I finished my economy block quilt top this morning!
This will be for my oldest brother.
He's my only sibling that hasn't gotten a quilt from me yet.
(The other 5 have.)
I love the moody color scheme.
It's so appropriate for this time of year.
I made 88 blocks for an 8 x 11 layout.
It measures 66" x 91".
You can find the measurements for the blocks here, if you'd like.
Happy Wednesday!

What a great color scheme. I'm sure your brother will love this quilt.
the contrast in colors is perfect. it makes me think of the block in a whole new light, so thank you!
Fabulous! Please may I be your new sibling?!?
totally awesome. I've been seeing those blocks done as I spy quilts which are totally cute, but not something I could pull from my stash. I am loving your color scheme. Any idea of how many different fabrics you used??
Love it! Well done!
Palette perfection. Lucky brother
What a great contrast against the snow! The color scheme is very manly and I bet your big brother will appreciate the warm hug.
Great job! A+
it's perfect!!! Love the color scheme soooo much!
I love it! Great color scheme. This would make a great Quilt of Valor.
Fantastic! Love the colors too. I just started mine today and it seems so far away from that!! :)
Perfect quilt for a man.
Absolutely beautiful!
Perfect!
I love those economy blocks!
I have a huge trash bag full of men's dress shirts I got for $1. I have washed them and plan on cutting them up to use for a 'masculine' quilt. I think I just found the pattern I am going to use with this economy block.
I love how you have used a limited colour palette! Perfect!
handsome!
very nice -- I know he will love it!
I love this!! I'm coming out of lurkdom because I am so taken with this quilt! You always have such a knack for colors - you are constantly an inspiration to me. I made this pattern many years ago in different colors and it looks so completly different from yours. I daresay I like yours better! Thanks for all the ideas, inspiration and motivation! Okay - back to lurkdom! :)
Great colour scheme. I can see myself giving in and making a few of these blocks soon.
I love the way this turned out. The colors are great!
Very handsome, a perfect quilt for a man.
Amanda, this is absolutely gorgeous. The greys are wonderful in it - the mood, as you say, is not dark, though. It is richness itself! Very nice.
And thank you for the measurements; I might make one someday!
Best,
Candice
A beautiful quilt and a lucky brother!
The blocks work so well with this manly colour scheme! Great gift and it looks amazing in the snow!
I really adore this colour combination. I have been wanting to do one with my novelty fabrics but I love the neutrality of yours. I hope your brother loves it as much as your readers do.
Love this! seriously so masculine! Nice job. I always say this don't I, well I really mean it.
It looks fabulous! I bought Sunday Morning Quilts last Thursday and since then have been dreaming scrappy patchwork - and reading the last couple of years of your blog on my kindle late into the night! Thank you for reigniting my passion for sewing - it has been dormant for too long! I'm off to read some more of your archives to inspire tomorrow's sewing :o)
Now your brother can quit pouting, right!! The other 5 may be jealous even. Great quilt, Amanda!!
Inspirational! Thanks for sharing.

Stunning! I love the color combinations and the solid centers! Again, I am amazed at the fabrics you must have at your fingertips!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out! Love that your eye catches stars, and they hour glass blocks, and then the square in a square! Love the color palette also! I know this has been said, but (I really don't have a sister :( ) Can I be your new sister????
Great job AJ!
It's wonderful! What a fabulous quilt for a male. If I didn't already have such a long list of quilts to finish I'd be rushing to make one just like it!
Great colours and pattern for a man! How do you manage to make do many quilts!!? Xx

Love how this looks, color and design! Then again you always do lovely work.
I'm really loving the color combinations. I wasn't all that sold on some of the other economy block quilts I was seeing, but I love this one! I might have to try my hand at one.
I love this...the colours are fabulous!...Perhaps I should get out my homespuns and mens shirts and have a go...they would be great for this block!
