scrap happy purse pattern

I'm pleased to announce that my Scrap Happy Purse pattern is officially finished! Woo-hoo! (And boy, do I have the headache to prove it!)
I've been carrying the original purse since May and I have gotten such great feedback on it. I absolutely love the size. It's perfect for everyday use, but it also works well for traveling. An I-pad and a small knitting project fit inside it quite nicely, even with my everyday purse contents.
The original bag uses pre-made handles (which I purchased at my local quilt shop) but there are also instructions in the pattern for making your own. I chose to make sassy pink handles for this version. :)
Have I mentioned that it's a great way to use up scraps? The more, the better!
By the way, this is scrap project #19/101. (Yay!)

The purse finishes at 9" wide x 11" tall x 5" deep.
The PDF pattern is available for purchase here.

If you would like to win a copy of the pattern, please leave me a comment on this post. In your comment I'd love to hear where your dream vacation destination is. I'll pick a winner on Saturday.

We love Scotland and go to the Isle of Skye every chance we get, about every two years. That said, if money and time were no object, I think I would choose to go to Africa to see the diverse country and meet the wonderful people. They have amazing textiles as well that remind me of the modern esthetic.

Oh I've been waiting for this bag pattern! I was inspired last year by it and made some zippered pouches for teacher gifts.. So fun and happy! I'd probably have two dream vacations...one is Italy/Spain by the Mediterranean... and the other would be a quilting retreat that you teach at! :)

My dream vacation, at least the attainable dream, is anywhere with a beach (a warm beach, that is, not Alaska!) My probably unattainable dream vacation is a month in Italy, eating, touring around seeing all the architecture and art, and eating - did I mention eating? Thanks for the chance to win - it's a great pattern!!

I love the purse. I carry this type almost exclusively. Someone commented liking Scotland and the Isle of Skye. Our son married a girl from East Kilbride. We have gone to Scotland on an average of more than every two years. Once we all went to Skye. It is definitely the most scenic place we have been to there. And our son has a difficult time taking us someplace we have not visited before.
My dream vacation would be Australia and New Zealand.

I don't need to be included in the giveaway, but I'd like to mention that my dream vacation would to Mongolia - to visit friends and former students there.

Of course if we were purchasing tickets abroad, we'd be heading the other direction, to visit my husband's homeland. I'd be eager to go, but I don't believe it would be a real vacation (because we'd have to come home to rest). Adam recently wrote a story about such a trip, a story in which we all escape from the lions with our jet packs. Not that there are really lions there, but he's borrowing lore from other parts of the continent.

Love your purse. We all have scraps that need to be used. With fabric at $12 a yard, need to use it all up. Thanks for the giveaway.
