Welcome to finish it up Friday!
This week wasn't an easy one for finishing anything. I'm sure you know how it goes! These bowl blocks have been hanging out on the design wall for a long time and yesterday seemed like the perfect time to finally finish them. I made the first block at a paper piecing retreat that Penny taught, in April of 2011. (Sometimes it's better NOT to think back at the dates....it's frightening!) The mini mats finish at about 10" x 12"....larger than a mug rug, smaller than a placemat. Perfect for holding a hot bowl of soup. I can't wait to use them!
Since the borders and bindings are scraps, I'm totally counting them toward my goal of 101 scrap projects. They are #25 and #26.
Once again I am thankful for the motivation that this link up party brings. Thanks for joining me, as always! Please link up with your finishes. Have a great Friday!

I felt the same way yesterday. I had to finish the one project that was on my wall for a while :-)
These little mats are adorable! Beautiful work! It's always satisfying to finish something that's been waiting for a while!
I'm so glad you shared these! Not only are they adorable - and one sports my favorite Alexander Henry chicken fabric - but just yesterday I was struggling with a hot bowl of soup. Perfect solution. Much better than potholders which are a little small.
These are so sweet - thanks for sharing them!
I love your little mats! Great job! I'd love to eat soup on those, too ;-)
love these!
Super cute!
Great little pot mats. I should be making some kind of pot mugs. I have old bought ones that need replacing.
Those bowls are so cute! What a great kitchen decoration.
I happened to notice the biggest rooster's head is gone. Is there a lesson in that mat?? LOL!
These are gorgeous- dare I try some of my own? Naaaah they wouldnt look this good & I would be crazy jealous :0) well done. Getting harder as Christmas gets closer huh?!
Cute.
Scrappy goodness! Yay for your finish. We are socked in with snow and my fingers are crossed that I will have time to sew or knit.
Love those bowl blocks!
So sweet potholders. Love the colours and the pattern.

Fabulous mats! They are so cute and I love the colours. Amanda thank you for hosting the linky it brings so much joy to all of us! Marie
Wonderful mats!
Love the mats. So pretty! Xx
Oh, the bowl mats are perfect!
A friend was here over the weekend and she wanted to see the quilt tops I've got done ~ I've got several that are needing to be quilted, some a few years old. I'm sure that most of us quilters have the same problem. I love to piece ~ quilting, not so much.
These are so pretty and great for a hot bowl of soup, especially this time of year! I have a few pieces from the class I took from Penny back in April just waiting for the perfect project. Hmmm….this might be it ;-) Enjoy your weekend!
I made three "bowl cozies" today but they aren't as cute as your bowl mats! Great work!
Cute. Looks like some things that might have come straight out of Grandma's kitchen...
great size for soup, thanks for sharing
Functional, and adorable! Love that chicken print on the second one!
