I'm sure that it will come as no surprise that those brilliant colors inspired me to pull out some scraps to match....
I've been wanting to play with about a thousand different combinations of solids lately, but this one got first place, for obvious reasons.
This is the quilt top that came out of that pile of scraps! I wasn't planning on using a creamy background (Kona snow) in this quilt at all, but once the blocks were up on my design wall, I knew that was the perfect addition. I love this one so much, it just might make it's way into my permanent collection! The quilt top measures about 51" x 67".
Thanks so much for all of your kind comments on my post yesterday! I appreciate each and every one!
Really really cool! You always have such a good eye for putting your colours together. Enjoy the autumn leaves...(we're in the midst of spring down here so I am enjoying colours of a different hue!)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors. What a fun quilt!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could pick colors as well as you. Precuts are always my friend. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, love what you do with scraps! Spectacular fall indeed, but still find myself not liking the darkness. I'd like fall better if it came with the long days of summer.
ReplyDeleteVery Stunning! Perfect with the Fall Background Scene!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves where I live in VA are just barely starting to turn. Fall is a beautiful time of the year!
ReplyDeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteThat's a keeper-- beautiful! I'm also from MN and have been inspired to use the same colors in the quilt I'm currently working on! I think it's a good thing when you can be inspired by the world around you.
ReplyDeleteVery, VERY nice!

ReplyDeleteInspiration is everywhere and you grab it and run with it. Love this quilt.
ReplyDeleteI am really starting to think that yo don't sleep !! How did that get started and finished SO fast!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt top! I love that you included all the fall colors; i.e., purple and green. They so often get left out, but give the palette so much depth.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors and a wonderful quilt.

ReplyDeleteYou used some colors I wouldn't normally look twice at--and your end result is gorgeous! Thanks for prying my eyes open to some new color combinations that work wonderfully together. Looks lime some great improv going on, too.
