I'm setting out to make 101 projects out of scraps.
(Yes, I'm serious!)
I'm planning to document them here.
I have no idea how long it will take.
But I am super excited.
I certainly have the scraps for it...and then some!
Here's my first project of the series....a little needle book.
It finishes at 2 3/4" x 3 1/8".
I think I've squealed over this thing 100 times.
Of course I used red and white polka dots for the lining.
The pages are just a bit of leftover batting.
The elastic band previously held a pair of shoes together.
(What can I say? I love re-using little bits.)
I'm really looking forward to the next 100 projects!

Wow can't wait to see what you come up with....
This should be such fun. You are so inspiring. Will the Mini Nines count toward your 101?
Ohhh what a great idea! I can't wait to see more projects. . as this one is grand!
For a woman who seems to only ever work with scraps, I find it amazing that you have any left. :) But I'm glad you do, because I love seeing what you do with them.
So cute! What a great idea, too! It's always so hard to get myself to use up scraps :) can't wait to see what else you make!
What a great challenge! Good luck!
That is so adorable! I seriously need one of those! :-) You must must must tell us who makes that text fabric?
My Sew Imperfect Life,
The text fabric is Hometown by Sweetwater for Moda.

I'm looking forward to the next 100 too!
Great idea! Maybe you can add a section to your blog header where folks can easily access the 101 projects. I'd love to keep a page like this bookmarked on my computer!
If you also need some suggestions for projects, let us know! Mug rugs, potholders, mini wallets, pouches, key rings, rag rugs, etc...the possibilities are endless!
Really looking forward to seeing everything you do. I adore scraps!!
What a fun idea. I am always looking for things to make with my scraps/stash. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
You are so funny. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Nicole,
I LOVE that idea of making a page of links. Thanks for the suggestion!
AJ
Brilliant :)
Brilliant idea! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I see a book in your future...101 Scrap Zakas
I love your fabric..excuse me...scrap choices. This is a perky little project and cute as can be!
You challenge me every day. Think I have to quit my job to follow you. This needle book is so sweet.
That is darn cute, AmandaJean. Looking forward to the next 100 projects!
Looking forward to seeing all the ideas (and probably 'borrowing' a few along the way).
I am not going to try you mini nines project....but I AM going to tag along on this one. I love the idea.
But I might shoot for 25 for a start.
Thanks for the inspiration.
oh and I don't always comment here...sorry...
but I do read every post.
What a fabulous idea!!! Please be sure to share your 101 projects... it very well could rub off on some of us too!!
Such a great idea! I could take a page from your (needle) book!
how ambitious! love the little needlebook.

What a fun challenge! Next you need to make the little business card holder Jodi Nelson did - it's a freebie on Craftsy. It would match your needle case perfectly.
I love this! I need to do something similar for all those tiny scraps I can't seem to part with.
I love you. You make me laugh! I should use up some of my scraps too. My scrap basket(s) overfloweth.
Very cute! You are officially taking crazy to a whole new level ;)
Looks amazing! Always inspiring Amanda. Thankyou
What a great idea! I LOVE using up my scraps for little bitty projects...it's always a challenge to find the right 'scrap' instead of cutting into something 'new'. I think I just might have to give this a try!
Beautiful, gorgeous and inspiring! Thanks for sharing. Marie
Love Scrap #1! Sounds like a book project to me. . .
sounds like a great idea for a book!
I love your new challenge! Such a great way to use up your scraps. We will all be watching. And hey, maybe there would be a new book in the offering :-)
Such a great idea! I'm sure u could make 1001 projects with your scraps. :) I love needle books, though like pin cusions I have yet to make one. Shame! It's in my to do list though.
Great idea, can't wait to see the other projects!
Sweet, Amanda Jean! Can't wait to see what else you come up with!!
Looking forward to what you make next!! Good luck!
The shoe tie is a great idea!! Can't wait to see your projects...I am ready for some scrap project inspiration!
That sounds like a book title to me!
tink's mom,
If I finish the mini nines before I hit 101, yes it will count. That being said, I am kind of doubtful it will happen. :)

What a great idea! Sounds like a new book in the making! Have fun...I'll be back to see what's next!
i love this idea! Scraps and long term. Perfect. Can't wait to see these projects pop up! Have fun!
What an awesome idea!! I can't wait to see what you come up with and maybe make a few (or more) of them! On a side note...I just started making my own needle book today! What a coincidence!
I love scraps and am looking forward to watching you make 101 things. I have already made the little pin keepers with my scraps and gave lots of them for gifts. Maybe I will be able to use some your ideas to use up my scraps. Good luck!
I love it! I can't wait to see the other 100 projects too. I've been thinking about quilt bombing some trees like people have yarn bombed public spaces. That would surely get rid of some of my scraps! ;0
So excited to see the next 100! Your creativity is inspiring and I, too, am a fanatic for scraps. LOVE the wee needle book!
Adorable...very squeal worthy!!!
Can't wait to see more of your projects!
Cute, fun and creative!
What a cool idea! Am looking forward to the next 100..
My website has some more ideas for you, quilted greeting cards, great for using scraps! :-)

Great idea I shall enjoy watching your progress
Great idea! I should try to talk my wife into tackling just the same... even though we barely started quiltmaking in January, we're already head over heels in scraps.
I think working with scraps is my favourite thing! Looking forward to the next 100 if they are as cute as this!
Fab idea! Can't wait to see the projects! I'm sure I'll be making some of them xx
Wowww, great idea! Thanks for sharing us :-)
beautiful work!!!!!!
hugs

Awesome idea, can't wait to see the other 100!!! Love the needle book!
Super cute!
Is there a book in here, I just love my Sunday Morning Quilts and am working my way through it. A volume of small projects would compliment it beautifully.
Interesting -- can't wait for the next 99 too!!
Oh my goodness I have scraps to try to use down. This would be perfect. I might start with this project but add more pages to the book inside. Very cute. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
101 projects, this will be fun.
such imagination and only 100 more top do!!
So pretty! I may just have to make one! This could be your next book.
This is such a cute use of your scraps--can't wait to see the next 100 (!)
What a great, fun, and inspiring idea! Can't wait to see all of the ideas you come up with.
This is super cute. Definetely worth a good squeal. I love my little projects in between the big ones. They make me happy!
Great idea, just call you Crazy Scrappy Mom.
I love small projects so I can't wait to be inspired by all the pretty things you come up with!
What a fun idea - good luck and we can't wait to see what you make!!
Squeal!! Its so cute!!!
Great idea!! Can't wait to see the next 100.
Love it Amanda! Can't wait to see more! Pretty inspiring too!
This is such a good idea! I can't wait to follow along and see the things you make :)
I should make myself a needle case, too! I could use one. Hummm.....ideas forming!
I love the polka dots, this is definitely a project I'll need to keep in mind for batting scraps too, thanks so much!
Fawn
Now I know where the "crazy" comes from in your blog name! Sound like a lot of fun and very inspiring
I love this little book, can't wait to see what you come up with next!
Looks great and what a nice challenge!
This will be great fun to watch!
Cute! I need to make some of these for friends.
Looking forward to all the cute ideas you come up with. What a great challenge. Looking forward to each and every one. Thank you for sharing.
What a fun series! I can't wait to see them all. I love that even the elastic was salvaged!
101 projects or 101 different projects, 'cause at first I thought you meant 101 things and that impressed me, but if you intend to make 101 different things then WHOA!
What a cute little needlebook. Wow I am really looking forward to the next 100 things made from scraps.... Have FUN!!
I just made a needle book today myself!
Fantastic idea! I hope to follow along.
I need to make myself one of these! Thanks for the inspiration and I look forward to seeing what else you make with your scraps. Tow years ago I made a queen sized zig zag quilt out of my scraps and I didn't even put a dent into my scrap pile! I have a lot of scraps!
Amanda this is a great idea. Hy not provide a link so others can share their scrappy projects too
The needle book is super cute! And what a great idea - I've got loads of scraps building up, can't wait to see what you come up with! :)
What a great idea! I don't have that many scraps, being a newish quilter, but I'd love to join you on your journey. The needle case is just so sweet, and just what I could do with right now, so I'm off to make one!
I LOVE THIS!!! :)
I may have to join you on this. My scrap buckets are overflowing. I love the needle book. I have made these before. The scrap version would be very cute to include in monthly 'bee' mailings. I think I'll make a stash to have on hand.
I can't wait to see all your 101 projects. I'm secretly hoping you'll be putting some tutorials up too, because I'm a compulsive hoarder and have so many scraps. Everyone always laughs at me not throwing any of them out, but I tell you - some of those scraps have come in soooo handy!
Anyway, looking forward to seeing them all :)
Great idea. Looking forward to your upcoming posts for inspiration.
I love little projects .....looking forward to this!!!!!
Oh, what a great idea, I can't wait to see what you make!
what a fun idea!
WOW 101 projects? That is a very ambitious undertaking! I absolutely love your little needle keeper, and I look forward to seeing what else you come up with. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Grace
Book marked your page...I love scraps...although I usually make large quilts with them. I'd love to see smaller projects...This is very exciting!
Please post the patterns! That would've awesome.
The needlebook is adorable, but I'd like to suggest having a few "pages". I use a variety of needles for a variety of purposes (quilting, embroidery, hand sewing, etc.) My needlebook as a page for each time with the name written across the "page". Much more practical.
Sweet needle book for Project #1 and jump ahead now to Project #101 ~ Your Plenty of Pineapples Quilt! You accomplished your goal Beautifully!! You should be very proud of yourself! You did an amazing job!! Hugs :)
