sometimes i am smart

sometimes not so much.

smart

making 2 of these aprons right off the bat. I usually make one of anything when I am drafting a pattern, but I knew if I only made one, the other would never get sent. (because I am so keeping one of these for myself!)

see the backing fabric peeking out on the left side? it's a marvelous little cherry print made by Robert Kaufmann.

I had to bribe my little man to model this for me. one stick of gum does wonders.

not so smart

making 7 bunnies at once. I really dislike mass production.

smart

making a prototype before making multiples of these pin cushions. I learned a few things the first time through. the pattern came from American Patchwork and Quilting magazine, December 2007.

not so smart
trying to tackle way too much gift making in one week's time. I only accomplished a fraction of what I wanted to and I am frazzled. oh, well. tomorrow Anina and I are having our own little quiltathon. woo-hoo!

I love the aprons! Very cute and I am going to have to make some like this one day! I am going to dig up my magazine to look for that pincusion pattern too..very cute!

that apron is awesome! love it! I know what you mean about the mass production, and trying to make too many things. I always do this, and it always makes me anxious, and takes the fun out of it for me. This year I feel like easter is christmas, with all I am trying to do!
everything looks so great! can't wait to see those bunnies!

Cute apron, cute pincushions, cute bunnies! I'm hoping to get my "happy hour" blocks done tonight (14 to go), and the top done tomorrow. We shall see...

Lovely apron. I'm really glad you made two because I would have wanted to keep one for myself too.
I love the wee bunnies, but not 10 at a time!
And I made 10 of those pincushions at a time a couple of months ago.
Now I truly have to go baste a quilt if we're having a quiltathon.

Love all the projects you did or are working on. The apron and pincushion are favorites. The bunnies definitely need to be mass produced, because don't they naturally multiply????

Hee hee, we can only hope that we have more "smart" moments than "not so smart" :) I had a not so smart moment this morning when I trimmed a zipper, cutting the zipper part right off, leaving me with only teeth! DUH!!

oh I love love your aprons. Your model is pretty cute too.

Those little bunnies...CUTE!

and of course that little pincushion is amazing. I tried to make a basic square and failed miserably.

Have a fun weekend!

I think you're always smart, just sometimes a little crazy.

A stick of gum...sounds like you got yourself a bargain! :o) Love the aprons..they look practical but beautiful.
oh and I'm so with you on the mass production. Did a bunch of bags once and hated every minute of it!

I always make one of things, I’m glad when I get one done...
Love your aprons! Have fun with the quiltathon!
Virtual or real?

Cute, cute apron! Have a fun quilt-a-thon day!

Yeah. Mass production is not fun. It's way better to spread out the fun. (I was having the same sentiment when I was making the St. Patrick's Day shirts for the kids.)

The aprons and pin cushions are great!

Your making lots of cute things there. I really like the pin cushion!

Like the apron. I guess it IS bunny season. Maybe bring the pattern and we can make some while you are visiting.

Love the apron! Almost makes me want to make one, then go bake something - like cookies. You know it's gotta be cute when I want to bake!! Yeah - I'm not so much for mass production these days - I had enough of that when the purse sweat shop was up and running here----remember those days?? Good times.

Happy Quilt-a-thon!!

I love your apron pattern. I am a sucker for red, especially when it is set off by white. Your pin cushions are also very well made. I think it is always good to learn from our experiences. You certainly have a better idea about what works for you and what doesn't.

it's like, one for you....one for me....one for you.... one for me. i love to play that game!
very cute aprons and pin cushions.

I *love* that pincushion! I think I even have that issue...lol. I agree about the mass production thing though. I did that for favor bags for my sisters baby showers....lots of chapstick holders and tissue holders. easy stuff, but sooooo repetative!

You are sure an inspiration to me. I am working on quilt block # 5. I will be putting on my blog soon. I can't thank you enough for teaching this. I have really enjoyed it. I am slow, but I am getting there.

I wish I was half as productive as you! It's amazing what you are able to get done and raise children. I love the pic of your son modeling the apron. That pincushion is way cool. It looks like it would be hard to get the different layers to be snug enough to not wander from each other. Was it?

I just lovelovelove that pin cushion!

the pincushion is adorable!!!

The aprons are darling (as is the model!) Hey, you can join Judy Laquidara at Patchwork Times on Tuesday there is a quiltathon! It's pretty non-structured. If you can't make it on Tuesday, Monday works too. Then you just report on your progress. It sure helps to focus. Had a blast at Pat Sloans quilt retreat too.

The aprons are super sweet (and you are super smart for making both at once). A stick of gum... that's priceless.
I hope you've been able to catch your breath after all of the gift-making!
