My friend, Erin, of Why Not Sew, is the featured stop on the blog tour today. If you aren't familiar with Erin, you really need to go check out her work. She makes beautiful things and she is as sweet as can be! She is sharing the ADORABLE pillow inspired by the mini nines quilt. I hope you go check it out here and enter her giveaway. Thanks so much for following along with the celebration of the book release. I sure appreciate it!
For finish it up Friday today, I had the grandiose idea that I would make a whole passel of mini nine pincushions. Like, 9 of them. (Are you laughing yet?) Late last night, reality set in, as it always does, and I only got the centers pieced. Those blocks are 2", unfinished. Eventually, they will grow up to be finished pincushions....at least that's the hope. :) Although, if I could figure out a way to piece them into a circle, that would be pretty cute, too!
I did finish one lonely little pincushion and I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway to wrap up the week, since this is a celebration, after all. I will be giving away this pincushion........and a bundle of scraps, tailored to your tastes. (That is, within reason and within the constraints of my scrap stash.) If you'd like to win a scrap bundle and the pincushion, please leave a comment in this post. In your post, I'd love to hear about your plans for the weekend. (We will be celebrating my baby girl turning 11! Sniff, sniff!) The giveaway for the scraps and pincushion is for US residents only. However, if you are a resident outside of the US, you are eligible to win a digital copy of my book. I will pick a winner for each, so in your comment, if you could please include if you live in or outside the US, that would be most helpful. Thank you!
edited to add: the giveaway is now closed. thanks to all who entered! the winners are posted here.
If you have a finish to share this week, it's time to link up! Thank you, as always, for joining me for finish it up Friday!

This weekend a snowstorm will cancelly boys' soccer games (3games) and I'm kind of excited about staying in and staying cozy the whole weekend, probably for the last time this season. And I will be sewing some zipper pouches.
This weekend I plan on finishing a quilt top and then reorganize my sewing room. You sould look at Jack's Chain patterns for suggestions as to how to make a circle out of your mini nines.
Tomorrow morning I have field day for gun safety with my 12 year old daughter. (I live in the US)
I love all your scrappy inspiration! This Sunday we will be having a Memorial Celebration of my brother Bob's life. Bob died in February at the age of only 60 years old. He's the last of my immediate family except for me. His wife, Cindy, is bravely battling breast cancer and we will be surrounded by their family & friends. The rest of my weekend is going to be filled with sewing wherever I can fit it in. Thanks for the chance to win.
grandsons baseball game tonight and Jim jigs I tournament tomorrow. On to nieces college graduation on Sunday-whew! I am going to be tired.
I'll be finishing a small wall hanging, that has been in the works for"hmm" a while. Also there will be snow shoveling, if it ever stops coming down. Mother Nature is certainly doing her best to show us who's boss! Pictures tomorrow on my blog of the 6+ inches we have.
No quilting this weekend but finishing the ring pillow I am making for my daughters wedding in July

That circle of mini-9-patches? Quilt block! Maybe done in a Dresden plate construction.
I always think someone else's scraps are much cuter than mine. Maybe I am just tired of looking at them. I am going to help my granddaughter get her flimsy machine quilted this weekend. Then on to more charity quilts!!!
I love seeing what people are making for your blog hop! I will be sewing and cleaning this weekend. I live in Massachusetts. Thanks.
I love all of your pin cushions. They are so cute.
This weekend I'm going to go through all of my almost 11 year old baby's books that are tossed all over his bedroom floor. He has so many books I'm tripping over them. While I love that head reads, I don't want to break my neck. I'm in PA.
Love seeing your blog tour! I hope to finish another BB Bag , this time to use on a trip we are going on. The BB Bag has zippers and a ton of pockets and yet is small and handy. It sharpens my brain. Hee hee.

Very cute blocks! We're going to try to relax and catch up on some rest. Not very exciting, but necessary! We're in Idaho.
Those mini nine patches are to die for! So cute! No big plans for the weekend, just a couple of projects around the house. I live in Michigan, USA!
I do so love all your minis! It's crazy to think about how small these pieces are :) I have plans to finish a shirt I've been working on and to finish a pillow (paper pieced - and certainly not a mini :) ). No more littles in the house, huh? I've got a couple of years before that reality sets it - best of luck. Hope the celebration is fun and sweet. Thanks for sharing all your inspiration for scrap use - I'm hoping to get a copy of your book and start diving into my massive scrap selection (I swear they are multiplying when I'm not looking - is that even possible?)
I do love using my scraps for pincushions too! I don't as many done but you share have inspired me to keep all the little pieces. Enjoy the birthday whirl. I am having 2 friends from grammar school come to visit
, we have been friends for over 50 yrs!
So cute! My weekend plans are, ummm, flexible? I know there are some errands to run and housecleaning to do. Church on Sunday morning is a definite and hopefully time in the sewing room to catch up a little on my Moda Blockheads blocks. Or my daughter's wedding signature quilt. Or one of the other 2.3 million projects that I have going!

I love all your pincushions; your newest one is tiny enough to fit in my little "tackle box" that I use for my hand quilting supplies. I'm itching to try your 1/2" nine patch blocks. Congrats on your book!

But the best part - going to the zoo Sunday where I am a docent and spending time with zoo visitors as they come to see our polar bear cubs. I will be hanging out in Polar Frontier for the afternoon assisting with crowd control, talking about conservation, and all things polar bear cubs. Sewing - maybe a little bit this afternoon - depends on how rainy it is.

Hi from Australia. Our weekend is already half over and I've been trying to adjust a pattern to make larger fabric containers, a little bit of trial and error. I've also been sewing preppy whales. Hope you have a good weekend.

Last night my youngest daughter gave a speech to our homeschool group. It was the last requirement before completing her senior year of our homeschool. It is the end of an era for me. I have been teaching my four children since 1990. 27 years! We are celebrating the accomplishment this weekend here in Pennsylvania. The blog hop has been fun and love your pin cushion.
Greetings from beautiful Orlando! I too have been enjoying this week's book tour! Because of your blog...and I cannot remember HOW or WHEN I found you...I have a much greater desire to play with my scraps. I see them as a new source for fun, not a mystery as to why I'm spending so much time organizing them!
By the way...any great (and simple!) advice for organizing my plethora of patterns would be GREATLY appreciated...just sayin...
This weekend...hanging with my dear husband, church on Sunday, hopefully a bit of time to sew too!
Thank you for the give-a-way opportunity!

I have really enjoyed this weeks blog hop. If I don't win one of your books I will for sure purchase one. This weekend I am in Tulsa, OK celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Woody Guthrie Center. Lots of great music. Then home to try a finish up the Riley Blake challenge.
Pre-ordered your book and was so excited when it finally arrived! It has been my bed side reading every night since arriving. You so inspire me. Thank You.
Love your nine patches! I am going to a bridal bazaar with my daughter! We are planning a wedding for early next year. We will also work in a little quilting. She is giving a presentation at School House at Quilt Market in May and needs some practice.
I hav enjoyed your blog for years. This weekend will be spent indoors as Kansas is having a winter storm. Some areas haveing up to 12 inches of snow. I think we will just have rain but it will be chilly a good day to organize my scraps. Drhodes9@cox.net
Happy Birthday to your DD from South USA! Love your blog - always get inspiration from it. Trying to finish a few UFOs this weekend.
I'm going to a local MQG sew day and picking my sewing machine up from the repair shop. I'm in the US.
this weekend a friend and i are making pillow cases for the million pillow case challenge. i love all things scrappy and especially pin cushions.
That is a great use for the tiny scraps. A whole basket of them would be so sweet. Our weekend is super busy with family events - high school play, First Communion, Confirmation, baseball games and a family BBQ in the CA sunshine.
We have a very full Saturday! Soccer games for grands, a big family reunion. And a pizza party for a granddaughters 11th birthday too! Happy birthday to your sweetie too! From getting warm AZ!
I love seeing all your sweet pincushions! They make me smile. The scrap fabrics are perfect, these are my favorite colors. We did have gardening plans for this weekend, shrubs to plant, a bed to clean out, rosebushes to move to another location in our yard, alas, we woke to stiff winds and six inches of snow and it's still snowing... maybe next week ;-)
I love all your bright colored fabrics and your cute pincushions. I have plans on cleaning up my sewing room, we just moved and things are in boxes. My sewing machine is calling my name and I promised myself to just piece for one half hour to make my heart happy.
Love all the new projects and the pincushion! My weekend plans include a little secret sewing and getting my daughter's room back to a living space instead of a storage space, because Monday she gets home from 7 months in France! :)
What delightful little mini charms those 9's are!! Eeek! We are going to find the beach, do some chores and pack for a trip! I'm hoping to get some sewing squeezed in somewhere!
Hi, Amanda! I have really been enjoying the blog tour of your book. It looks adorable. This weekend I have some donation quilts for hospice that need to be quilted. Thanks!
Cute, cute little nine patches. Arranged in a circle they look like the traditional block Jack's Chain - maybe a quick search will find you the piecing directions you desire.
Our weekend plans include some major yard clean up after strong winds last night, then off to the Huntington Plant Sale and dinner with friends tonight. (US)
Love the pincushion!!!
Yikes, Amanda, nine tiny nine patch pincushions? I love the new wonky star one. I'll be attaching a sleeve and label and then dropping some quilts off for a fiber a d fabric show next week. I'm hoping to also finish a table runner this weekend. (I live in Washington state.)
Hi Amanda, I will be sewing this weekend, I have a plus quilt top thatIi need to complete 1 more row and then piece the rows. I will be making a zipper pouch as part of my daughter's birthday present and crib sheets for 2 new babies! Hubby is away sailing so my time is my own!
I really like all the little pincushions that you make! There won't be much sewing going on this weekend. On Saturday I will be attending a spring festival that is a yearly event held in our town. Sunday will be busy with church, having breakfast out, and an afternoon soccer game in which our 10 year old granddaughter will be playing. Thanks for the giveaway and the chance.
This weekend brings a fire in the wood stove and chili for dinner with a side of sewing. Your pincushions brighten up a cold snowy weekend!
This weekend I'll be sewing and baking since it's too cold to be outside sowing and gardening.
The pincushion is so cute. We are going to a memorial today and then tomorrow we will celebrate my husband's 78th birthday. So not much sewing will be done this weekend. We are in Northern California.
hello from Vancouver, WA. I am in need of a new pincushion and always love working with scraps. I will be playing with my new mini curve ruler trying to get the knack of using it.
Oh this lovely weekend the three in my house will all be WORKING! My husband has a deadline for an article, my 15 year old daughter is cramming for AP exams, and I am getting my trunk together to hit the road with Fall/Winter yarns (I am a sales rep for yarn companies). But we may all take a break and head out to the Getty Museum (we live in L.A.). It's a beautiful 88 degree day, so perfect to explore the Getty garden. Thanks for the inspiration and the contest!
This weekend is for planting and yard work on Sat. Praising Jesus and lunch with friends on Sunday. I started my "Dots" hand- work project modeled after Aerial Grove and Dot Your I's. Long car trip coming so I'll be ready. I love your new book and the other giveaway items. I'm in NC USA 🇺🇸. BETH
It's been a rough week - moved my mother into assisted living and her husband into a memory care unit, a long overdue move that has caused great sadness and anxiety. Right now I'm at my computer writing a reflection to share at church tomorrow and definitely need some time to SEW! Haven't touched my machine in three weeks since we started the process of moving the parents, so my creative juices need some expression.
Love the blog hop and have been inspired by your friends blogs I'd never read before. Reading these each day has been a respite from the real world this week. Have fun celebrating your daughters birthday. They grow up so fast.
I would love to win the cute pincushion and scrappy fabric. I will be attending my cousin's son's wedding this weekend. I live in Tennessee. Thanks!
Hope it was a happy birthday celebration! I celebrated my birthday on this week, too - only a half century older, and feel it right now. This weekend will be spent recuperating from major surgery, so will be a quiet one. I'm hand appliquing the "Squircles" onto neutral charm blocks. Have about 300 done, only 424 to go! Estimating approx 130 stitches per block, that's at least 74,000 stitches. But I'm enjoying it tremendously, while watching 'Midsomer Murders'. This quilt will be for our bed, will be 120" x 120", so a bear to quilt on my machine. Will probably do it in halves to make it easier on my arms and shoulders. I love the pincushions you make -- I've borrowed a couple of your ideas and made one for me and for my friend, nice big ones. Love your blog. Deb E / Oregon mdenders@msn.com
The pincushion is the cutest yet. I love the mushroom/ toadstool center.
The pincushion is so cute! I helped at a music camp for children this morning, and now I'm going to the mall. I have lots of rehearsals tonight and tomorrow, too. I'm in the Massachusetts. Have fun celebrating your daughter's birthday!
This will be a finish it up weekend for me. I belong to a group within my local modern guild and we have a UFO challenge that expires on Sunday night. I have a project that needed the blocks trimmed, assembled into a top, layered, quilted and bound... so far am on step two and wondering if I can ignore the rest of my life and just sew for 24 hours?
Love the pin cushion - I live in the US - thanks for the chance to win. If I am lucky enough to win, would love for you to choose the scraps! I am going to a quilt show this afternoon (and will be trying really hard not to by more fabric!!)
I just love all of your pincushions ! Looks like yard work for me this weekend. Thanks for the giveaway.
I love your "tiny" things!
This weekend I am working on the back of the throw I am making for my granddaughter who will graduate from the University of Alabama in August. The front has a huge red "A" on a black and white houndstooth. The back is grey with red elephants, and joining the two pieces of backing is a strip made up of 3 left over blocks, a block with a mistake, and more of the red fabric used for the "A". Haven't quite figured out the quilting. The quilt will measure 62x57. Nancy A: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
Love your fussy cut pincushion....and the 9-patch block idea in a circle....if mini flying geese can than those cute blocks can....I am heading to a BBQ..yes it is only in the mid-40's here in Montana,,,but that is shorts weather for us........
It is chilly here in Minnesota, but at least it is not raining or snowing! A little yard work today and short road trip tomorrow to pick up our granddaughter. Love the pincushion!
I have two small quilts to work on. One is a wallhanging for my sewing room and the other is a music themed wallhanging or tabletopper for my composer son. Lots to do. I'm in Canada.
I just love those tiny 9 patches. I finished up a set of pincushions Friday night and went to a cross stitch stitch-in for today, Saturday. Tomorrow I am sewing on the binding for a friend's baby who is due at any time. I thought for sure He would be born today with all the storms we had but he's being a typical boy and staying comfortable in his mommy's tummy.
I had planned to spend some time in the garden, getting it ready for planting on Mother's Day. But woke up to snow! So I'm staying inside and will catch up on several BOM projects. Your pincushion is too cute!
I just got home from a mother/daughter tea with my three girls. We had a good time eating food and playing games. Other than that I don't have any other plans. I'll probably try to finish up my book from the library which is due back soon.
I delivered finished quilts to the photographer for a fabric designer I quilt for...Insert this all feels a bit surreal! Now home to sew for myself...cuz Monday starts another wave of customer quilts!
Spent Friday night at my sister's house cutting out 6 charity quilts for us to make at our retreat in June. Went to a company crawfish boil. Waiting for grandbaby #4 to be born- he's due today!
Better late than never! My weekend's been a busy one so far, as evidenced by my untimely comment! Linda from Scrapmaster was here to give a workshop and a trunk show to our guild. Such fun! I've enjoyed your hop this week. Your book looks fabulous and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy! xo
Spring has finally arrived in Massachusetts . I have to work outside this weekend but planning a 3 day quilt retreat in May!

It's quite hot here in Maryland USA this weekend. Grass seed planting going on here except I'm having some back problems so I am in my craft/sewing space doing some organizing. But I think I might "need" to sew tomorrow.
Love your blog and this weekend I am working on a baby quilt from pink and green scraps. Hope I win your stash because I really need some new colors. I live in North Carolina in the US. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. You are so generous.
Spent the past week at the quilt show in Paducah and today spent the day at my granddaughters volleyball games. Both were lots of fun.
Plans? Are we supposed to have plans?? I'll be cooking and sewing and looking at fave websites for inspiration💖 scrapbusting? Definitely! Thanks!
I am planning 2 quilts for my grandkids. They will have to be something I can get done quickly. I am considering doing something totally scrap busting like maybe a string quilt done via paper piecing. Two quilts should pretty much take care of a lot of strings and other scraps. I am in the USA.
Our highlight was a Finnish May Day party. (US)
