zippers galore

Welcome to finish it up Friday!

Apparently zippers have been the theme the past few months at my place!
I made another baggy pouch, this time in size large. Pattern is by Aneela Hooey. It's a fun one! I love making it with patchwork. I used mini charms from V and Co. (Color Theory) and Kate Spain (Paradiso). The two lines work SO well together. I'm pleased that I was able to use the mini charm packs and not hoard them until the end of time. That's a big WIN for me! I LOVE this pouch!!!
Last Sunday I taught a few new friends how to make simple zipper pouches. We were going to make the pouches out of a single fabric exterior, but patchwork is always cuter, so we went that route. More 2 1/2" squares, except we used scraps this time. (Yay scraps!) I love how they turned out! One woman had never sewn before...I think she is going to be hooked.
And...one more Work In Progress bag. I had to finish this because I had the zipper done, thanks to yesterday's tutorial. This makes bag #18. Now I think I'm ready to move on and sew something without a zipper! :)

Of course, finishing my pattern was the biggest finish of all this week. Many, many thanks to those of you who purchased a copy! I appreciate your support!

I decided to pick 5 winners for the giveaway. They are: CathyCathy L, Susie at ProspertyStuff, Elizabeth Peterson and Aliceart. Thanks to all of you who entered.

Good gravy, could this post HAVE any more links? :)

Now, at last, it's your turn. Please link up your finishes for the week. Thanks for finishing with me. Happy Friday!

I'd love to have 10 of those see through pouches for my purse! I like to fantasize about how organized I would be. As if....

Cute punches and a great use for those candy squares. Usually the patterns loose half the fabric in seam allowances. With yours I can see all the fabric in their glory!

I absolutely love your project bags... I need to make some; however I am also scared because it would make me realize exactly HOW MANY WIP's I have. I do like knowing they are safe from any stains, etc. And those zipper pouches... yummy! Scrappy scrumptiousness!

funny about your bags -- I'm showing a teenager how to sew next week, and I got out a mini charm pack and a eight inch zipper to make one just like yours -- three days ago. I'm hoping to hook her into quilting, and I thought a finished project would be more inspiring than starting a big quilt which may never get done.

I love scrappy pouches, in fact sewing with 2 1/2 inch squares is one of my favourite things to do. I frequently use my charm packs to make the basket on the Pink Penguin blog, it is my go to pattern for presents. x

Zippers , zippers and more zippers. I have made oodles of zipper bags myself recently in an attempt to use up little bits of fabric that are too yummy to throw out. Surprisingly it doesn't take very much to make a darling little make up bag, put in some handmade soap, nail file etc. for little xmas gifts. I must be totally nuts starting this early.....but those zippers and cute little leftover fabrics are drawing me in.
