two pairs of socks!

Welcome to finish it up Friday!
This is my 25th pair of hand knit socks that I've made to date. They had a lot of issues (like me, hahaha!), so they went into time out for about a week. After that time, I was able to frog back and fix the mistakes that I had made. (This was my first time doing partial frogging successfully, which was a big deal!) I'm so pleased that they are finished, and more importantly, finished well. I LOVE THEM!! They are warm and happy...perfect for these dreary fall days! The yarn is Malabrigo sock yarn. The color is 857 light of love. (I wonder who gets to name these things!)
I finished this pair of socks (my 24th pair) back in August. The yarn is Felici by Knit Picks, which was gifted to me by my sweet friend Suzanne. (I tried to find a link to the yarn, but I think it's either out of stock or discontinued.) I'm pleased as punch with this pair as well! I used my basic sock pattern (available here) for both of the pairs shown.
This pretty much sums up how I feel about hand knit socks. :)

Now, it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the MONTH....if you have multiple finishes to share, please feel free to link up more than one! Thank you, as always, for joining me for finish it up Friday! I know that some of you miss having a weekly link up, but I have to say, that doing it once a month has been so helpful for my sanity. (I don't have that much to spare. hahaha!) Anyway, I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!

I am one who walks around in socks all the time - I dot like going barefoot. Anyway, I feel like I would hate to wear through these. Do they wear out faster than boring store bought socks? Just curious as I am not a knitter - they seem like they take a long time. Both pair are so pretty!

Thanks for the knitting inspiration; I've been thinking of learning how to knit something other than a dishcloth or a scarf. I may finally have to take some time away from quilting to learn.

Oh, the Felici socks are so much fun! Looks like you will have happy, cozy feet this fall.

Light of love is an interesting name for a color. Your socks are always so cute and fun. If you have to suffer through cold weather, this is definitely one happy way to do it.

I'm having a hard time deciding which pair I like better! :D

Both pairs look so warm and cheery! The pink ones, though, perfect for October!

Felici gets released twice a year in early summer and November. It's a Knit Picks yarn. Why yes, I am a Felici hoarder!

They're lovely.

Nice work.

Gosh, both pairs are great. I need to pull out some yarn and get working. It's been ages since I made a pair. Actually I might have a pair started somewhere, I need to look through the various yarn hidey holes. hmmm

Such pretty socks! Wish I could knit like. I can knit. Just not like that.

I love your socks! I recently decided to try to get back into knitting and finished up my first scarf. It's quite wonky but that didn't stop past me from casting on a pair of socks in all my novice glory. I wonder if I will remember how to finish them!

I think it's wonderful that you host Finish it Up Friday at all. I can imagine that a weekly comittment is challenging!

Love 'em! I loved the pink pair at first sight, I love them even more now that I know they were knitted with 'light of love'.

I absolutely love your socks! Love that pink!
I’m afraid my knitting is not my strong point! I can never finish any knitting these days! I have a jumper and a waistcoat that “I just had to make” waiting on their needles ..... one day!
Thank you for hosting, Amanda Jean.
Hugs,
Barbara xx
