re-do

I made this quilt last year. It turned out ok, especially for using upholstery fabrics-some stretched and some didn't-so it was a bit tricky. But the quilting, quite frankly, is lackluster at best. Some squares are better than others.

So what's a girl to do? Rip it out and quilt it in squares.

That's much better.
It's not like I don't have 10 other quilts to work on or anything. But this is what I do.
(My poor husband...he deals with this quilting madness all the time.)
It's amazing to me how quilting really does make the quilt.

  4. LOL, I can see myself doing something similar. When something bugs ya, it bugs ya and ya gotta get it fixed or it's just gonna keep buggin' ya!

  5. I am currently ripping out a 1/3 quilted quilt. It is for my couch and hated the way I had quilted it. I knew if I didn't I would always hate it and never use it.

  6. I can relate to this!! It looks much better now indeed!! You must feel good about it. Leaving things for what they are, can keep your mind off of things you want to do....

  7. That must have been a lot of work ripping it all out but if you weren't happy with it before what else could you do! I have been hand quilting a little wall hanging this week, and for the first time I experienced what it means when they say that the quilting makes the quilt. It's alive now!

  9. I can't believe you ripped out the quilting! I guess it never occurred to me that you could do that. I would have just given it away and said, "It's rustic!" But I am glad you finally happy with the result.

  10. Ripping out a quilt? That's finished? WOW! You are supergirl! As crazy as I think it is - I 100% understand - and would also do the same thing! As crazy as it is......:-)

  11. You're right. It does look better. I've had to do the same thing. Not that I enjoy ripping out any more than you must, but if not satisfied with the results, then out comes the stitch ripper. Quilting madness, you say? :o)
