sweet and sassy

Over the past few days I've been working on this baby quilt top. I needed a quick little sewing project for sanity sake. (Have you ever been there?) I used pieces and parts from an abandon project, then I pulled pieces of stash for the rest. I've been stuck in my scrap vortex and it felt REALLY good to cut into some new stuff! The top measures about 38" x 44".

Funny that I would make a baby girl quilt when there are a few boy quilts I need to make. So typical.

Happy Monday to you!

You may have needed to make a boy quilt.... But your stash has other ideas! Lovely top, Amanda Jean!

Nice job. It is nice to make something that goes together quickly.

Is there a basic pattern for this? I'd love to make one. Thanks.

Well, you do have to cut into yardage every once in a while if you want to generate scraps, don't you? Lovely girly quilt top... now go and make a boy one!

Yep, yep. Been there and done that!

I can totally relate...sometimes you just gotta make what you want to make rather than what you need to make. Turned out super cute too. Smiles-Beth

Currently working my way out of a quilting vortex myself. I'm 2 border pieces and a backing away from being able to play with new fabrics, yay! Love your baby quilt. Very cute.

I think this lovely quilt would be fine for a boy. Who made these colour rules anyway?

Of course my favorite part is the grey polka dot centers. :-)

So pretty. Love the colors. Scrap quilting is much more difficult than the other in my mind. So nice to have a break.

I would have used this quilt top for my boy - 20 years ago. If we want girls to be able to be strong, we also need to allow boys their gentle side. Step outside the box. . .

Very sweet, Amanda! I like that the center strips are different widths. Pretty color combination too.

A quick finish just feels so good when you've been in the middle of bigger projects.

Wait.....why is this one labeled a girl quilt? From here it looks to be primarily green and gray in color and the fabrics don't appear to be predominantly floral........so why are you saying it's for girls? I'd give it to a boy. Does it have to be dinosaurs and trains if it's for boys?

Just saying.............
