summer sunrise quilt

The super simple quilt from baby quilt week is done. I absolutely love this one. The quilting really shines because of the simplicity of the design. The binding pops. The texture is spot on-full of crinkly goodness.

As you can see in this photo, I have some work to do with squaring up my quilts before binding. Aw, well. I'm a firm believer that wonky is good.
The quilt measures 40" x 49".

Thanks to Josie who commented that it looks like a summer sunrise, thus naming this quilt for me. Hope you don't mind, Josie.

It is a very peaceful quilt and I think the name is perfect. Consider the wonkyness as part of it's charm.

aww, this is really sweet. I need to make a quilt for a girl at work who is having a little boy in January. This might be good inspiration for that!

I have that problemtoo. My is due to my lack of space. No room to cut.

Looks fabulous! Try photographing your quilts without any straight lines in the background and we will not notice if it is square or not!LOL

Very Sweet! I think that it being a bit un-squared is a fine. It could be a signature for your baby quilts.

Lucky baby who gets to cuddle up with this quilt.

You did a wonderful job of quilting and the binding realy does just pop off. As for being wonky....well tell them all that's the way it was supposed to be. It said so on the side of the bottle, didn't it? ...(*LOL*)...
I don't think there's one of us who hasn't made a wonky something or other , some of us (me for instance) it's a hit and miss. Like "surprize!!.it's straight this time", so your in good company.

Keep up the wonderful work.

I love this quilt! I am so drawn to simple quilts. I need to make a baby quilt for my co-worker who once was my master teacher...so it has to be wonderful...and I'm thinking something just like this would be perfect. Plop it on the long arm and go to town!

I wouldn't have noticed about the not square thing... Often we are our own worst critics. I think it is lovely.

Ha! I had to go back and read the original post to find the comment I left. I have such a bad memory but I'm glad at least I said something useful. Looks beautiful, as always.

Wonky is good! I'm so glad that you get that. Although one would be hard-pressed to find wonkiness in your work. This piece is just gorgeous (you knew, though, that it appeals to my minimalist tendencies).
