bruiser quilt top and a bowl of pincushions

Welcome to finish it up Friday!

First off, THANK YOU for your kind comments and excitement about my book! I appreciate each and every one! Your support means so much!
I managed to finish my bruiser quilt top this week! I had a hard time getting a decent photo of the entire quilt before I sent it off to the quilter. I was in a hurry, so that certainly didn't help. In fact, I was in such a pinch that I actually de-threaded it in my van before I shipped it off. De-threading is a pain. De-threading in a vehicle is on my list of things to never do again. Hahaha!
The pattern is called All Sizes, which is in my new book. It's fun to see a more muted version of this pattern, although I am quite fond of the bright and happy version as well. If I counted right, there are only (gulp) 585 HSTs in this quilt. I can't wait to see it all quilted up!

Because I needed a little palette cleanser after finishing my quilt top, I finished up 10 more pincushions! Oddly enough, the ones I made this morning are the HST ones. Ha! You would think I'd be burnt out on triangles by now! These will be added to my basket of pincushions to give away. (My total should be at 70 now, and my goal is 100!)

Now it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Thank you for joining me for finish it up Friday!

Dethreading in a car sounds like a headache in quilt wrangling! Congratulations!

That's a lot of HST love! Another wonderful scrap busting design and looks classic in the muted shades.
Your pincushions make me smile! Looking forward to seeing a bowl of 100. ;o)

I love it, Amanda! Question: what is your favorite method for making HSTs? By now you must have chosen one...

Wow that quilt top is amazing! I love that you call the pincushions palette cleansers and I know just what you mean, they are also very pretty!

Did you know that de-threading means pulling your thong underwear out of your crack according to the Urban Dictionary. Ha!
But I knew what you meant. I hate to de-thread quilts. I follow on Bloglovin.

Love your bruiser quilt top - I am a sucker for blues and HSTs so this is just wonderful - traditional and modern at the same time. Good luck with the book launch, your new baby about to be born!

I can totally relate to the reference to 'palette cleansing'. I use reproduction fabrics and then I want to do something bright and cheery. What I don't know is what is meant by 'de-threading'.

My book arrived yesterday! What a wonderful book! As I paged through it, first a fast flip through and then a nice slow review I found myself thinking, I want to make THIS one...NO, I want to make THIS ONE! over and over and over again. Thank you! I'm really looking forward to having many happy hours using my beloved scraps and creating beautiful quilts.
