ticker tape on canvas

I took my ticker tape concept and translated it onto canvas.
Not much to say about it besides the fact that I LOVE IT!
So, I made another. This one is in my chopped rhubarb color scheme. I really, really LOVE this one as well.

Each piece measures 11" x 14".
I'm gonna make more...just as soon as I can!
Another bonus, one more project checked off my small projects list.

OMG. I love this! Did you just glue the scraps down? Modge Podge? I need details!

How fun.

Great idea! I have on my list to do a ticker tape quilt as a wall hanging, but this is a much better idea. Did you stretch the canvas over a frame to hang it? Actually, they look like they're not stitched. Glue maybe?

Love it! I'm going to ask the same question....glued or stitched?

Yes. Details pretty please. I have an empty spot in my craft room that's been waiting for the perfect piece of art. This might just be it!

To make these I started with store bought (pre-stretched) canvases. Then I used mod podge to glue the scraps on. It was quite fun!

I have always loved your ticker tape quilts, but a bit unsure if I could make one look good. This idea is great, did you use modpodge or something over the pieces?

Terriaw said...

Awesome! I love the idea of putting snippets onto a canvas. Did you glue or mod-podge them? Another fun way to display treasured scraps!

I love this! What a great idea for all those too tiny scraps!

This is so fun! I love the look of the ticker tape quilts. Did you attach them with Mod Podge first and then coat them again? Or did you just seal it in from the top with the MP?

So many possibilities with color schemes and such too...

So SO cute. I love this idea for treasured scraps. Mod Podge? Based on all the questions, you should do a quickie tutorial.

Very nice idea! I don't work a lot with bright modern colours but I like your work so much, that makes me wonder: maybe I should try other colours as well?! Thanks for sharing this one.

This is so cute!! Did you cut each piece as you glued them down (in a more random fashion), or did you pre-cut them and plan it all out? I want to do it, but I'm afraid it will look all jumbled.
