Welcome to finish it up Friday!
Last night about 11:30 I finished hand binding my Picadilly quilt. I just LOVE it!
Fabric is Picadilly by Denyse Schmidt from JoAnn's with a few stash additions. The block measurements can be found here. Pieced backing influenced by the quilts of Gee's Bend. (I have the book out of the library and have been pouring over it every few days. It's so good!)
I quilted it with a simple stipple in white Aurifil thread.
A shock of pink and red polka dot binding finishes things off nicely. A few more polka dots on the back....of course!
I sure love the mix of prints and the white. A lovely balance, I think.
My daughter did some quilt testing this morning and she gave it her seal of approval. It's nice and cozy. I'm going to have to keep my eye on it or else it will end up in her room with her umpteen other quilts! It measures 65" x 80" or so. Now it's YOUR turn. Please link up your finishes for the week. Thanks for joining me for finish it up Friday!

That is simply Gorgeous! As is the picture with your daughter- what a cheeky expression :0)
Great quilt! I just love this binding.
And yes, looking at the Gee's Bend quilts is such an inspiration. Have you seen any of them in person? A display came to Atlanta several years ago and it was amazing.
Your quilt is so beautiful and simple. Someone at our guild showed a quilt in these fabrics last night! I must have that buttery print with pink bouquets.
I love this quilt. So simple, yet striking.
Such a fun and fresh looking quilt! I especially love the hot pink dots :)
Gorgeous quilt, watch out I'm pretty sure your daughter will be keeping this one too! :D
Your quilt is beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
Lovely quilt for a girl!
A breath of fresh air quilt and that picture with your daughter, perfect. Love it.
The spotted binding and backing is absolutely perfect! What a great finish!
Beautiful!
I can see why your daughter snatched this one up. I, too, like the mix of whites and prints. The pattern would be a very fun break from triangles!
This is beautiful. I love the white background. It really makes the blocks pop. I have yet to use white in a quilt. I am not sure what I am afraid of.
Love the quilting. It shows really nice. Mmmm I bet it gives a great nap.
where would we be without all those self-less quilt testers? ;p
it's beautiful!
It is beautiful as always and I love the stipple quilting.
Cute! That's not still snow on the ground, is it?
Love this quilt! Picadilly is just incredible, I think.
That's pretty much how it works in my house, too. Regardless of the color scheme, my daughter wants every new completion to be hers.
I agree, the balance of white and prints is great.
This quilt is just darling. I have pulled out my Piccadilly stash, excited now by the possibilities.
Cute!
Fabulous finish! Those fabrics are perfect for that design. The polka dot binding is like the icing on the cake! Wishing you and yours a blessed Easter weekend.
I like your quilting and binding :-)
Love, love, love this! I've been looking for a quilt to make as a wedding gift and I think this is the one! Thanks for all the measurements in your other post :-)
Sew sew sew pretty! Thanks for the continued inspiration you provide! Now, I just need to find the time...Happy Easter!
I love it and I looked at it and thought I have GOT to learn to do free motion meandering. It's so cute. By the way; snow on the ground? Still?!
Beautiful quilt. Great fabrics.

I love this quilt so much! Gorgeous and yummy! :)
Judy Moody books are the best! My daughter loved them. Beautiful quilt too!
Please let Abby know I'm looking forward to staying in her room. So keep stockpiling those quilts!
Gorgeous as always! Have a wonderful Easter, my friend. :)
You look like you still have plenty of snow. Hope spring comes soon!
I love this quilt and have been waiting to see it quilted! Nice job. What do I like the most about it? The BIG blocks. I need some quilts to send with my son to college in the fall and this would be a fun one! Maybe in his school colors?
If I was anywhere near this quilt I'd be swiping it! It's beautiful. I love this line (though I've loved all of Denyse Schmidt's lines!) - I've not seen it until now.
Beautiful quilt! sweet pretty daughter!
I love the backing! And the front of course, but the pink dots and fun things on the back are fabulous! Great finish :)
I think that is squeal of approval - at least that is the way I read it. N
It's lovely!
I just saw your quilt on Aurifil's Facebook page. I love it! I love the colors, the quilting, and the binding. It is a very appealing quilt!
What a great quilt!
Love your quilt and especially the binding.
Wonderful quilt, love the colors and fabrics!
(And the photo of your dear daughter reading her book reminds me so much of my girls when they were that age... just precious!)
