I love turning this....
...into this.
Doesn't it scream summer? Isn't it so happy?
Oh, I just love it!
The squares are cut 4 1/2" so they finish at 4".
It's a lovely lap size. 60" x 72". My favorite.
Several scraps are from the lovely miss Anna of Noodlehead, (thanks Anna!) like this lovely patch of pearl bracelets. It's the only red square in the whole quilt, but I had to include it anyway. It's so good!
Several of the scraps are from my own collection, like this long hoarded Heather Ross camper van fabric. Isn't that guy on the van so cute? I love the grey bikes, too! So many fun fabrics in one quilt top. I think this is going to be a favorite for a very long time!

Amazing colours and my favourite pattern - simple patchwork. A lovely quilt!
Simple patchwork is the best!! And this quilt just screams summer, totally brilliant!
Sometimes those square-patch quilts are the most satisfying. Great colors!

Love it! Simple patchwork are my absolute favorite quilts. The colors are absolutely perfect!
This is what I and my quilting friend talked about today!
The simple charm in a quilt with just squares.
Fantastic!
Maja
Gorgeous!!
As usual x
Love it, definitely puts a smile on my face. Any chance at all that you'll be doing another QAL? (it reminded me of your 36 patch). ..... just saying..... :)
Yes!! So pretty, and I agree- have found I prefer to make quilts from scraps. And dinner from leftovers. So cheerful for spring/summer, you've motivated me to go "dig". ;)
Let's see....that makes 93, right? It's a great one.
great quilt
I love it, too. My favorite are the deep raspberry solid squares.
. . . and I told you a few days ago that purple was my least favorite color. Ha! It's all in the context.
I love it too! It's so pretty. Patchwork quilts are always the best because you get to really enjoy your fabrics.
Another fan of simple patchwork! This is a lovely quilt.
Amanda Jean, would you mind explaining how you organize a quilt like this? ie. what your different stacks mean and how you assemble them? I have never figured out a great way to transfer what I have on my design wall to the sewing machine and back again and have it consistently be what I set out to do!
Screams Summer!
It's fabulous!! :) I need to make some time to sew tonight... i'm going through withdrawl! ;) Love ALL your creations!
I agree, there is something so wonderful about a simple patchwork quilt! They are good for the soul.
Very cute!! It is perfect for summer. :0)
You are so right, it is happy and summery! I think patchwork quilts are the ultimate snuggle quilts.
HOW did you choose which fabrics to put in? That is SMASHINGLY lovely~
love to see and can't wait to make mine
It's wonderful!! And, yes...it does scream SUMMER!
terrific quilt!
The sewing room must be up and running!
I love it, great quilt for summer. Good way to use up scraps too.
oh, my!!! Simply gorgeous!!!
I just had to do a "red square hunt" to find the pearls in the big quilt. I felt like a kid again.
Months ago you inspired me to make pieced quilt (with parallelograms). I love it because I can do a little at a time on the couch next to my hubby at night - or take it on vacation.
Oh I can see the seahorse fabric you used for the fabric bucket that is the poster item for your shop! Despite all the wonderful quilt designs out there, this will always be my favourite.
I just love your latest little quilt. That is the perfect size and I love that it has that one red square! lol..

I love this!
Beautiful colors! And just love the camper :)
delightful square, your joins are so perfect amazing how you get them so accurate and good to see so many different fabrics working so well together
The best part of being home alone is catch up some good blog reading. I am so happy to see a new quilt born here. Love the colors. Sewing is the best reward after the big move.
The sewing machine is unpacked - yay for you! This is why I like your quilts so much - they are fun & scrappy. I have some yardage of that same Heather Ross print, only in pink. If you want to trade for some blue...

love it, amanda jean! it's so cheerful!
I love it - there is something so amazing about a simple patchwork quilt!!
So pretty! Simple is good!
I love it! So much fun seeing all the fabrics together. It does look like summer.
It's lovely! So nice to be able to follow your progress on the blog. It ALMOST makes up for the fact that you aren't present at my LQS anymore ;-(.
Love the patchwork! I am also currently making a patchwork quilt for a new nephew (4 and a half inch squares too). What is the best way to piece the squares. I have been chain piecing pairs of blocks and then piecing the pairs to other pairs to make four patches which I'll eventually sew together. Just wondering if this is the best way. Thanks!
Love it!!! Wow-- so beautiful! That pop of magenta just makes it! I saw so many of my fav scraps in there, too :) So inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
Me, too! It does. And it IS.
Great quilt!
Delicious colors. It's very summery. I love it.
I love scrappy patchwork quilts, too :)
I'm so jealous of your scrap stash. Love this quilt and loved that strip scrap bag you made - I had to make one for myself - but it's not near as fun as the fabrics you have! Love the inspiration you send our way on your blog!
Yes, it's happy. Yes, it screams summer. Yes, I love it. Yes, it will be a fave!!!!
I love looking at your little snippets of fabric. Janita
yay! what a boatload of comments you got here. It's really pretty, and before I saw your note I was thinking 'Hey, I recognize that one!" Such a summery quilt, love it.
It's a beautiful quilt. I just love all of your quilts. I think I spy some of the fabrics from your children's big pillows in there. What a great way to sew in all those memories from your other projects.
For some reason it makes me think of sorbet, there's something about it that brings to mind that cool, refreshing, icy feeling. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful color palette! Very fresh!
Just the right mix of solids and prints... It truly is happy patchwork and will be certain to make those who use it smile. There is so much to discover!

The fabrics look so great together. Summery happy quilt, indeed :)
I have to agree with everyone. Your scrappy quilts look terrific. But I, too, will ask: What's the secret to your block corners all meeting perfectly? Any chance for a tutorial to reveal your trick(s) for lining up your blocks and getting perfect intersections?
