Welcome to finish it up Friday! I'm sooooooooo very excited about my finishes this week. My trees quilt and the pattern are all done, which feels great. (Thanks to all of you who purchased the pattern, by the way!)
But also, I'm ecstatic because.....
I finished my business taxes this week.
Without taking up drinking.
And without cursing.
Yee-haw!
I may sound a little dramatic,
but let me tell you...
I can match pretty fabric together all day long
and quilt up a storm.
An accountant I am not.
My husband hasn't offered to take it all over yet
(hahahahaha!)
so I'm left to figure it out.
Painful, I tell you!
I kept telling myself that it was a good issue to have.
I know it is.
But I'm soooooooooo glad I'm done.
(for another year.)
How about you? Do you have a finish to share? If so, please link up! Thanks for joining me. Happy Friday to you!
Oh.. tax! the most fear time that I have around this time of the year. So many to concern and plus I still am in schooling. :) So happy for you and the tree quilt is so so cute! It would be so cute to make a mini version of it.
ReplyDeleteWait to finish up those taxes!! That is a massive finish!!
ReplyDeletep.s. I finished a quilt label this week. :)
ReplyDeletecongrats on finishing your taxes! that calls for a celebration! a linky party! and a visit to your local quilt shop for a purchased treat! . . . or just save yourself the trouble purchase on-line, but there aren't any yogurt stores on the way home :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful finishes. I always love your work.
My kids learned a history sentence this year "Taxes, Slavery, and unemployment all contributed to the fall of Rome". I'm wondering if it was in fact the calculating of taxes! Ugh!!! I finishedy business taxes and what I called "I'm a boy, fair and square" quilt! My boy has been sweetly asking for a quilt from all the cute boy fabrics and we sorted my scraps and found a few more! Your fair and square quilt was the perfect way to show off his fabric choices! Thanks for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of you and your tax finish. Being self-employed has perks, but the book work is the down side for me. I love your tree quilt. Congrats on all of your finishes this week!
ReplyDeleteI used to pay someone to do mine as too painful!
ReplyDeleteGive yourself a pat on the back!
What a relief that must be. I need to dog through all my files soon too so we can do ours as well *ugh! Have you ever thought of making a "Finish it up Friday button"? It would be great to link up easier :)
ReplyDeleteOooh! I absolutely hate paperwork. good for you getting it done! ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting the taxes done - waaaaaay ahead of schedule!
ReplyDeleteTaxes. I hate that part. We file my business stuff with our joint return. But I do have to do the sales tax in January. I'm rejoicing that finish with you!
ReplyDeleteew. Taxes. Don't remind me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting - I love this linky party!
ReplyDeleteEeesh Taxes! Fininshing is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteYeah for you. For me...not such a big deal honestly because I'm do accounting for a living. A numbers geek and a quilter all wrapped up in the same person....my friends tell me that I am really "different".
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the taxes and the new pattern!
ReplyDeleteI spent almost all day Monday sorting receipts. I'm nearly finished with the business stuff - now on to personal :(
I am finished with winter, but it isn't finished with me.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a linkup button somewhere that I can add to my blog? I'm making a list of all the fun quilting linkups out there and would love to add yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, I tried to join the link but have a red cross against my name. I think it has something to do with the Twitter question. I don't use it and so thought I could just choose the 'skip' option. Please help.
ReplyDeleteP.S.I love you following your blog and your designs.
You've got a cross next to your name because you can delete your entry :)
Delete(If you make a mistake or change your mind) x
DeleteJ did ours last night. We owe the fed $8.00 more than we get back from the state. LOL. Guess that's about as close to breaking even as you can get. LOL.
ReplyDeleteOh, congratulations! Getting the taxes finished is such a huge weight off your shoulders. I'm a little bit jealous! lol
ReplyDeleteYea for you.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten beyond stuffing all the needed documents in one drawer. My goal this year is to finish in March. So I've got at least another month to think about it.
Tree pattern, love it, as you know! Taxes. Hate them, in any form. Congrats on being done with them!!
ReplyDeleteokay, as a CPA, I found your "working on the taxes" picture hilarious ... you should see my desk (and floor and bookcases and cabinets)!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for finishing up the taxes! I consider myself fairly organized with stuff like that. But when I started getting our business taxes together last night I realized that 2012 was a bad year for tax organization--partly because Mark did nearly nothing as far as the fused glass business so I thought, pffft.... oops! Now I have to explain to the CPA why record keeping was so lax for 2012. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteI just want to say that thank you very much for sharing such informative post.
