back at it

Well, hello there! I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. (Thanks to those of you who checked in on me....I appreciate it!) I didn't intend to be away from this space for the entire summer, but it was a lovely break. My one goal this summer was to enjoy my kids while they were home and I was able to do just that. I'm so thankful! (Some days that is a miracle, you know?) They headed back to school today, which is bittersweet. They are in grades 7, 10 and 12 this year!!! (I have a feeling there will be a lot of tears in the next 9 months, with a senior in the house....) Anyway, I'm excited for this year and I'm thankful to watch my kids grow up into great young adults.

I'm also excited to get back into the routine of sewing on a regular basis. I have a lot of things to finish (ooof!) and more ideas in my head than I can ever execute, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm super excited to say it again....Happy Monday to you! xoxoxo

Glad you are back. Looking forward to hearing from you. You have inspired a few of my quilts. Happiness is family and those memories, so I am glad you took the summer but I missed you.

I'm glad to read you enjoyed your summer with your children. Keep your camera handy to record that senior year. There are lots of milestones in the making this year for both of you.

I can't wait to see what wonderful projects are banging around waiting to come to fruition.

I sorta took the summer off too - https://thriftshopcommando.blogspot.com/2018/08/i-took-summer-off.html

You will be an empty nester in a few years, good thing you have your quilting/crafting to keep your mind occupied and not worrying about the kids.

Hope we will have a linkup soon - I miss all of the other quilters (and you, of course!)

Whoa! What happened... how did those kiddos get so big. The same thing is happening here. Such a cliché but so true too. I hope everyone has a great school year.

Good to see you! Our school here started last week. Will be checking in regularly now. Not a whole lot of blogs still around. At least the ones I followed. Maybe I will have to find some new ones to read along with yours. Pam

Amanda Jean ~ I've been going to your website daily for the past couple of weeks checking in on you (school starts at such random times across the nation) only to find your darling daughter in her lovely Geranium dress...receiving your email in my box today was a lovely surprise! Welcome back!

There is nothing better than spending time with your family and you will never look back and regret that you did (if anything it would be the other way around). Time goes so whizzing by us and there's no way to recapture any of it. So, good on ya!!!

My youngest son (27 years old) was married 3 weeks ago. It was an amazing day. I thank God for the relationship I have with both of my boys and have no regrets looking back.

I'm looking forward to once again being inspired by you. Take the time you need, when you need it. You've got an exciting year ahead of you!

Welcome back! I also have my first senior this year; so I'm with you on the crying boat. I bawled like a baby at the beginning of the year when I put his 18th birthday on my calendar. Everyone tells you how fast it goes, but you never really believe them until you've lived it! Glad to see you back posting again!

Ahhh, the first Senior! I remember when my son was a senior and then he graduated and then the other two came up through the ranks. By the time the youngest graduated 10 years after his brother, I felt like I'd been in high school for 14 years straight. While it was bitter-sweet to see the "baby" graduate, I was also very ready to be *DONE* with living high school parenting over and over ala "Groundhog Day Movie" style. Same issues, same meetings, same dramas over, and over, and over....

I hope he has a wonderful year and that college applications aren't making you all crazy!
