This newly finished quilt top is made from all scraps, of course, in warm colors. I tend to gravitate toward cool colors more often, so this palette was a nice change of pace. It's nice and bright and cheery! I didn't notice it until I was taking photos, but there is an upper case "E" and a lower case "e" in this quilt. Do you see them? That was a total accident, but I kind of like it!
The quilt top is constructed very much like my scrap vortex quilts. (Tutorials from the QAL can be found on my quilt along page, at the very bottom.)
The quilt top measures about 45"x 59" or so. Once it is finished, I plan to donate it to A Mother's Hope program. (You can read more about that here.)
These cool blocks were pieced around the same time as the ones above, but I decided to separate them from the warm blocks. These will probably up as their own quilt. I'm mulling over a few ideas, but I'm excited about the possibilities!
The pillow you gave Nettie is SO GREAT! So sweet! Love it. You just continue to amaze me every single day.
ReplyDeleteMy Bucket List: to meet Amanda Jean! :)
The warm colors are so beautiful - love the cool one you have started too ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the warm colors so much. I would love to make one, but I don't have hardly any solids. Maybe I could do it in prints if I am careful and try to keep with tone on tone?
ReplyDeleteThe warm colours are a winner with me too - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAlso several Hs, a P, an S and a lower case i! Lovely quilt, it cannot fail to cheer up its new owner.
ReplyDeleteThat would be 'e' for 'Excellent'. Such a cheerful quilt, clearly it will brighten someone's day.
ReplyDeleteYummy! I may need to start a special container just for my solid scraps, I suspect my cool colors will build up faster.
ReplyDeleteThese both look great! I love your pink lemonade quilt top.
ReplyDeleteThe "e-quilt" I love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I see a G, an I... it's like alphabet lemonade!
ReplyDeleteIt's cool when unexpected things like that emerge in a design.
Lovely. Makes me want to sew!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty- after following you for a while, I began separating my solid scraps into a different bin and it is getting quite full. It will be fun to do something with just solids. Soon, very soon. đ
ReplyDeleteI spotted the e's right away! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo bright and cheery. Perfect for a brightening the mood on a dull gray day. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! Once you got me searching for letters, I found several "E", "H" and "F" - but I guess that's plain normal in these kinds of quilts because our brain always searches for known patterns....
ReplyDeleteVery fun and bright. It will definitely cheer up someone's day.
ReplyDeleteI always love your scrappy inspiration and this one will certainly brighten up the recipient. I saw the upper case E right away. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the colors in this one! So so pretty. Thanks for brightening up my morning!!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many scrap vortex quilts I've made from your tutorial. They are great to use up scraps and be creative without really having to think after a long day at work.
ReplyDeleteI'm so curious. Do you consider a work in progress something that has been CUT OUT but no sewing yet? Or does that never happen in your life? I tend not to consider things WIPs until I have done at least some sewing. But I still have quilts (too many) that I have cut out but done no sewing on...yet.
ReplyDeleteSusan
I see a 2 and a 3 as well. Lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteLovely. It IS bright and cheery.
ReplyDeleteCaleb found the letters.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a happy quilt! Great Job!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of looking at clouds and seeing what pops up in the design. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love these - the colors and the blocks are really fun.
ReplyDeletePerfect name! I love these colors together. Well done, once again. And so generous for you to share it with someone who needs cheering and kindness.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the quilt top. It just is so fresh and sunny. Your name is fun, too.
