper. They are a little putzy to make, but I think the cuteness makes up for it!
The last slivers of the original Flea Market Fancy and pezzy fabric are being put to use. Yay! Oh, and there is some Henna garden fabric in there, too. (It did occur to me when making these that I may have passed the point of no return, but I thought it was better not to dwell on that.) They sure are happy, aren't they?
Each card measures 4.25" x 5.5". These are scrap project #55/101.

Now it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Thanks for joining me for finish it up Friday!

You may have reached the point of no return, but I'm glad you showed us these cards before you got there- they're adorable!!! Such a great idea….

Cute cards! I never thought of using fusible on paper. By the way, I'm not sure if you did it on purpose. But there is something weird about the linky this week?

Great for using up tiny scraps, which I hate to part with. Ideal for sending to quilty friends! Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas.

Kat,

Yes, there is something weird about the link up. I THINK it may be something to do with my new blog template because I didn't change any of my settings in InLinkz. I sure wish I knew more about this techy stuff!

oh my goodness! I HAVE to make some cards like these. As a teacher, I always like to have cards on hand to write little notes to students, parents, etc. This is just awesome, and the fabrics make it so personal!

What a great idea - I can use them as note cards, postcards, placecards! I'm thinking of fusing them to squares and making a mini quilt - so many possibilities. Thanks for sharing.

Talk about good mail! Those little cards are frameworthy and remind me of some I made with appear years ago. I love them.

Those are very pretty! You should frame them!

Those cards are a fantastic idea: totally doing this for the next birthday! :)

I wonder whether little hand drawn quirky picture frames would look good on a more minimal layout? I feel my creativity firing.

I love what you do but I have just given up on keeping those little bits. Now I look at this and think why? Don't know about the linky thing. I think they have changed their set up when I went to look. I hate techy things changing!! It does make it difficult to see what others have finished but we will persist as I love seeing what everyone has done.

Yes, they are happy and give me an idea for my cousins quilt retreat this fall - NAME TAGS! ha like we won't know each others names? :)

Oh, that is just the most adorable, clever idea EVER! I love it so so much. I have little baggies of tiny little strips and selvages that I've been using to decorate brown paper for wrapping gifts, as little bows and ties and "ribbons", etc. This is FANTASTIC. I'm going to make some cards tomorrow and use them for Thank You's, Thinking of You, etc. I miss the real handwritten mail and try to send "real" mail to my granddaughters. I'm rambling on and on, you have me so excited. LOVE IT!!

I love this Amanda!!! I've made some in the past but like this method of no stitching through the card.

I love these cards! What a great idea! I make a lot of cards, and have made some using fusible web. Now I have to try this method. BTW, I've been feeling really stressed, too, about several deadlines coming up. I finally decided to give up on one of them. Finish the quilt, but do it later,so I'll have time for some of the other projects, and not feel too pressured. Made a world of difference for me.

Have a great vacation. See you when you get home.
