Pam's quilt

Welcome to finish it up Friday!

Not a lot of sewing time here this week...but I DID manage to stipple this quilt for my friend Pam. Isn't it beautiful???
I can not stress to you enough just how great she is at piecing. (And picking fabric!) So very inspiring! She did an amazing job and it was a delight to quilt this for her. Flat quilts are much easier to quilt. (Who knew? Ha!) Also, it would be nice if all quilts came pre-basted. What a treat!
Here's the back. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite side. It's so bright, happy and springy!

We could use some spring around here! This was my view from my front window yesterday.
My kids actually had a snow day-in May! And it's snowing again today. Oh, the fun never ends! :)

Ok, enough complaining about the weather. Please link up your finishes! Thanks for joining me for finish it up Friday!

Whaaaat?!!? So I admit I'm not sure where you're at, but at the moment I am glad I'm where *I'm* at! Sending hope for our 80 degree weather and thoughts of springtime your way ;)

Your view looks very familiar right now. Thankfully most of our snow from Wednesday and Thursday has melted, so hopefully it will be the same for you.

My birthday is May 13 and as a kid 2 different years it snowed on my Birthday Party. Love when the weather gets confused and thinks spring is winter. That quilt looks fantastic love how the blocks are not on the square they are amazing.

Wish I could share our Spring with you - it's been amazingly warm weather around here, blue sky mid to high 70's, my heaven. Pam's quilt is so pretty and I love the back.

i looooooove the quilt. It is so cute.

I will not tell you that I live in Florida and it is Spring. I will not. I can't imagine having snow right now. I am so sorry. Hope spring visits you soon.

Snow in May is... well, NOT right!!! :) Crazy! Pam's quilt is awesome. I agree, I like the back as well as the front.

Great looking quilt. Boo on the snow.

Yup, your place looks much like ours (30+miles south of Winona). Ice and rain....hmmmm. Love that quilt and you are so right-it is truly a joy to quilt a flat quilt (until you have one(s) that is otherwise, you really can't appreciate it!). Hugs and warm/melty blessings, Doreen

I've heard of late springs, but this is nuts. Is it normal to have this much snow, this late there?

Maria said...

I'll hazard a guess that you are in MN somewhere. My yard (Hastings) looked similar yesterday. Enough already, right?

I love this quilt, it's darling.
Snow!?! This needs to end.

I feel blessed .. 20 miles away there was 14" and nary a flake here.....

I'm so sorry you have all that snow. On the bright side, you sold your house!! so I bet you can handle anything right now. The quilt is great.

I am so sorry to see the snowy pictures while I have just come back from the pool! I have escaped the country to get my "fix" of sunshine this year! At home it is too cold for the time of the year, but nothing like the weather you are having! I really like the quilt that you have finished! Love the FMQ!!!

The funny thing is just one week ago it was nearly 70 degrees here. Similar for you, I believe since we're not that far apart.

On the radio this morning I heard about some school district in Washington state that's having a "sun" day. They didn't have any snow days this year so they gave everyone a day off today to enjoy the sunshine.

Have faith. Our sunny days are coming.

What is up with all this snow? We had snow here yesterday, too. YUCK!
I love you stippling. It looks so tiny. That's a lot of quilting for a friend. You are too sweet.

oh my, that snow! I live in Oregon and we were able to have a pool day yesterday. My 3 year old son loved to splash around in the sunshine. But it is so uncommon for this time of year here! Thanks for sharing that snow picture!

What a beautiful quilt! And I love the back!! Enjoy your snow..her in Southern California we are dealing with heat in the 90s and horrible brush fires!!

Vicki said...

Wonderful quilt and quilting! How fun to be able to see all of those quilts. It is 93 here. What is worse, this extreme heat (plus wild fires) or the snow?

Nice quilting job. I love the back of the quilt as much as the front. I measured the snow up here (north of you by about 45 miles), between 10 and 11 inches! We have a mess with big pine trees in our yard. Please, Spring come soon!

Ugh, I can't believe you had that much snow. I hate the May snow storms. I managed another 2 hours of raking today.
Love that quilt. What wonderful colours.

Oh my goodness - so much white! We are enjoying beautiful Autumnal weather in Western Australia - feels like a mild summer. I am always glad for days when the washing dries within a few hours of being hung outside. I am loving that green on Pam's quilt! The entire quilt is so sweet. And the more I look at it, the more I think it is very clever - the colours and design are so balanced and appealing. I enjoyed a chuckle when I read your comment about flat quilts being easier to quilt! As for pre-basting, how old do you think a child should be before they are introduced to basting quilts for their Mamma? I'm hoping 9 is the magical age!! At the moment I'm just collecting quilt tops...

I'm sure you're sick of the snow, but it's so pretty! I live on a small South Pacific island and my kids really want to live somewhere with snow lol thanks for hosting, this is my second time linking up :)

Pam's quilt is pretty. I'm sure you had fun quilting it so nicely.

it has still been snowing here too... i bet it will suddenly be in the 90's that is how our spring works! I love the idea of adding some piecing to the back of a quilt--so clever!! :)

Makes me feel better to see the snow picture at your home. It's lightly snowing in Alaska right now. Great quilting weather!

Suzanne said...

Super quilting on that one. I love how the pinwheels on the back are comprised of a triangle from each one of the front pinwheels. It's a great way to pull in all of the fabrics on both sides.

Mama Pea said...

I love the quilt. Both sides!

That snow sucks. So sorry! I'd be so upset if that was happening at my house. Fortunately, we have been spared and are still in the 60s this week (so far!).

Just had to let you know, I just got my copy of 'Sunday Morning Quilts' in todays mail. EXCITING!!

I think since I'm due to finish my Christmas quilt (here on the equator) anyday now that I'll just photoshop it into your May photo there. :) That quilt is awesome! I'm looking forward to quilting this quilt as so far it is the "flatest" quilt top yet. I'd love to hear your friend's tips on piecing!

Sarah said...

The quilt is a real beauty! I can't get over all your snow, in my bit of the UK we've had a heat wave......makes a change from rain!
