I have a quilt in the March/April issue of Quilty! They called it Kid Potential...but in my mind it will always be 'end of the line'. That's what I called it for the past 2+ years when it was a WIP. :) Whatever the name, it's all about using up those scraps! The finished size is 41" x 56"...so those scraps are pretty tiny. Just the way I like it!
When I was snapping photos, I happened to notice that it looks pretty wonderful with my choose joy pillow! Love it when that happens! Anyway, having to meet the deadline for publication was the perfect push I needed to turn this WIP into a finished quilt. Hurray for finishing!
How about you? Please link up your finishes for the week. Thank you for joining me for finish it up Friday! I so appreciate it!
Super cute!! I love Quilty! Won't this be your second quilt for them? So exciting! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. I love the controlled color in that quilt. I also have a weakness for small scraps.
ReplyDeleteI just received my Quilty mag in the mail two days ago, and .... your quilt is my absolute favorite! I loved it, said to myself, "This looks like it belongs in "Sunday Morning Quilts" and THEN I saw your name as the author and thought, "Of course." Many thanks for this pattern - I'll be sure to use it... hopefully soon!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your publishing :) and I love your mystery quilt from last week. yellows, pinks, oranges with gray . . . absolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! And you're right, it looks fabulous with the pillow :)
ReplyDeleteAmanda
Ooooh -- I'm definitely going to have to find that issue!
ReplyDeleteWow I love your quilt!!!Amanda,Happy Easter from Sweden and Eva-Bambi Johansson
ReplyDeleteThat is a super cute quilt. And you're right, it's the perfect match for your Joy pillow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting again this week. I love seeing other people's finishes. And it helps motivate me to get at least one project finished so that I can share too.
fun quilt and I do love the Choose Joy pillow. My mom put up a little tile the said 'because nice matters'. She said she needed the reminder when she would get frustrated with dad. I think I need BOTH signs!
ReplyDeleteGreat scrappy design! I may have to make one of those soon :)
ReplyDeletePS- End of the Line is totally the perfect name for it, you're right.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is beautiful! I love the bright colors! I'm so impressed with how they all work together for the whole look and don't seem to compete with each other. I think that's what scares me about scrappy quilts.
ReplyDeleteAnother fantastic Amanda quilt! Love it. A lot.
ReplyDeleteOh my Amanda Jean..another great scrappy quilt to use up every little scrap...as the saying goes...'waste not what not'. I luv it, will have to look for the March/April Quilty issue. Happy stitching, Pauline
ReplyDeleteOh so cute. Now I have to go look for that issue of Quilty.

Love it! I also think 'End of the Line' is a much better name for it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
I'm not about to finish anything major in the near future :( love the quilt, nice to see all those odds and ends put to fabulous use
ReplyDeleteI like your working title better for your scrappy quilt! I love a good deadline to get things finished. Somehow, I've been motivated to finish WIPs even without a deadline. I'm crediting my doctor and the mega dose of vitamin D he prescribed!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is amazing! I don't have the patience for such tiny pieces, but the results are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLooks great with your joy pillow.
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to become hard to keep up with all your publications--SO awesome. What a great quilt!

Of course you have quilts that we all don't know about but it's so exciting when they get the grand reveal. I can't believe how small these pieces are. Precious pieces.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt!! I keep enlarging my 'scrap box' to bigger and then filling it up. It's a great place to dig for applique pieces and I could so see this quilt happening in my house! Thanks for inspiring us :o)
