pattern giveaway

My friend Michelle wrote up a pattern for her awesome sew together bag. I'm happy to be giving away a copy of the pattern (in PDF form) today. I'm trying to figure out a way to describe JUST how cute this bag is....but there are no words. You'll just have to drool over the photos. :)
She ticker taped the outside of this one. Of course I love that detail!
You open it up and there are compartments inside....
...and even MORE compartments. It has a place to store needles on one side and pins on the other. It's such a cute bag with lots of great details.

I'm completely charmed that I am now the owner of this bag (thanks Michelle!) and that I didn't have to make it. Since I haven't made one (yet) I can't vouch for the pattern, but I hear from Tara that it's a fun challenge and the pattern is brilliant in terms of construction. And I totally value her opinion. :)

If you would like to win a copy of the pattern (in PDF form) please leave me a comment. In your comment I'd like to hear what quilty thing you are asking for for Christmas.

If you don't win the pattern you can purchase one here.
One comment per person, please. I'll pick the winner sometime on Thursday.
Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Oh, and thanks SO MUCH for all your sweet comment on my new purse! I appreciate each and every one! xo

Not asking for anything for Christmas. We've decided this year to focus on the children in our family. Really the only thing I want is more time with my son and dil. Love hanging about with them ~ always have lots of fun!

Santa is rumored to be bringing me a Bernina 830. This will be the best Christmas ever! (Well, from a toy perspective, anyway.)

Great little bag! I could see making these for birthday gifts this coming year. I need a new cutting mat, and blades for my rotary cutter. Boring, I know but Santa is short on cash this year.

Genious! I can't get over the color use - so MANY prints can be used at one time =) Fingers really really really crossed for this one!!!
If I had the chance to tell what I reallly wanted for Christmas as far as quilty-type stuff goes, it would be an Etsy gift card. So many nice hard to find fabrics, odds and ends in one place. - Merry Christmas!

This bag is awesome! I love all the compartments, yet it doesn't seem to be bulky. I'm asking for some quilting books and Accuquilt Go! dies for Christmas. Thanks!

Such a cute idea. Can't wait to make it up.

That's such a great-looking bag! I don't think I've asked for quilty things for Christmas. It might be nice to have some more quilt rulers in different sizes.

Cute bag!

I asked for a new machine, but that's not going to happen, so I hope 'Santa' heeds my request for more rotary cutter blades, it's so nice to have a stash of them in the drawer!

What a great little bag! I love bags that are little but have a "great punch." I am asking for a bag that doubles as a cute carrier for an iron and when you open it up it is an ironing mat...wonderful for retreats!

Love the ticker tape bag. Am not asking for anything quilty this year -actually nothing of anything much! Just looking forward to two weeks off work and spending time with family and maybe getting some sewing time in.

Amanda said...

And I thought the bag was great before you opened it! The OCD part of me loves compartments!
I think my quilt giftness is tapped out. My husband built me an amazing sewing table (pics on my blog)

I'm asking for a replacement supreme slider since the last quilt I quilted, I decided to sew the slider onto the back. Sigh!

No quilty things on my list. I've been banned from getting anything new until I use up some of my stash. This bag is mega cute! love the little pockets inside.

i would love to win thanks

Such a cute and amazing little bag. I never ask for anything quilty for Christmas. My family doesn't have a very good track record for buying gifts. It's taken me years of "interesting" gifts to convince them to buy gift cards lol.

Kelli said...

Well, I'd like a magic fairy that could give me extra hours in the day...aside from that, I'd love a walking foot for my machine. :)

Karen H said...

Awesome bag! I would love to win - thanks for the chance!

Lara @ Luellabella said...

What a perfect little bag - I can think of quite a few crafty family members that would love one of these for Christmas!

I have asked for an Architextures and a Pearl Bracelets FQ bundle - but considering that hubby has no idea where to buy fabric online, I think I might have to buy them myself in the post-Christmas sales!

hilary said...

Great pattern. Since I don't need anything I told my hubby we would just enjoy the season without gifts.

Colleen said...

o.k., so I have a short attention span - I was supposed to say what I was wishing for for Christmas - and yes, I realize that I was only allowed one comment and this makes two so now I've voided my entry. Anyways - I'm going for broke and asking for a new sewing machine 'cause mine is 30 years old and I can't get a walking foot or quilting foot for it. - 454 comments now

Love the design of your new bag! If Santa could afford it I would be asking for the New (or an older model) Janome Horizon sewing machine. However since he can't afford that A few precuts will be on my list :)

Fran said...

This bag is on my list along with some flea market fancy. :)

Ellie Q said...

LOVE all the pockets. What a neat pattern! Can I ask for more sewing time for Christmas? 'Cause that's what I'd like more than any sewing supply. :)

Donana said...

I'm asking for a couple of fat quarter bundles is all. I'm spoiled the rest of the year so I don't ask for much.

Lisa said...

I asked the Fat Quarter Shops Mini Charm Subscription for 2013. The bag looks awesome! Would love to win. Thank you!

I love this bag! You know what a sucker I am for bags! Hope I win.

I'm asking for Sue Spargo's new book of embroidery stitches. :-) But my husband told me I'm not getting it He already got me something else, he said, by the time I asked for it. So, I ordered it for myself today. LOL.

What a cute bag, I'm already thinking of what I have in my stash to use when I make my first one!
I am asking for shelving for Christmas to give my embroidery attachment a safe home close to my sewing machine (last year's gift). I am slowly introducing embroidery to my quilting and it looks like it's going to be a great long term relationship!

Unknown said...

Darling bag, thanks for the chance to win. I'm hoping that Santa will bring me a AccQuilt fabric cutter, if he doesn't I will probably gift myself with one less then 2 weeks later for my BD.

This is the first Christmas I do not have a Christmas list, I have finally convinced all of my adult relatives to stop exchanging gifts with me! (about a ten year process!) I love giving gifts to the children in my life, I will be teaching my 11 year old niece how to make little pouches and purses this weekend, so that is my quilty Christmas wish.

wordmama said...

Thanks for the chance to win. What a cute bag! My husband recently bought me your book at our LQS, which had been on my wish list forever, so I guess I'm good for Christmas!

I've asked for gift cards to buy fabric. I had a leather bag like this for years and it finally wore out. I hadn't worked up the courage to figure out how to make one. Now I don't have to!! I can just win this one...or purchase, if I don't win!!

janequiltsslowly said...

Such a cool bag! I'm hoping I get Santa to make me a large cutting & pressing table with storage underneath.

Unknown said...

I got a new sewing machine for my birthday in July, and the bobbins are different from my old machine. So, I'm asking for bobbins for my new guy!

Lisa said...

Love all those compartments! I'm just trying to find time to use up what I have, but would love some of those little grippers that go on your rulers to make them not skid.

Jusmom1 said...

I just ADORE that bag and would love to win a copy of the pattern! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

Quilty THING?!? You mean I was supposed to stop at one? Let's see...fabric, thread, new rotary cutter, blades, rotary mat, two books and a drawer unit to store my thread. Think Santa came make it down the chimney with all of that, lol?

I love the style, colours and the design - perfect for taking to quilting classes (which is what I'm hoping for under my Christmas tree)

Jeneta said...

Actually, I asked for your book! To ensure that I was heard, I purchased it myself and had my kids wrap it and put it under the tree (I was VERY proud of myself for not peeking inside your book even once before wrapping!)!
