Yesterday a friend asked if I had Valentines ready for my kids. I kind of started to panic because the answer was no, and I didn't even have an inkling of a plan. (Don't you hate that?) This morning I picked up a few treats while I was at the grocery store. This afternoon (in less than an hour!) I sewed up 3 little thread catchers to hold their goodies. I didn't have any Valentine fabric, so I just used pink and red. (I have plenty of those in stock. Plen-ty.) So now I'm ready for Valentine's Day. A few days early, too. Sweet!
Two out of three of these used scraps, so I'm counting them as scrap project #52/101.
(I'm almost afraid to admit this, but I'm starting to wonder what I'm going to do when I hit my goal of 101 scrap projects. I have had so much fun with this series. I guess I still have a few to go before I really need to worry about that, right? ;) )
This is sew sweet Amanda! The kiddos will love'em!
ReplyDeleteAww what a good mom! You are more than half way to 101! yeah!
ReplyDeleteyou'll just keep on going, because there will be more scraps and scraps of scraps!

ReplyDeleteGreat idea, really cute!
ReplyDeleteSuper Adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou could always count backwards back to 1 with your scrap projects. We're going to be disappointed too when your project ends. They've all be such great projects.
In under an hour - that is fast!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun and festive! Great gift idea.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. You should up your number of projects to 202. That should keep you busy for awhile. :)
ReplyDeleteYou just needed a nudge. What a cool package you whipped up!
ReplyDeleteby the way, I think when you get to 101 scraps, you are going to issue the disclaimer that you meant 101 squared. That gives you plenty of wiggle room...
1001 scrap projects to do before you die?
ReplyDeleteSuch cute, speedy little bags!
ReplyDeleteUseless tidbit: move to Australia and no one would ask you whether you had valentines gifts for your kids. When my Canadian husband first talked of doing this, I thought it was a bit creepy. Now I know it is just a fun cultural difference.
These are great for keeping things in. Is it an American custom to give children things on Valentine`s day, I have not come across it there in the UK. Here it is usually to the man in your life that you gift to
ReplyDeleteCute cute! J and I ordered pizzas from Lou Malnati's and a cheesecake from Christine's Sweet Confections for Friday. We decided that might be better than going out since the restaurants are always so full anyway. 16 years this year. :)
ReplyDeletePerfect! Those thread catchers come in handy for many things, don't they...not just thread catchers anymore! Loving all your scrap projects.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, I am sure they will be loved.
ReplyDeleteOh my! You can't stop at 101! I love them!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cute idea for Valentine's Day!

How fun.
ReplyDeleteI made homemade chocolate truffles for my hubby. They're not very hard, but they look (and taste) superb. We're glad he'll share.
Today we are making heart shaped cookies together.
When do you sleep? All your kids are in school, right? I hope so or I'm going to feel really badly that I didn't make my kids anything for Valentine's Day. I have a hard enough time scraping together 30 minutes to sew at night after the kids go to sleep with the way my youngest has been [not] sleeping lately.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how quickly you are busting through your 100 scrap project goal. Way to go!!!
Great Valentine bags and great use of your scrapss.
ReplyDeleteI really like it when people come together and share thoughts. Great blog, keep it up! watch Ride Along online
ReplyDeleteI assumed that your scrap projects were a book from the beginning! So when you finish, get writing!
