mystery quilt top

If ever there was a mystery quilt that is up my alley, this one would be it! It was the perfect pattern for my first foray into the world of mystery quilts. I love the fabrics I picked. I loved the process. I love the results. There was no strip piecing (yay!) and there is a 2" square border around the outside. Perfection!!!
(She's a bright one, isn't she?)
The mystery quilt reveal meeting was held at the library last evening and it was great fun to see all the quilts. I never tire of seeing the options that one pattern can produce. It always astonishes me, and in the best possible way.

The quilt top measures 58" x 78".

Now, I'd better get to quilting something...that stack of tops is piling up!

Yay! We can give up control and come up with a lovely result! The world is mysterious that way. I would love to see a pattern for this.

I think I´m to much of an controlfreak to dare such a challenge!!

Seeing this has made me reconsider joining in on a mystery quilt, the next time one comes along. Of course I like this pattern and I really like your colors and your use of grey as the background. It's a happy quilt!

What a great job! I love it! Great color selection. Yeah, it's bright, but the gray tones it down perfectly....not too much, either. I love it AJ!

Ooh, I really like this! I am usually a traditional or prim type of quilter but lately I just can't seem to get enough of modern quilts.

You Did It! Congratulations on letting go -- it looks great. I LOVE your colors!

love it!!!! love the colors and at least for a mystery it is not a sampler block quilt--i for some reason don't like those. This is great!

What a lovely surprise finish. I'm not brave enough yet but maybe someday I'll let go of control enough to try one. I agree, looking at other quilts from the same pattern using various fabrics is wonderful. I appreciate how Sew Sweetness (I think) has published all of her testers' purses in her blog entry so people can see the options. It helps us new quilters to think outside the box.

This is so cute! I love the bright colors mixed with the gray background. I'm always a little nervous when doing a mystery quilt that I won't like the end result, but this one is a winner for sure!

I love this color scheme. Have a group of fabrics pulled from a few months back using these very same colors. Just haven't gotten to it. I'm still too much of a control freak to do a mystery quilt. Besides, the fact that I always design my own. Good for you for trying it.
