happy friday!

I'm finally back from spring break and a blog break...I was feeling burnt out. I'm happy to report that after some time away, I am feeling refreshed! It's friday, the sun is shining, I have a few new projects in the works and I have some Neil Diamond playing in the studio. Good times, good times. I hope your day is going just as well!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my last few quilts. Each and every comment is much appreciated. Thank you! You guys are the best.

The block shown above is going to be for a charity quilt that Heather and I are working on. There is a fund raiser in my community for a woman how has melanoma and has an infant that was born in October. I can't imagine the scary times the family is experiencing. The donation list was pretty weak, so Heather and I are going to donate a quilt for the silent auction. We have 12 days to complete it. You may be seeing a lot of this one. You've been warned. ;)

For next week, I am planning on hosting some sort of finish it up week. I have LOTS of projects in the works and I need a kick in the pants to finish them up. So say tuned. I hope you join me.

Oh, and my grandma loved her quilt! yay! She doesn't have the best track record for gift receiving...even my sister warned me not to be too disappointed if she doesn't gush over it. (So it's not just me being paranoid.) It was nice to visit her and give her the quilt for her birthday on her birthday.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Yay! Amanda's back!
Glad you had a good break. I think it is great that you are doing this quilt for the silent auction. Fundraising is such a touchy thing. It can be so hard to do. It is nice to be able to pitch in where you can. Have a great weekend!

I'm still plugging away at the quilt a long quilt. I had one in the queue before it and I've nearly finished it. Then serious quilt a long action will start. (School holidays are the only time I can quilt.I need hours of chunks of time to concentrate on it. I don't know why.)

Melanoma is huge on people's radars over here in Australia. We have the highest rates of it in the world. It's scary to think that a mole on your body could kill you. My sister has a friend who is in the same position as your friend, though thankfully after the operation she has been given the all-clear.

Great idea to make the quilt. I'm sure it'll look fantastic and raise a lot of money for them.

Welcome back. As you can tell you've been missed! 12 days...if anyone can do it, you can. Maybe I'll challenge myself to finish my quilt-a-long quilt with you. Have a great weekend.

What a great way to help! I love the idea of homemade handmade gifts. I hope that your gift touches her heart, and brings needed monetary support.

12 days for a quilt! Are you going on a "go slow" strike? What a wonderful cause though.
I'm jealous of your sunshine. Here it's snowing in (almost) April!

I love the block. I am glad your grandmother liked the quilt. I took my first quilt block of the quilt along to show my 90 year old granny and she wasn't impressed. She said I would never get through. Ha! Little does she know I am on block 10 and am getting it done. Grannys are so funny!

I am so glad your grandma loved her quilt, I never had any doubts.

I am sure you are such a blessing to this family you are helping with your quilt, and if anyone can get a quilt done in 12 days, you can.

And I am so onboard for a finish it up week. I have so many partial projects laying around here. Maybe DH would quit teasing me about buying more fabric if I actually finished something.

How wonderful of you two to contribute a quilt to the auction! I look forward to seeing how it progresses this week. And I like the idea of a "tying up the loose ends" week - I think lots of us could use that in one way or another.

You are a wonder. I have been trying to finish one quilt and you make 2 plus go away on spring break. And now, one to donate. Oh, and I hope this star block is going to be in our next quilt-along...... I love it.

I love that pattern I've got the fabric picked out for the lap size one. I will be teaching a class with it. Plan on making stippy quilt for backing.
