This block goes together pretty quickly.
For this one, I pressed my triangle seams open to reduce bulk.
Cut 8 squares 3.5" from the background fabric
Cut 4 squares 3.5" from the colored fabric
Cut 2 squares 3 7/8" from the background fabric
Cut 2 squares 3 7/8" from the colored fabric
(these 4 will be used for making the triangles)
Use the same method for making the triangles here that we used in the previous weeks.

and you have your completed block.

For those of you who are interested, I am already thinking about the next quilt a long. I am planning on making another sampler type quilt in all different star blocks. I'm gonna have to get over my triangle phobia once and for all. :)

okay, you really inspire me. the whole quilting thing really intidimates me. I have only been sewing for nine months, and I have a very basic sewing machine. maybe after more sewing pratice, and an updated machine i will be more daring. Although, i could sew something a little more complex and just do the ties, right?

I would definitely be down with the star quilt. I was wanting to make one for my brother. I think he would like the star patterns. I haven't tried stars before.

yeah - only one triangle for this one!!! And only one colored fabric....again, yeah!! Oh, stars...I don't know - I'm not so fond of these triangles yet. I might have to wait and see.....

I HAD a phobia about triangles.. but how easy are they if you starch the crap out of them before you cut them to sew??? easy peasy!
I'd be up for another quilt along, I am also doing Bonnies Quiltville mystery quilt, and so far there is over 2500 bits in that sucker!

Thanks very much. I have been lurking (and sewing) in the background. I finished round #5 today - I'm also making mine in 30's fabrics, but I'm making two of each block - just because I wasn't sure how I wanted to finish this up or have a second quilt or what.

I messed this block up, but I like the result. Instead of the colored squares lining up on the diagonal, I have a squat hexagon.
