I am thankful my husband was willing to help me photograph my quilts there. I LOVE old buildings. There is a LOT of patina in Iowa and I have the photos to prove it! Hahahaha! I need to take my quilts out on location more often. It's worth the extra effort!
For the fabric, I started with a fat quarter stack of dreamin' vintage, then added some stash fabric. I purchased a few blenders and solids to round things out. I used my little connections pattern, but in a lap size. I made binding for this quilt twice. The first time I made yellow binding, but the tone wasn't quite right. I made more binding, this time with some green Kaffe Fassett dots. Much better! It really pulls all of the elements together. As it should!
I pieced the backing from my stash. I feel like I stretched myself a little bit, and I'm pleased with how it came together. I like the combination an awful lot!
The quilt measures about 66" x 78".
This summer marks my 14th year of quilting! AND.....this is my 250th quilt finish to date!!!! (I count baby size and larger.) I have yet to come up with a way to celebrate this milestone, but I'm going to come up with SOMEthing. Until then, here's to the next 250!!!

Another beauty CrazyMom! I love the colors in this one. Do you suppose, one day, archaeologists will find your body buried under a mound of decaying quilts???
ReplyDelete250 quilts!!! That warms my heart (and no doubt your quilts are literally warming others!). I think I'll aim for a tenth of your 250 (though I'm almost there!).
ReplyDelete250 is awesome! As in, literally full of awe. :D And what a bright happy gorgeous quilt to mark the occassion!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, bright quilt. I love the mixture of colors. Congrats on 250 quilts! I've been quilting much longer and don't have half as many quilts finished.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt, love the milestones too! Be proud.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! And you're right - that setting is perfect to show it off. Congratulations on so many finishes. That is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDelete250 quilts is impressive! Thanks for being so inspirational and sharing your quilts.
Congrats on the milestone. Wonderful background for your quilt photo. Wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 250th quilt!! To celebrate I suggest that you go to a quilt show you have always wanted to go to but never could - for example the Paducah quilt show - can't remember what it is called but it is a big deal quilt show - or the Annual quilt show in Birmingham England in AUgust - or one in Paris or Australia - I am sure there is one you can indulge yourself in. My personal favourite is always the one in LaConner Washington state during first week of October each year - wonderful little place - has a textile museum and wonderful restaurants and boutiquey shops and galleries. Have fun - enjoy - and celebrate.
